I'm not sure he's still trying to mimic Elvis's voice. To me, it seems like he's actually adopted Brad Pitt's mannerisms and vocal tics.
Watching the Oscars pre-show interviews, he repeatedly did Pitt's signature "bite the lower lip" and "lick the lower lip" schtick, and (to me) he seems to be imitating Pitt's voice, drawl and speech cadence.
Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes the affectation. He wants to be Brad in Thelma and Louise. The problem is he can’t drop the voice now- that would be admitting his bizarreness. He’s just weird.

Nothing about him seems genuine, he's like a product that came out of nowhere through the sheer force of marketing.

Well I like his commitment to a role at least. I’m just interested if he can do anything else now. He’s almost a caricature at this point.
