Isn't the CBS Morning show always in last place? I didn't think anyone was watching it.

I used to like the CBS Morning Show, but Gayle King really did ruin it. She is an awful "journalist" and even worse host.

I never watched the show, just don't like watching TV in the morning. Is it any good - or bad? When Charlie Rose started the format with King people didn't expect a huge hit but respected it for its quality compared to ABC's and NBC's format. How has the show developed since then?

Gayle's connection to Lady O is priceless for CBS, and worth every penny they pay Gale. Oprah will appear on CBS, do specials for CBS as long as Gayle is taken care of. NBC and ABC have to be concerned.

When it kicked off, Charlie Rose with Gayle King and Norah whatshername was excellent, pretty much lightning in a bottle. It was such a great show to watch as I got ready for work and a great counter to the insipidness of Today and GMA.

Charlie asked somebody out on a date and got fired. They handed it all over to Gayle who put herself front and center. The whole format changed, the stories took on more of what you’d see on GMA, they are very heavy on the race-focused Human interest stufff which is fine but they’ve gotten really heavy handed with it. Gayle and Nate now give their, sometimes long winded personal commentaries after nearly every story. We can’t watch anything and take it based on the reporting or our own conclusions. Gayle, Nate and Tony must ‘wrap it all up’ for us and tell us what we’re supposed to think. Then again, Gayle is rarely there anymore.

And Natalie Morales is both frightening to look at and wares on the eyes and ears very fast. We get it, you like sports. You really, REALLY like sports. And you’re a MOM. Okay. Awesome. Let’s move on now lady.

R11 I don't think ABC is worried - they doe the exclusive "Oprah Edition: View Your Deal" on THE VIEW a couple of times a week. For those not familiar - it's Oprah's Garage Sale. If Oprah was that exclusive to CBS, her "Oprah Garage Sale" would be featured on the low-rated 'The Talk'. But Oprah is loyal to high ratings - and she knows she reaches her audience on 'The View'.

Tony's wife Katy Tur has been off this week from MSNBC so they're probably on vacation for Sprring Break. And God I cannot stand Nate. He's a tool, and even worse on NFL Today.

The show is much better when Gayle isn't there. She's obnoxious and often talks over people in order to spout her uninformed opinions. Nate has gotten better, but he seems to now think that he's some kind of journalist. I will say it's fun to watch Vlad queen out while everyone pretends that he's straight.

I really used to like CBS This Morning, but It really has become all-black-all-the-time, with Tony as the token white guy. Plus, there's no real news anymore. It used to be the most serious news show of all the morning shows, and that's why I was loyal to it. Now, it isn't even worth watching.

But I will say this: if they used the Saturday morning crew on the weekdays, I'd watch that. Jeff Glor and Michelle Miller are great. Throw in a John Dickerson, and that would be a pretty good team.

I've never understood the appeal of morning shows. The last thing I want in the morning is a bunch of toothy people sitting in a brightly-lit studio shouting at the camera. I've seen bits and pieces of Kelly Ripa's show and it's very abrasive.

In relation to what R36 wrote, I think Jeff Glor returning to CBS Saturday Morning instead of jumping ship when he was replaced with Whorah O'Donnell on the Evening News was smart and savvy. He and Dana Jacobson and Michelle Miller are terrific together, and I would watch them Monday through Friday.

For somebody who gets paid to have TV shows, Gayle fucking King is never there. She's always off with Oprah someplace. She's been in Hawaii for two weeks or more at this point. The show she shitted-up on CBS is even worse this week, with Tony Dokoupil trying his best to keep his job as the only white guy left, Nate Burleson and his corn rows and Jaricka Duncan still too good and way too pretty to be anywhere near this shit show.

They also love, love LOVE showing social media videos where black people are beating white people are certain challenges and sports bets/dares. They had two this morning.
