Spanish actress welcomes a baby via surrogate with sperm of her late son who died from cancer
by Anonymous | reply 89 | April 9, 2023 3:06 AM |
What’s the problem?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | April 5, 2023 8:15 PM |
Gross.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 5, 2023 8:15 PM |
BTW, surrogacy is forbidden in Spain.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 5, 2023 8:17 PM |
Its NOT her egg. Its just her granddaughter made with her dead son's sperm and some egg done. Bit deal. She's old so I hope she has friends, or a partner or other kids to be around for that 10-20 year old when she drops dead.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 5, 2023 8:17 PM |
I never thought to do that with Bucks sperm.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 5, 2023 8:19 PM |
Heterosexuals are gross.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 5, 2023 8:22 PM |
Why is this gross? It's not like she used her son's sperm to impregnate herself so let go of the pearls and explain.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 5, 2023 8:26 PM |
R7 the child will never get to know its father and was born after his death
some find that selfish on the part of this woman
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 5, 2023 8:29 PM |
She is kooky, I don't like biological determinism, but no woman of that age should be getting pregnant, specially is she is using her dead son's sperm!
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 5, 2023 8:32 PM |
I don't want to click on People - all those ads! (Worse than Newsweek/CNN.com lol!) Sooooo...um, question - how and why was the sperm of the dead man collected in the first place? 😶 Was this like a woman freezing her eggs before she becomes a withered, dried up old husk?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 5, 2023 8:33 PM |
I wish I never had to know my father r8
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 5, 2023 8:33 PM |
R9 Reading skills? She didn't get pregnant.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 5, 2023 8:33 PM |
Well, it sounds like the son stored his sperm for a reason, so she's just following through.
[quote] "What people don't know is that this was Aless' last will," she explained, addressing that Aless told both her and Lequio about his wishes and had frozen sperm before starting chemotherapy after his diagnosis.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 5, 2023 8:34 PM |
Not the same situation, but I know a family that had an oldest son who was a fourth, as in John Smith IV. He committed suicide at age 17 and the parents had another son who they named John Smith V.
I always thought that was both creepy and narcissistic.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 5, 2023 8:34 PM |
It doesn't matter R12, she is too old to start raising a child, she became too old for that at least fifteen years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 5, 2023 8:36 PM |
The son had died after a long cancer.... I guess he had time to jizz in a cup
by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 5, 2023 8:36 PM |
The son asked her to use his sperm to have a child and she promised him before he died that she would THROUGH A SURROGATE. So she's the baby's grandmother.
AND SHE DIDN'T GET PREGNANT!
So what's gross about it?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 5, 2023 8:45 PM |
When you point out the idiocy of some stupid cunt remarking the actress is too old to be pregnant, the stupid cunt deflects.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 5, 2023 8:49 PM |
It's a little too weird for me. He's dead... can't be a father. It's a selfish request of him and also selfish of her, who is going to be responsible for this child if she dies?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 5, 2023 8:53 PM |
And who the fuck takes care of the child R17?
Like R19 already pointed out her son cannot be a dad because he won't be here to raise the child or interact with the child at all.
Basically the child has no father,no mother, just a granny to rely on. The chances of the grandmother still being alive and sane when the child turns 30 are microscopic.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 5, 2023 8:58 PM |
[quote]Not the same situation, but I know a family that had an oldest son who was a fourth, as in John Smith IV. He committed suicide at age 17 and the parents had another son who they named John Smith V.
What’s wrong with that? Should they have named him IV to replace the one that died?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 5, 2023 8:58 PM |
[quote]Like [R19] already pointed out her son cannot be a dad because he won't be here to raise the child or interact with the child at all.
Why not? Don’t become a father if you’re just going to be an absentee dad.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | April 5, 2023 8:59 PM |
So she basically birthed her own grandchild?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 5, 2023 9:04 PM |
I hate how egocentric those straights are. I mean, her dead son obviously thought his genes were so special that he wished for a post mortem baby in his last will. What if mother nature was actually trying to prevent him from procreating by killing him so young?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 5, 2023 9:09 PM |
R22 an absent father can still pay the child alimony and occasionally interact with the boy/girl. And in that case we assume the child still has a mother. A mother who is not almost 70.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 5, 2023 9:11 PM |
The actress is worth millions and owns properties as well.
So the new granddaughter will more than likely be sitting pretty someday. That should help her get over anything ..lol.
Plus, perhaps her uncle (Ana's other son) can be a father-figure.
I also find it funny that our 68-year old actress earned a Master's degree in biology-zoology when she she was young.
Animal husbandry, anyone?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 5, 2023 9:23 PM |
So can’t the other son have children? Why does it have to be the dead one?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 5, 2023 9:28 PM |
Spin it any way you want Ana but there’s no getting around the fact that you’re a grandmother.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | April 5, 2023 9:31 PM |
Cancer patients as young as their early teens have the option of banking sperm prior to treatment and it leaves behind a strange, sad quandary for their parents, what to do with it once they're gone. In this case, she says her son's wishes were known, and presumably she has documentation attesting to that.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 5, 2023 9:34 PM |
The world of het'rosexuals is a sick and boring life.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | April 5, 2023 9:37 PM |
Let me settle this one so we can move on. This is BOTH weird and gross.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | April 5, 2023 9:37 PM |
R21, you are right and I was wrong. I didn’t really know these people, the son who killed himself was a friend of my father’s and all of this happened in the late 60s.
We just had dinner and I asked him about it all and he reminded me that they gave the second son the same name, John Smith IV, that his older brother had had.
Obviously much creepier. It’s like the oldest son had never existed.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | April 5, 2023 11:20 PM |
[quote] Plus, perhaps her uncle (Ana's other son) can be a father-figure.
The wording in the People article linked - about clearing up rumors "that she's become a mom for the second time at 68" makes it sound like she had only become a mom one time before.
Are we sure there's an uncle?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | April 5, 2023 11:32 PM |
This is utterly deranged with just a hint of depravity for flavor.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | April 6, 2023 12:13 AM |
R34 You're absolutely right. I checked two other sources, and they say she only had the one son, who's now dead.
More money for the new daughter-granddaughter! She won't have to share!
by Anonymous | reply 36 | April 6, 2023 1:09 AM |

Probably the rich actress?

The baby is a descendant of Queen Victoria.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | April 6, 2023 1:40 AM |
Well fuck 60 year old men are impregnating women at least the sperm is relatively young in this case
by Anonymous | reply 39 | April 6, 2023 2:01 AM |
R14 Well….I knew a family with a lot of children. They had a baby named David in 1964. David died in 1965. They had a couple of girls. Then another boy, also named David. That David died in infancy, too. They had more boys but no more David’s.

by Anonymous | reply 44 | April 6, 2023 2:21 AM |
People. Take 45 seconds to read the article. The abuela is honoring her son’s wish. He froze sperm upon learning of his cancer diagnosis. She sought a surrogate mother in the US where it was legal.

Family Drama as Alessandro calls his younger son Clemente "fat" and Clemente fires back "I wasn't invited to my brother's funeral!"
[quote] Alessandro Lequio points to his son Clemente for his physique and he explodes like never before
[quote] After the dispute over the non-attendance at the funeral of his brother Álex Lequio, Clemente Lequio has responded with irony to the message of his father Alessandro Lequio
[quote] A comment by Alessandro Lequio in one of the latest photographs shared by his son Clemente Lequio has surprised everyone. The collaborator of 'El programa de Ana Rosa', in an image in which his son appears on the beach in a swimsuit, has written him a few words with which he has referred to his physique. "Get fit. ' Mens sana in corpore sano'", has been the comment he has put to him.
[quote] Although Ana Obregón's ex-husband has added heart-shaped emoticons to his words, it has caused a stir. So much so that his son Clemente has exploded and has responded to his father in the form of a video.
[quote] Hours after his father told him to get in shape after seeing his photograph in a swimsuit, Clemente wanted to make things very clear. "Yes, I'm a bit fat but I don't care," he said in reference to his physique.
[quote] "I wanted to dedicate a minute of silence to these people who tell me I'm fat. People who think that after what we are living in the world, that it is more important the body and being fit instead of being able to work and being able to bring bread to eat to their family, "he continued with much irony.
[quote] Clemente has not made direct reference to his father, but many have interpreted his words as a message to Alessandro considering that he speaks of comments similar to those he has made.
[quote] All this comes after the controversy that arose when Antonia Dell'Atte, mother of Clemente, assured in the program 'Lazos de sangre' that her son had not been invited to the funeral of his brother Aless Lequio. A statement that caused a lot of stir and that Clemente supported.
[quote] "My mother has never lied about what she said in her last television appearance. She has my full support and it pains me to see her unjustly attacked," she said in her statement, raising alarms about a possible bad relationship with her father.

I like Ana. She's no bimbo. She's highly educated as are most in her family.
Ana has four younger siblings who have multiple children and because our Spanish families are typically very close this child will grow up in a large extended family that adores her because she is part of deceased Alex.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | April 6, 2023 4:35 AM |
Everyone does it
by Anonymous | reply 56 | April 6, 2023 4:36 AM |

The only hing that is debatable is the use of a surrogate. She is uninvolved biologically, it's getting a grandchild with extra steps. She's not the mother. She's the granny. I understand her somehow.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | April 6, 2023 6:07 AM |
“Should I call you mommy or granny?”
by Anonymous | reply 61 | April 6, 2023 6:34 AM |
R36 R34 There actually is an uncle (half-uncle) just on the other side of the dead son's family; so perhaps that's where the confusion came in. The dead son's father, has an older son named Clemente from a previous relationship. It sounds like the two brothers were close, as the older one put a nice tribute to his 'hermano' up on his IG when he died.
The article below (from Spanish and put through google translate) seems to indicate that their father was rather estranged from the older brother, and it's the illness of the younger brother that brought the two of them together.
Also, apparently, the new "grandfather" was in the dark when it came to the surrogate baby.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | April 6, 2023 6:49 AM |
Ana only had one son. Clemente was Lequio's son with another woman. It is creepy. She just bought herself a toy. Also, she sold the exclusive to Hola magazine and was photographed exiting the hospital as if she had given birth. Gurl ain't right.

by Anonymous | reply 64 | April 6, 2023 10:00 AM |
I'm suspicious that her son really wanted this, unless it was in writing (and wouldn't that we weird?)
They save sperm before treatment, expecting you'll use it after you get better - that's standard procedure. They do it for everybody.

This reminds me of a story from a few years ago. A trans kid committed suicide. The mother of the kid said that her child had always wanted to be a mother. She was going to go to court for the right to retrieve her kid's sperm. I don't know what happened.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | April 6, 2023 10:57 PM |

What's with all this moralising "she is depriving the child of a father" stuff? So two gay guys can't have a baby now because they're depriving it of a mother? Do you people realise what forum you're on?
by Anonymous | reply 75 | April 8, 2023 3:53 PM |
I think it's nice that she's having two babies this way - so they will have a half-sibling. Hope they can grow up together, even though the other one will be born in... was it Argentina or Brazil?
by Anonymous | reply 76 | April 8, 2023 5:29 PM |
Ew, David
by Anonymous | reply 77 | April 8, 2023 5:30 PM |
R75, this not the same as two gay guys having a baby.
Did this son know that his mom intended to make a baby out of his sperm after he died?
How would you feel if your parent did this to you?
Maybe you're in a fatal car accident and your homophobic parent decides they'd like to try for a straight version of you.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | April 8, 2023 5:44 PM |
All I'll say is I hope she doesn't have a change of heart and the girl doesn't die mysteriously in her own home at Christmas with her family sleeping upstairs.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | April 8, 2023 6:11 PM |
Why would it be a half sibling and not a full sibling?
by Anonymous | reply 80 | April 8, 2023 7:48 PM |
R80. I assumed they used his sperm to impregnate two women - one who just gave birth and the other is expecting (in South America)
But if they use his sperm and one woman's eggs to make embryos then they could be full siblings.
And if that's the case, I think it's more likely that he knew they were freezing embryos that could very well be used after he died. If it was just a sperm collection, I'd be more suspicious.
Anyway, I guess it was hers to use, since that's what she did. Whether he would have approved makes no difference - he's not around to object.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | April 8, 2023 10:56 PM |
