New Book Claims Her late Majesty Called Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Behavior “Quite Mad”

Veteran royal correspondent Robert Jobson’s latest book, Our King, drops bombshells about the Princess of Wales as well as the ongoing feud between Prince Harry and his father King Charles and brother Prince William. But the book also speaks about Her late Majesty, especially when it came to her relationship with Harry and wife Meghan Markle.

The book claims that the Queen was “mystified” by Harry and Meghan’s January 2020 decision to step back as working members of the royal family, and that she found Harry so “consumed” by love for Meghan that she felt it “clouded his judgment.”

The Mirror cites the book as saying the Queen was “let down” by the Sussex step back decision, as she saw the couple’s departure as “a missed opportunity,” Jobson writes. Despite her disappointment, Her late Majesty had “great affection” for her grandson Harry and hoped he would “find peace and happiness” upon relocating from his native U.K. to Meghan’s native U.S.

“In truth, by the time his grandmother died, Harry had precious few supporters left in the family,” Jobson writes. “Even the Queen, who had always had great affection for him, eventually tired of his outbursts. First, she had wearied of the volatile exchanges between Harry and his brother, which sometimes took place in her presence. Then Harry and Meghan had started publicly criticizing both the monarchy and members of the royal family.”

Jobson continues “At that point, the Queen was frankly mystified by the couple’s behavior, describing it as ‘quite mad.’ She came to believe, however, that her grandson was ‘so consumed’ by his love for his wife that it was ‘clouding his judgment.’”

The book also cites a royal source as saying that Harry regularly called his grandmother from his new home base in California, but that she found their conversations “quite difficult and wearisome” and urged Harry to speak to Charles directly.

The book also outlines a tense exchange between father and son, when Harry intended to tell Charles his plans to marry Meghan—but William had already beat him to the punch. After Harry told Charles himself, William spoke first again, reportedly asking “Are you sure, Harold?” Charles then told Harry that he “couldn’t afford to pay for Meghan in the future” alongside his wife Camilla, William and his wife Kate, and their three children. This reportedly “infuriated” Harry.

The Mirror has also reported on another passage from the book—an exchange between the Queen and Meghan, who offered the Duchess of Sussex advice when she first joined the royal family. In the one-to-one chat between the two, Her late Majesty said she was “so pleased Harry had at last found love” as the Queen “warmly welcomed” Meghan into the family. The Queen advised Meghan to turn to Sophie, Countess of Wessex, for support. Meghan’s reply? “I’ve got Harry,” the book claims. Jobson writes that the Queen was “surprised” by Meghan’s remark.

enough of these BRF and Harry/Meghan threads!!! Good God. Enough already.

by Anonymousreply 1April 11, 2023 4:15 PM

R1, just ignore the thread,

by Anonymousreply 2April 11, 2023 4:16 PM

I don't know why R1 and R2 cannot understand that there are many Dataloungers who actually want to talk about the BRF, even if THEY don't.

It's strange how some people seem to think that the world only revolves around them, and what they want.

by Anonymousreply 3April 11, 2023 4:19 PM

R3 It's such a frau and freak subject to be obsessed about. And why do you need about 4 new threads per day about them? People don't like the tennis fans either but at least they keep it to one thread at a time.

by Anonymousreply 4April 11, 2023 4:32 PM

Well, when you have four fucking threads on the main page about the same subject, I think most people tend to get annoyed.

So I'm speaking for all of them. Keep it in your pants and contained to one or two three threads. So say us all who are sick to DEATH of all the BRF threads.

What don't you understand about this? Repeat thread subjects get Mein Fuherer'ed all the fucking time. This is one of those times. Stop creating new threads for the same damn subject, you boring idiots.

by Anonymousreply 5April 11, 2023 4:32 PM

Harry still hasn't figured out that his wife is a grifter so I would say his behavior is "quite mad"--or, at the very least, dumb.

by Anonymousreply 6April 11, 2023 4:33 PM

William the Terrible lashing out at Harry once again.

Why is he so threatened by Harry?

Even the Queen was sick of it.

by Anonymousreply 7April 11, 2023 4:40 PM

I no longer contribute all that much to the BRF threads but I will say that Harry's treatment of Queen Elizabeth at the end of her long life was utterly disgraceful. And I am not surprised at this book's claim that the whore whom he married was disrespectful to the late Queen.

by Anonymousreply 8April 11, 2023 4:41 PM

When I see a thread that I have no interest in, or one that I might find offensive in some way, I simply click on the orange circle with the strike-through line next to the thread, and it disappears from my view. It takes much less effort than typing out a complaint, and it offends no one.

by Anonymousreply 9April 11, 2023 4:44 PM

[quote] William the Terrible lashing out at Harry once again. Why is he so threatened by Harry? Even the Queen was sick of it.

Quite a misinterpretation of the article, I’d say.

by Anonymousreply 10April 11, 2023 4:55 PM

I get the feeling that Wills and Katherine are no bed of roses either. It'd be a nightmare being in that family. Harry has messed up big time, him and Meghan both. I hate the way William and Katherine trot their kids out. I realize they have to make appearances with their kids, especially on Holidays, but it just seems wrong.

by Anonymousreply 11April 11, 2023 5:02 PM

R9, stop depriving these scolding nags of their meaning in life.

by Anonymousreply 12April 11, 2023 5:15 PM

It's just so stupid to bitch about multiple threads -about anything. It happens all the time about lots of topics. Whiners: seriously, get a life. It's just such a pointless thing to whine about. I get it you, can see the thread. But certain if we could see you we'd have lots of things to bitch about too.

Sorry for you, R14. Why are you here anyway? We don't sell Pepsi.

by Anonymousreply 15April 11, 2023 5:26 PM

R9 and who cares if it offends?

by Anonymousreply 16April 11, 2023 5:26 PM

Who is the source for how the Queen felt in conversations with just one other person?

by Anonymousreply 17April 11, 2023 5:34 PM

Do you think Harry's hole is pink, or beige? Im going with pink.

by Anonymousreply 18April 11, 2023 5:35 PM

Prince Harry is like my brother. My brother married an older woman (5 yrs older than him), who is the worst possible manipulative, emotionally unstable sick person imaginable. Because we told him not to be with her, he shunned all of us, and let her abuse our father when he visited them. At least Prince Harry is respectful, but my brother mistreated everyone in the family and was passively abusive toward our parents just because of her. He did not even show up for their funerals. So there are people like Prince Harry, but when compared to my brother, he is still a much better person. Maybe that is because he is financially dependent on the Royal family.

by Anonymousreply 19April 11, 2023 5:58 PM

Supposedly, he's financially independent now, or at least that's what we're being told. But I'm sure he hopes something will change so the spigot gets turned back on. That's how delusional he is. The thing is that once he delivers the contracted books, what's he going to do? He's not trained for anything.

by Anonymousreply 20April 11, 2023 10:18 PM

The thought of Queen Elizabeth II calling Harry and Meghan "quite mad" just cracks me up!

by Anonymousreply 21April 11, 2023 10:22 PM

Oh good, this again.

by Anonymousreply 22April 11, 2023 10:29 PM

She called me mad because I'm black and the racist batch never asked me how I was either.

by Anonymousreply 23April 11, 2023 10:57 PM

What I find so curious is that Meghan- often sans Harry - was all over the media but there has hardly been a peep out of her since the Netflix documentary. Perhaps, she didn't want to be part of The Spate press tour but I think it is more than that. Maybe she negotiated some kind of deal for the kids' titles. Titles for silence?

[quote] Prince Harry Allegedly Cursed at King Charles Over Money, New Book Claims

We read all about an explosive row between Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, in the pages of Harry’s memoir Spare—a row that turned physical. But a different book—veteran royal correspondent Robert Jobson’s latest, Our King—details a different row, this one between Harry and his father, King Charles, and, while thankfully not another physical fight, this one struck a deep emotional chord.

The Mirror explains that a furious Harry swore at Charles in an argument about money: “Having lost his temper when his repeated demands for funds were not met, it’s claimed foul-mouthed Harry vented his frustrations at his father in a heated telephone conversation,” the outlet reports.

Harry—who, by the way, to our knowledge anyway, still has not RSVPed for the Coronation over a week after the deadline—burned his bridges with his father during this argument, apparently. Harry had been contacting Her late Majesty to discuss finances, but she reportedly grew “weary and tired” of talking about it with her grandson, according to Our King. Jobson writes that Harry regularly called the Queen from his new home base in California, but she felt “troubled” when he asked her to voice his grievances, asking her to act as a bit of a mediator between Harry and his father, if you will.

Her Majesty found Prince Harry’s calls quite difficult and wearisome,” Jobson writes. “She didn’t want to interfere in the father/son relationship and would urge him to speak to his father.”

So that’s exactly what Harry did—he called his father, Charles, and, uh, it didn’t go so well.

The then “Prince Charles simply stopped taking Harry’s calls after his son swore at him and repeatedly asked for funds,” Jobson writes. “When the Queen asked Charles why he hadn’t given in, he told her that he wasn’t a bank.”

Ouch.

And, per Harry’s attendance at arguably the biggest day of his father’s life—his Coronation, coming up incredibly quickly on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London—Harry and wife Meghan Markle are apparently “on the brink” of making a decision, The Mirror reports. But their reported demand of inclusion on the Buckingham Palace balcony after the ceremony isn’t going to happen, a source says, as the balcony appearance will only consist of working members of the royal family.

“The King has been very clear who he wants to represent the monarchy,” the source says. “There is little room for sentiment. This is a State occasion, not a family occasion, and it is right that only the working members of the royal family are there at the big public moment.”

They are milking the will-they-won’t-they attend the coronation for all its worth because they know this is their last hurrah. I’d have a hell of a lot more respect for them if they said fuck it, we’re not going.

Instead they’re playing this stupid game of negotiating terms for their attendance, which just shows how desperate they are. What a couple of assholes. It’s his goddamned dads, who even Harry portrays in his book as a decent—if removed—father.

I’m sure everyone in that family is an entitled jerk, but Harry takes the cake. Meghan is a piece of work, but it’s Harry’s family and he’s pulling this crap of his own free will.

by Anonymousreply 26April 12, 2023 12:26 AM

Well Harry's attending and his wife isn't, news according to Omid Scobie.

by Anonymousreply 27April 12, 2023 3:24 PM

No mention of the Queen referring to Harry and Meghan during the last year of her life as "those cunts in California"??

by Anonymousreply 28April 12, 2023 3:38 PM

R5. What rational explanation do you offer in your mind for being so annoyed at threads you don’t like? I’m not interested in the vast majority of the treads here, but it would never occur to me to be irritated about it at all, much less take the time to post about my irritation.

Does it take you much more time than me to scroll past threads that you dislike? Are you exceptionally busy and even a minimal amount of time spent scrolling is a significant sacrifice of time? Are you a person who has difficulty adapting the fact that not everyone is like you?

Sorry if these surfilerons are insulting, but your post itself is insulting, and I struggle to find a non-weird explanation for your post and those like it

Klan grannies rubbing their clits.

by Anonymousreply 30April 12, 2023 3:42 PM

The funniest thing about this whole ordeal is that Meghan STILL has supporters. Do I think she is pure evil? No. But is she a grifter? Obviously. Anyone with a working pair of eyes and ears and a functioning brain could tell you that.

by Anonymousreply 31April 12, 2023 3:44 PM

Get a new clap back R30

by Anonymousreply 32April 12, 2023 3:50 PM

Harry attending the coronation and leaving Meghan in the U.S. is the best decision these fools have made since they got married.

Prince Harry is doing his duty as he always has yet protecting his wife and children from the BRF bile He'll only spend 90 minutes at the ceremony and fly back immediately. With the time difference he'll be in California in time to see Archie blow out his birthday candles. It's a big win for the Sussex brand The optics will be great for him. He'll be the only one the media focuses on. Even wearing his pajamas he'd upstage that pathetic lot. Win Win.

by Anonymousreply 52April 12, 2023 4:51 PM

R40, she definitely has supporters. People who tend to be more on the social justice side are so invested in all the racism Meghan experienced. She probably did experience racism in Buckingham Palace but I honestly don't give a shit. You're telling me a family with a history of hundreds of years of colonialism said some racist things?! Shocking!!! There are more important problems in the world.

by Anonymousreply 53April 12, 2023 4:55 PM

If he truly didn't care, he would just decline the invitation.

But some small part of him must still feel some loyalty to the family.

by Anonymousreply 66April 12, 2023 11:50 PM

Meghan not attending the coronation is the best possible outcome for the Royals. She'd only be attention-seeking, rude and badly dressed, anyway.

by Anonymousreply 67April 13, 2023 12:17 AM

Well there it all is, the root of the brouhaha:

Charles told Harry he wouldn't pay for Meghan. She probably devised the revenge plan to sell them out to Hollywood as soon as she heard that, with stupid Harry telling her immediately.

Ruin them for the offense. Very BPD.

by Anonymousreply 68April 13, 2023 12:26 AM

R64. Oh, please. As if that creep of a human being were part of your family, you wouldn’t have to constantly resist the urge to spit on him and his wife. The family has been extraordinarily patient and kind with him.

by Anonymousreply 69April 13, 2023 12:28 AM

NEVER TELL HIM NOT TO MARRY HER. There's no graceful way out of that, and it ruins relationships for life.

If you can't get rid of her before he buys a ring, just bite your lip and smile and lock the money up quietly and impenetrably.

by Anonymousreply 70April 13, 2023 12:35 AM
