Do you think she regrets turning down any of them? Especially Iron Man. She did end up in the Marvel world anyway.
Rachel McAdams turned down some major roles, consecutively within a two-year period

I love RM but thank God she didn't take Casino Royale. Eva Green is unforgettable in that.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 19, 2023 3:05 AM |
I don't understand this. I have a friend who was an agent. There are only so many roles to go around.
In order to keep actors happy with their agents and management, they are offered roles that they know they can't or won't take for whatever reasons.
Just because you're sent a script and offered to do a casting with the director, it doesn't mean it's real interest or a real offers. These all happened when she moved back to Canada for 2 years.
I can guarantee you these weren't FIRM offers. Almost every starring role in every film was FOUGHT for - even by the huge, big name actors of both genders.
Nobody is handed anything in Hollywood. Or that's what my agent friend said.

I can’t see her in Devil.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 19, 2023 3:10 AM |
RM has made bad career choices
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 19, 2023 3:11 AM |
She looks cold and angry in pic
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 19, 2023 3:11 AM |
I heard she's a lez. I also heard Jada ate her muff and was obsessed with her for a while. Anyone else can confirm?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 19, 2023 3:13 AM |
R3 false. A bunch of false in everything you just said.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 19, 2023 3:22 AM |
R5 no. She hasn’t.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 19, 2023 3:23 AM |
I wish she had taken Iron Man. She’s so much prettier than Goop and would have been much better in that role.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 19, 2023 3:26 AM |
^^^ True dat.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 19, 2023 3:28 AM |
R8 - what's false? You don't know what you're talking about.
People are not handed roles - they're offered scripts and to read for them. Every once in a while, a director has a specific actor or actress in mind - but there's no way she was handed all of these roles sight unseen.
Tell me how you know it's false?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 19, 2023 3:30 AM |
R8 is correct
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 19, 2023 3:32 AM |
R13 yup. That person trolls too much.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 19, 2023 3:47 AM |
I heard she trying to move away from the Hollywood spotlight, but then waited too late to finally sell out with that Sherlock movie.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 10, 2023 5:48 PM |
I get her mixed up with the actress from Coyote Ugly
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 10, 2023 5:52 PM |
She will be forever remembered for Mean Girls and The Notebook. I don’t think any of the other roles would have been as iconic. Goop’s role in Iron Man was really nothing.
She starred with RDJ in Sherlock and their chemistry wasn’t that amazing anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 10, 2023 5:54 PM |
She’s a very boring actress to me. Have never gotten the hype.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 10, 2023 5:55 PM |
Shes a terrible actress. I recall in Wedding Crashers everyone had a funny role with some charisma or charm, except her with her monotone flat facial expressions. Im glad she wasnt in Casino Royale, that was a perfect movie.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 10, 2023 6:07 PM |
I liked her in Midnight in Paris.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 10, 2023 6:20 PM |
I think she is adorable and great in rom-coms
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 10, 2023 6:34 PM |
Now it makes sense. This woman was on track to be the next Julia Roberts.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 10, 2023 6:47 PM |
I'm glad she turned down The Devil Wears Prada. AnnE was perfect in that role.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 10, 2023 7:04 PM |
Anyone remember that thriller she did with Cilian Murphy. It came out shortly after Wedding Crashers and was a hit. Within like a 2 yr period she had done Mean Girls, Wedding Crashers, and I think the film was Red Eye. She’s a fool for turning down all these big blockbusters. Instead we got Jennifer Lawrence forced down our throats.

Not anymore!

Isn't she the antivaxx Canadian?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 10, 2023 7:22 PM |
She was so gorgeous in WC
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 10, 2023 7:38 PM |
She's great in The Family Stone. She should do more comedic, witty/acerbic roles. Come back, Rachel McA!
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 10, 2023 7:57 PM |
She's a charisma-free zone.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 10, 2023 7:59 PM |
Agreed, R28. She’s wonderful in The Family Stone. I really just love that movie.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 10, 2023 8:03 PM |
That lezzie movie she stars in with Racehel Weisz has a very uncomfortable to watch sex scene
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 10, 2023 8:21 PM |
I’d have preferred her in DWP
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 10, 2023 8:42 PM |
She was perfect in Mean Girls.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 10, 2023 9:04 PM |
She’s another leading lady who most women really like.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 10, 2023 9:12 PM |
She has the appeal of wet food at the bottom of the sink.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 11, 2023 1:57 AM |

God, YES. It's called Red Eye, and Cillian is so handsome and charming in it.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 11, 2023 2:23 AM |
I like her. It was kind of hard to see her cast as the mother in Are You There God? It's Me Margaret
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 11, 2023 2:35 AM |
She is in the first season of the Canadian show Slings and Arrows.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 11, 2023 2:43 AM |
My college roommate's friend went to high-school with Rachel Macadams and said she was a royal bitch
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 11, 2023 2:56 AM |
I hated her so much in The Family Stone I wouldn’t watch her films. I detest that movie. Then I saw her in the goofy Eurovision movie and she was adorable in it. She’s fantastic in “Are You There God, It’s Me, Margaret” which is my favorite film so far this year.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 11, 2023 3:12 AM |
Yes, she was really great in Margaret—though it did make me feel old seeing her in a mom role.

Miranda Priestly would have made her get rid of the mole.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 11, 2023 1:35 PM |
Her wide eyed ingenue thing was never that appealing to me. She was good in The Notebook but never seemed to have much appeal on a broad scale.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 11, 2023 1:54 PM |
The only thing I remember about Red Eye is the hilarious "drink" moment which made me wish to never order any vodka based fruit drink for the rest of my life.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 11, 2023 1:55 PM |
A bay breeze if I recall correctly?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 11, 2023 10:45 PM |
She has a lot of neck moles.
