I always pictured Troy Donahue, Gidget and Frankie & Annette.
How many of these are actual college kids and how many are just troublemaking dealers and local gangbangers and teens looking for a party?

I lived in Galveston some years ago and it once hosted Kappa weekend until business owners in the party zones, sick of the shit, closed up business that weekend. With no places to eat or drink and even some stores closed plus heavier police crackdown it stopped or moved elsewhere. Maybe FL should try that.

Spring Break became “Black” around the time of your 4th abortion, Barbie. Just before you popped out Kelly and claimed she was your baby sister.
As for your question: mainstream Spring Break was what we saw on MTV but HBCU students went to Freaknik in Atlanta. When that ended, the students needed to converge but the dealers and troublemakers have always been there.
When one group gets up to hijinks, it’s “youthful exuberance”, while the other is giving into “their innate criminal tendencies”. Go figure.
Any Greek life event is going to be a disaster, R2 but wherever Kappas or Omegas congregate for a party, just know some shit is about to go down. You couldn’t pay me to attend a party hosted by any of their members.
If any place is going to get trashed, might as well be Galveston. Have always hated that place.

Lived in ATL for several of the worst Freaknik years. Got smart and just hunkered down in my house till it was over.
