He was huge 60 or so years ago but recorded only one song that's still listenable: Venus. So very 1959 teenage kitsch and really kind of adorable. Johnny Mathis recorded it too.

He's always looked really good for his age. Really only had two big hits, "Venus" and "Why", but will always be remembered for those Beach Party movies.

I liked his 1970s disco remake of "Venus," too, not to mention when he re-teamed with Annette in the 1987 "reunion" beach-flick movie "Back To The Beach."
