I spend most of my free time posting on DL where whether relevant to the OP or not I always mention that I live in the Lower Left Side, some Hipster part of Brooklyn or the Kitchen from Hell or whatever. If I live anywhere else other than Manhattan I usually say NYC so you think I live in Manhattan.

by Anonymousreply 2April 1, 2023 9:22 PM

I’m the distain of Los Angeles despite the he fact that most of the NY gays would never survive West Hollywood gym culture

by Anonymousreply 3April 1, 2023 9:24 PM

I'm the arrogance and entitlement that hides rampant insecurity.

Still not correct, r6/r8. The phrase is "TOEING the line", and it doesn't seem to mean what you think it does.

by Anonymousreply 13April 1, 2023 10:10 PM

Yes, even ignoring the spelling mistake, I did not understand how he was using the phrase. He seemed to be using it the opposite of what it means.

by Anonymousreply 14April 1, 2023 10:12 PM

R12 I’m Gen Z, not ancient. No one cares anymore, you understood what I meant.

by Anonymousreply 15April 1, 2023 10:20 PM

[quote][R12] I’m Gen Z, not ancient. No one cares anymore, you understood what I meant.

I really don't know what you meant, r15. Using the phrase "toe the line" in that context makes zero sense. You made three mistakes in one short sentence. That's nothing to be proud of.

by Anonymousreply 16April 1, 2023 10:27 PM

R16 whatevs, geezer

by Anonymousreply 17April 1, 2023 10:32 PM

I feel like people make this comments without going to a gym in WeHo. It really does not feel that intense but people are fit. It's not like people walk around just hating on others. LA is more friendly than Chelsea.

Chelsea is family friendly. It's not the gay hotspot it was 20-30 years ago. The Limelight, The Big Cup . . .all gone.

Why is someone, even at 18 years old, just referred to as a "straphanger" in the news story about his death?!?

Surely, there was more to his life than that.

Imagine that being your epitaph, just because you were killed while riding the subway. Terrible.

by Anonymousreply 88April 8, 2023 12:33 AM

I'm the unhappy childhood in a blue collar neighborhood in Tulsa I have managed to keep well hidden.

When people ask I have an elaborate story about my socialite mother, oilman father and, once I've ascertained the person I am talking to has no connection to the South, SMU.

I frequently start threads about "things that are klassy" on DL and keep a tattered version of The Preppy Handbook by my bedside.
