It has nine seasons from 1974 to 1983 and it was WOKE WOKE WOKE.
Prime example: The series ended when the towns people decided to blow the town up rather than kowtow to an oil company. That's some woke shit right there.

Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman was unironically woke and I loved every moment
I esp loved the “FILTHY IMMIGRANTS!!!” episode where they wanted to burn down the Swedes’ camp lol

Yeah, so woke that Michael Landon had to write in an adopted son because apparently Pa Ingalls was soooo disappointed that Caroline could only squeeze out girl offspring.

Let's do this with other shows & watch all the righties heads explode.
Can anyone do this with their beloved shows Walker Texas Ranger or 24?

Was discussing with some contemporaries who all watched the series. It wasn’t really appropriate for children! Topics like clown rape and pregnancy , burning your sisters baby and best friends mother to death , wishing your baby brother would die and he did , morphine addiction etc were all pretty deep!

The only people who still use "woke" are fat and angry and white.

Yeah. The Waltons, Bonanza, Little House and Highway To Heaven were quite liberal by the standards of time they were made. Many TV writers in the 1960s and 1970s were left-wing and used corny TV shows to express a lot of basic humanist values. It's ironic they are now seen as conservative entertainment.

R9 The funny thing about the "lack of feminism" is most of the plots on Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons were driven by the female characters who were outspoken, intelligent, educated and very involved with their communities and local politics. Bonanza was pretty anti-racist and Highway to Heaven was more New Age and wasn't about proselytizing Christianity but teaching human decency and the Golden Rule. Again, Repugs like to project their bigotry onto these TV shows written by very liberal New Yorkers and Los Angelenos who were often Jewish or atheist.

Michael Landon was liberal and gay-friendly Jewish atheist who inserted his left-wing political views into Little House on the Prairie and Highway To Heaven. Yet right-wing Christians adored him. He fooled them all.

Little House on the Prairie pffft.
More like Little House on the preposterous.

Little House on the prairie is the only show that has ever been courageous enough to tackle the subject of clown rape. 🤡

He was? I always thought Michael Landon was a Republican.

R15, he was a Republican. He publicly supported Nixon and Reagan.
