R4 I think there are probably people who go through serious dysphoria. I think there's also a new wave of confused young people who perceive identity as something extremely structuralized. Nobody put much thought into it, if you were a tomboy, or if you were a straight guy on the sensitive or artsy side, or whatever it might be about you that didn't conform to so-called gender roles. Nobody actually fits those stereotypes neatly, that's just not how reality works. I do think now that kids who are actually completely normal are under a lot of pressure to structuralize their identity. "I'm a straight boy but I don't like sports and I'm not aggressive - I like gardening and reading. That could mean I'm non-binary or genderqueer, because I don't conform to cismasculinity" - some train of thought like that. I remember, maybe ten years ago, there was a lot of infighting about truscum/transtrending, which is basically the distinction I am talking about. Some people (the "truscum") who were experiencing serious gender dysphoria were upset that dorks were suddenly claiming to be trans just because they're not some 1950s archetype of a man or a woman.

Jenner is an AGP. He doesn't feel he is in the wrong body he gets a hard-on wearing women's clothes. At least 85% of them are AGPs and straight men who keep their penises. Only 2% or less have bottom surgery.
