If you watch King Creole (a part originally intended for James), Elvis is doing his best James Dean.
He also befriended several of James Dean’s friends after his death like Nick Adams and Natalie Wood.

Natalie was not Elvis 's "friend". They dated for about a week, she tried to get a fuck to no avail, he took her to Graceland and still didn't fuck her. She grabbed the bodyguard in a corridor and asked him "what about you, are you gay too ?" and fucked him right there on the floor. Gladys declared her a whore, threw her out, and said she was not to come back ever. Natalie told her friends that Elvis was very square, and could sing, but couldn't do much else. End of the story
