R159, there is actually a right wing conspiracy though, and the conspiracy is that the “left” beneath surface tokenism is not really egalitarian. They’re actually center right. Like Margaret Sanger with the Eugenics Society. They claim to not be racist but their ethical program is about keeping people who are “good” as defined by them. There were trans people historically who were trans after experiencing their own natural puberty, and many of them lived in a pre-records age where identity was inherently flexible- you didn’t have to be registered as male or female with a government agency.

There wasn’t any surgery or public media or finance involved in that.

There weren’t any historic young people that never experienced their body’s puberty because of medical intervention.

No matter how you spin it- with kids absorbing social prejudice and starting to get ideas of stereotypes at a very early age- it would be hard to argue that having people change sex is the only solution to them feeling uncomfortable about being picked on due to stereotypes. If you changed the surrounding society and the dominance of stereotypes themselves you could achieve that without surgery.

Arguments that it’s still a civil rights movement- even when it’s also a medical industry with protected growth rates- don’t ring true.

When you grow up female- especially if not especially talented or disabled in some way- you could perceive yourself as both disadvantaged and advantaged simultaneously. Disadvantaged, because you could easily feel nudged into a marriage you don’t want or belittled because you’re judged on your money making capacity and viewed as a user and a burden if you spend money you didn’t earn. Against this backdrop, there’s mutual resentment between most women and most men. It’s not only what’s innate, it’s also cultural. A lot of girls read gay fanfics in which the characters resemble women because they want to project themselves as male and protect themselves from the negative user/burden stereotype of being female.

Something similar to the forestry service; basically for anyone, male or female, who wants to work and is not necessarily wanting to or able to work for a large company or high wages. Just something where you could sign up, let people know what your strengths and weaknesses are, and take some work that you could do, and live by yourself if you want to.

It would prevent people despairing about being homeless if they can’t find a job, or being harassed because of personal limitations they don’t have control over.

I think a lot of incel men don’t realize, many women don’t want to have sex with men because of the implied transactional nature of it, if the woman has a worse job or perceives herself as economically inferior. Having universal access to employment- low stress, high tolerance employment that would meet the needs of people who struggle in some way- would probably solve a lot of problems. It could be lower wage government jobs with a guaranteed baseline income and housing.

If women had nothing to fear from men- if they could completely walk away from men, even with low employment ability, and live alone- then there also would not be any need for acrimonious divorce settlements or fears of leaving a marriage from either side - because the economic impact could be minimized for men as well, the economic burden of divorce. This would probably also reduce things like partner violence when the subject of divorce comes up.

The inequalities that men resent so much- like the woman keeping the house, the woman getting paid child support- position her as the dependent of the man. But she doesn’t have to be, if a guaranteed job and housing exists.

The current laws are really unhelpful for anyone who isn’t particularly well off. I’ve seen poor men get enraged about it. They can’t afford to pay; it’s like they are legally being asked to do the impossible. And in an equitable world their wives would have access to jobs and it wouldn’t be about splitting up money that never existed in sufficient quantities in the first place.

Women existed long before high heels, makeup, or shaved legs. Long before the current economy.

If you take all that away - no makeup, no heels, no shaved legs, no self-deprecation due to low economic value- then the stereotype is what? Just that you have some body parts that physically exist.

The reason to hate your body parts? Well I would say it’s probably cultural.

If a trans woman is a woman then I want it to be an experienced part of life, not a slogan that is repeated over and over on social media like it’s something that only exists if you agree to it.
