Chita Rivera's new memoir wins her an enormous close-up photo in the NYTimes

This is even scarier than that photo of Sarah Ferguson someone posted today.

But this does sound like an interesting book--I'd love to read it.

Check back after YOU’VE hit 90, OP.

I won't be allowing close-up photos of me to be published in the NYTimes at that age.

They'll be so disappointed, r2.

The book is interesting.

JFC! That's too close!

OP, I posted about this in one of the THEATER GOSSIP threads. I had the same reaction you did. Do we think the photographer's on Liza's payroll?

I couldn't believe Chita's representation cleared this. Yes, she's in her 90s, but there are much more flattering editorial photos that have been taken of her recently. Including a couple of months ago in the NY Times, too. Different photographer... obviously.

The Times had to hire a voodoo priestess to resurrect her to get that photo.

It was interesting but likely no big reveal we didn't already know.

She sort of pushes the narrative that she had two personas - Chita, the smiling professional, and Dolores (her real first name), the cunt that would cut a bitch.

Loved Gwen Verdon. She doesn't come out and say much about Ann Reinking but she clearly did not like her.

Chita had some good dick in her day.

Loved the gays.

Except for the tragic collapsed nose, she looks fine.

Chita, I know just how you feel.
