The Merrick Garland methodology of ignoring and delaying has impacted New York and Georgia decision-making. Even if Jack Smith delivers a scathing report about Trump's deemed criminal activities, and recommends firmly to indict, I have no confidence Garland will act accordingly.

Unreal. This can only be a political move. There is no way they don’t have tons of evidence. The people investigating Dump are playing a game of chicken. Waiting to see who indicts first.
The NY one is particularly galling. They’ve been investigating for more than six years!

Days earlier, Carlson also expressed fury with Powell over her false claims about the election, claims he had even questioned on the air of his prime time show.
“Sidney Powell is lying,” Carlson said in one message that was previously reported. “Fucking bitch.”
“She’s a psychopath. She’s getting Trump all spun up and has zero evidence,” an unknown Fox News staffer replied.
“Fucking bitch,” Carlson added. “Crazy person.”
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 30, 2023 11:39 AM |
^But then (same story):
Earlier this month [March, '23], during his coverage of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, Carlson described the election as unfair. “The protesters were angry: They believed that the election they had just voted in had been unfairly conducted. And they were right,” Carlson said. “In retrospect, it is clear the 2020 election was a grave betrayal of American democracy. Given the facts that have since emerged about that election, no honest person can deny it.”

There was speculation last night on the dead bird that Weisselberg had started talking.
The gist of this rumor was that he fired his dump “paid” lawyers (they probably quit because they weren’t paid).
The alleged reason for the firing was because Weisselberg was facing even MORE charges after this past week of testimony from Pecker. Word is Pecker had more instances of alleged affairs that were subsequently written off on his taxes.
As I said, “rumor” and “alleged”

What’s Josh Hawley going to do? Demands Merrick Garland be subpoenaed. The Senate Judiciary Committee is not controlled by Republicans. And if Garland appeared, he’ll refuse to talk about ANY legal investigations regarding Trump.
And demanding appearances before Gym Jordan’s or Comer’s clown shows in the House, prosecutors will say no to talking about any criminal investigations that are active.

[quote] Gov. Brad Little (R) signed a law on Wednesday evening that bans minors from traveling out of state for abortions without parental consent. The law creates a new felony crime called “abortion trafficking,” which the legislation defines as an “adult who, with the intent to conceal an abortion from the parents or guardian of a pregnant, unemancipated minor, either procures an abortion … or obtains an abortion-inducing drug” for the minor. “Recruiting, harboring, or transporting the pregnant minor within this state commits the crime of abortion trafficking,” according to the legislation. The crime of abortion trafficking carries a felony offense punishable by two to five years in prison.
[quote] The law criminalizes anyone transporting a pregnant minor without parental consent within Idaho to get an abortion or abortion pills, which means it could apply to a grandmother driving a pregnant minor to the post office to pick up a package holding medication abortion or target an older brother driving a pregnant minor to a friend’s house to self-manage an abortion at home.

The world is changing and they think they can prevent it by becoming the taliban. It won’t work. They can withdraw to to their little safe spaces of the backwards south but, as Georgia and North Carolina have shown, it’s just a matter of time before progress reaches them.
The more control they lose, the more terrified they become and the more Draconian laws they pass. They can’t stop the march of time or of progress. No matter how many stupid laws they pass. People will just ignore them.

[quote] When Republican megadonor Harlan Crow isn’t lavishing Justice Clarence Thomas with free trips on his private plane and yacht (in possible violation of Supreme Court ethics rules), he lives a quiet life in Dallas among his historical collections. These collections include Hitler artifacts—two of his paintings of European cityscapes, a signed copy of Mein Kampf, and assorted Nazi memorabilia—plus a garden full of statues of the 20th century’s worst despots.
[quote] Crow, the billionaire heir to a real estate fortune, has said that he’s filled his property with these mementoes because he hates communism and fascism. Nonetheless, his collections caused an uproar back in 2015 when Marco Rubio attended a fundraiser at Crow’s house on the eve of Yom Kippur. Rubio’s critics thought the timing was inappropriate given, you know, the Hitler stuff.
]...]
[quote] The person we talked to who visited Crow’s home says that it felt sort of like a museum (“just a bunch of collectibles everywhere from major historical events”) and describes the Crows as “such hospitable Texas hosts.” The evening wasn’t unpleasant, they say, “just strange—they had family photos in one room, then all this WWII stuff in another room, and dictators in the backyard.”

Republicans cheat and they are cruel. After years of watching their hateful shenanigans I've deduced they are perverted in that they take pleasure in hurting others.
They care nothing about dignity, integrity, honor, or respect. It's all about cheating to get what by they want then gloating. So Harlan Crow has bought himself his own Supreme Court Judge. Along with the Tennessee GOP who expelled Democratic state congressmen and all the GOP assholes trying to destroy women's and LGBT, and other rights, they are a complete and total disgrace.
The changing demographics in this country, including white progressives, will overwhelm them eventually. They are in the kicking and screaming stage now, but will do a lot of damage as they go down. Sadly, it's taking a long time, but eventually I believe they will shrink in size and lose national power. Locally, maybe not, but keep your backward ideas out of my state.

Once again My Cousin Vinny was on last night and after watching 5 minutes of Joe Pesci in this film I thought, “This is one of the reasons why Trump got elected.”
The loveable NY fool. He’s dumb, but he’s genuine. He’s smart when it matters. He’s a little guy fighting against the Yale-educated elite judge. Sure, he’s a liar. He’s not Jerry Gallo or Jerry Callow or whoever. He had to lie so he could play with the elites. And he won. See? You do what you have to do to stick it to the man. He also sticks up for his hot, trashy girlfriend wherever they go. He’s a man’s man. His heart is in the right place.
That movie was incredibly popular. Kids across America grew up watching the VHS of that movie. They love Vinny. He’s crass, but he’s just as good as anyone else, damn it. He outsmarts everyone. He’s a wheeler dealer. He says what he’s thinking. He doesn’t need to wear a damn suit, dammit.

BREAKING: New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur F. Engoron has just ordered Trump’s accounting firm Whitley Penn to hand over crucial tax documents to AG Letitia James.
The a judge has reportedly grown exasperated at Trump’s delay tactics.
This decision is significant because Trump’s accounting firm has previously said it would not comply with any New York request for documents UNLESS the courts intervened.
We’ll they just did.
The order will now force the accounting firm to turn over records—and get a certified public accountant to answer investigators’ questions.
The documents are reportedly at the center of AG Letitia James' $250 million fraud lawsuit.

Fox "News" may be wading into the perjury and obstruction of justice end of the swimming pool in the Dominion defamation law suit. If this lady can back up what she claims here, Fox is in BIG trouble. Caught hiding evidence and lying in sworn discovery responses.

^And the upshot of what was hidden is recordings of Giuliani admitting to Maria Bartiromo, prior to Jan 6, that there WERE NO PROBLEMS with voting machines, that Trump's campaign knew this. It's dispositive evidence that Dominion is right, Fox was lying about what was going on and knew it was lying (AND Trump's campaign was lying about a "stolen" election and KNEW they were lying about it. STILL lying about it to this day).

Are you Tundra not signing your posts? Don’t tell me to shut up. Block me if you don’t like it. JFC.
Anyway, I think we’re all frustrated because the treason is really coming out and Trump is finally being held accountable on numerous fronts, yet a lot of the posters who used to fill these threads seem to have moved on because they go sub very fast and all we get are links and no discussion. It is what it is, I suppose. I miss 2018 (when I first posted here)/2019 when Treason/Mueller threads would fill up within a day or two.
Have you all watched Deep In The Pockets of Texas? Two billionaires have completely radicalized TX state Republicans by funding primary opponents of any Republican who is remotely sane with someone batshit far Right willing to do whatever they want. One of their stated goals is to destroy public education in TX. They are going after all local offices as well radicalizing school boards, city councils, and the like. If they do this in a huge state like TX, they’re doing it in most states.

But yeah we are all frustrated by how long it’s taken. No way would I want to go back to 2018 though much as I love all of you. Much like the banality of evil, actual justice is likely to be boring compared to our dreams of justice. Not to go off topic, but I remember a "psychic" about six years ago claiming she had a "vision" of Dump at some sort of hearing, not in a regular court room, but it looked more like Capitol Hill. He had been advised not to go, but he couldn't resist the attention and the imagery of himself "standing up to tyranny for his people".
The hearing of course went off the rails with him shouting, lying, pointing. The psychic had a shot of Nancy Pelosi, standing there with her arms folded across her chest. Dump's face turned beet red even through the orange spray tan. He suddenly stopped shouting. A strange look came across his face and BAM!, he slammed into the table and slid off to the floor, belly up. Dead. People crowded around. Some guy bent down to check and raised up, shaking his head. I still like this vision.

[quote] In other words, the right-wing media storylines on these topics have already been firmly established. Republicans will have powerful incentives to use the hearing to manufacture more of this same content for that audience. That telegraphs the GOP’s punches in advance, allowing Democrats to prepare to debunk these claims outside the right-wing media bubble.
[quote] Republicans likely don’t see this as a problem. It was a cause for celebration on the right when Tennessee Republicans expelled two young Black lawmakers over protests that erupted in the wake of the horrifying Nashville mass shooting. The idea that mainstream Americans might see those expulsions as a reminder of quasi-pathological GOP inaction on gun violence is unthinkable.

Fox wants to distance themselves more from Trump. CNN is now embracing him enthusiastically, apparently.
From the conservative NY Post:
[quote] The appearance will mark Trump’s first time on CNN’s airwaves in “years,” according to the network’s media correspondent Oliver Darcy. The town hall was announced as CNN pivots toward centrist coverage under the leadership of network president Chris Licht and WarnerBros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav. In February, Zaslav specifically cited an uptick in CNN interviews with Republican lawmakers as a sign of the shift in the network’s approach. Collins, the “CNN This Morning” co-anchor, gets the plum assignment on the heels of her former co-host Don Lemon getting fired by the network last week. Trump has had a combative relationship with CNN since he first announced his run for the White House in 2015.

A simpler explanation, R550 is that they (legacy media in general) follow the metrics of what sells and produce more of that.
But the only consumers left of legacy media are...old and skew conservative.
On a separate note, here's a hot take I have: The jarring leftward jaunt of NPR that people are complaining about (...which I admit frustrates me as well) may not be so much ideological as oppositional branding to the spectrum of Newsweek/NYTimes, etc. What makes it maddening is that they needn't do so as there is a strong market for an objective, neutral reporting agency and NPR is the natural candidate to fill that space.

I live in the country and had the landline connected to the WiFi system at a reduced cost, That is separate frome the cell service. I once needed a backup. Anyway, the non-cell unit is still treated as a landline; and unsolicted callers, including polsters. remain prevalent despite the number being unpublished and being registered on the federal do-not-call-list.
People still with landlines are primarily businesses and older, largerly rural citizens. Including these people in high numbers for polling, indeed can skew the results.
I rarely answer polling questions. They ask personal questions, and one may not know how authenic the caller really is.

IDK if anyone remembers this tidbit of gossip we got a few years back regarding the media - they don’t run the real stories they have because their “access” would be terminated.
The celebs, politicians and business people gives these reporters “access” to information and contacts. If reporters started doing their fucking JOBS and telling us the truth, they would be blackballed by other celebs and politicians.
There are independent and local news orgs that actually DO good reporting and expose a lot of this bullshit but the mainstream media NEVER picks it up. Unless it starts to trend on social media then the MSM outlets will generally poo-poo it.

Old article from 7/21, but pertains to NRA CEO, Wayne LaPierre, and his wife Susan, had furniture, trash can, etc., made from body parts of elephants that were shot during a hunt in Africa. The two had the items secretly shipped to themselves.
This couple may be just as sinister, maybe worse, than Clarence and Ginni Thomas.

If Trump grabbed someone's sister in Tennessee and he shoved his dirty fingers up her pussy, he would have seen the end of a shotgun as a rapist. The court of public opinion does not split hairs like Trump's lawyer, Tackypenis.

Stay tuned. What a delicious day. Trump and Santos. It MUST be fattening!!

David Zaslav, Warner Bros. CEO, and the parent company of CNN, of which Chris Licht is the CEO, stick with their plans to hold a televised town hall featuring Donald Trump the evening of May 10.
Despite the considerable criticism for having this event and this type of forum, Zaslav and Licht defend their decision.
To give Trump an hour of free prime time to say whatever he wants in a friendly platform, and to field questions from chosen supporters, delivers undeserved legitimization. Moderator Kaitlan Collins is no Jim Acosta. Fawning and softball questions appear to be the intention.
These CNN overlords are disgusting

This kind of shit is why I hate Warner Brothers. Hiring James Gunn, firing Henry Cavill, canceling "Titans", allowing Mindy Cowlick to ruin Scooby-Doo, turning "The Wizard of Oz" into "Sex and the City" by saying "It's all about the shoes!". I'm waiting on them to cancel "Superman and Lois" for Gunn's stupid Superman Legacy project (he must have found a twink he wanted to screw).Fuck 'em!
