DEAD AT 89
ROBERT BLAKE IS DEAD TO ME!
|by Anonymous||reply 164||March 26, 2023 7:29 PM|
|by Anonymous||reply 1||March 9, 2023 11:37 PM|
Mandela effect. I thought he was already dead.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||March 9, 2023 11:38 PM|
OP you are what my Grandmother would call a “crepe hanger” or someone who gets some weird pleasure from announcing deaths to others. You need a new hobby.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||March 9, 2023 11:40 PM|
Heaven gained a murderer. Sweet.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||March 9, 2023 11:41 PM|
I loved him in Los Highway
|by Anonymous||reply 5||March 9, 2023 11:41 PM|
He was crazy but he was perfect in "In Cold Blood." Even looked a lot like Perry Smith. I don't think he killed Bonny Lee Bakley. She was a grifter. She had a lot of enemies.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||March 9, 2023 11:46 PM|
R3 you must be new here.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||March 9, 2023 11:49 PM|
I forgot he bear the murder rap. Thought he was in prison.
When will stupid old men, especially famous ones, learn to wrap their dicks if fuck women under 50.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||March 9, 2023 11:51 PM|
R6, I think he did it but she was a head A scumbag and there were plenty of people who didn’t mind that she was dead. Very unsympathetic victim.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||March 9, 2023 11:52 PM|
[quote] she was a head A scumbag
A what now?
|by Anonymous||reply 10||March 9, 2023 11:54 PM|
Grade A scumbag.
Oh, for an edit button…
|by Anonymous||reply 11||March 9, 2023 11:56 PM|
He was a fantastic actor...he and Anne Heche had the same crazy intensity that always pulled me in. They were both kind of nuts, or at least disturbed.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||March 9, 2023 11:57 PM|
He was batshit crazy and ugly as fick. Thus, having to get involved with a serial grifter whore like Bakley. I too thought he was already dead.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||March 9, 2023 11:59 PM|
His tv show Baretta was a hit.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||March 9, 2023 11:59 PM|
In Cold Blood is one of my all time favorites. One of a few movies I can rewatch multiple times. I have an autographed photo of Scott Wilson .
|by Anonymous||reply 15||March 10, 2023 12:06 AM|
Any clips of him doing pull-ups in his underwear in that film, Electra Glide In Blue?
|by Anonymous||reply 16||March 10, 2023 12:14 AM|
You can take that to the bank!!!
|by Anonymous||reply 17||March 10, 2023 12:23 AM|
R16, closest I could find.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||March 10, 2023 12:23 AM|
Did someone forget their gun?
|by Anonymous||reply 19||March 10, 2023 12:25 AM|
|by Anonymous||reply 20||March 10, 2023 12:25 AM|
Robert Blake called ugly by Orson Welles.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||March 10, 2023 12:26 AM|
I'd have done him back in the day, but he couldn't live forever...
|by Anonymous||reply 22||March 10, 2023 12:27 AM|
I think he killed her. He was great as Perry, for sure.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||March 10, 2023 12:28 AM|
Wasn't he the last of the Little Rascals/Our Gang kids? Are there any still alive?
|by Anonymous||reply 24||March 10, 2023 12:28 AM|
Awww. That's a shame. He was a terrific director. I can't decide whether my favorite is Breakfast at Tiffany's or the Pink Panthers.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||March 10, 2023 12:30 AM|
He was a hot little twunk back in the day.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||March 10, 2023 12:33 AM|
R24 - I would think so - he was one of the youngest alums.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||March 10, 2023 12:34 AM|
R24, Sidney Kibrick is alive at 94.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||March 10, 2023 12:34 AM|
Like all nuts, he was a good actor. What a weirdo. Rest in whatever.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||March 10, 2023 12:34 AM|
He was textbook Ugly Hot.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||March 10, 2023 12:37 AM|
He was also in Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||March 10, 2023 12:37 AM|
He was omnipresent in the '70s.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||March 10, 2023 12:38 AM|
R3 is not a Datalounger.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||March 10, 2023 12:38 AM|
89 is long life .
|by Anonymous||reply 34||March 10, 2023 12:38 AM|
Too late to make the In Memoriam on the Oscars?
|by Anonymous||reply 35||March 10, 2023 12:41 AM|
He was great in In Cold Blood. I enjoyed all his 'inside' references to Sierra Madre. They had nothing to do with Perry Smith, never mentioned in Capote's book, but referenced Blake's first film as a child where he worked opposite Humphrey Bogart.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||March 10, 2023 12:42 AM|
Why haven't they turned the murder case into a TV movie by now? I'm disappointed.
Who could have played Bonny?
|by Anonymous||reply 37||March 10, 2023 12:44 AM|
r24 r28 Isnt Terry Kilburn also part of that group of actors?
|by Anonymous||reply 38||March 10, 2023 12:45 AM|
How many more husbands would Bonnie have had had her life not been so tragically shortened?
|by Anonymous||reply 39||March 10, 2023 12:49 AM|
He's in heaven reunited with Bonnie now, I suppose...
|by Anonymous||reply 40||March 10, 2023 12:50 AM|
Bastard ruined Vitello's for me- it was my favorite Italian restaurant in that area.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||March 10, 2023 12:51 AM|
Whatever you think of his guilt or innocence, he had a fantastic career. Our Gang, acting in films with legends like Joan Crawford, his own series Barretta. Not bad for a little guido like him.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||March 10, 2023 12:53 AM|
I eat old people’s excrement.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||March 10, 2023 12:54 AM|
[quote] His tv show Baretta was a hit.
And he fucked it up. Here he finally had this great gig, a successful tv series, and he was so troublesome that it all got ruined. What a disturbed man he was.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||March 10, 2023 12:58 AM|
|by Anonymous||reply 45||March 10, 2023 12:58 AM|
Had to look him up as I didn't recognize the name. Sidney Kibrick played one of Butch's buddies. He's still alive. Thanks R28.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||March 10, 2023 1:05 AM|
. . .
|by Anonymous||reply 47||March 10, 2023 1:10 AM|
He had a very abusive childhood. His parents were monsters according to a story he told on an interview show.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||March 10, 2023 1:14 AM|
Celebrities die in threes. First was Tom Sizemore and now Blake. Will another male celeb be the third or will be a female celeb?
|by Anonymous||reply 49||March 10, 2023 1:23 AM|
I hate to brag, but I think I mentioned his name in one of DL's Celebrity Death Watch threads.
Orson Welles must've gotten fat "jokes" a lot. His retort sounded like something he had ready just in case.
Vitello's did seem like a nice, old school Italian restaurant. I wouldn't mind eating there.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||March 10, 2023 1:31 AM|
R21 I have not a cloo what the fuck an Orson Wells is but good un. Fattie must be the one that originated that sayin.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||March 10, 2023 1:36 AM|
Fred the cockatoo bird from "Baretta" turned 100 in 2019 - no word if he passed yet (one cockatoo lived until 125, per article).
|by Anonymous||reply 52||March 10, 2023 1:42 AM|
Somebody just put Blake's name on the celebrity death thread a day or two ago - very prescient!
|by Anonymous||reply 53||March 10, 2023 1:43 AM|
Shuch a shweet little man.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||March 10, 2023 1:47 AM|
The death to close out the hat trick will be a woman, undoubtedly.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||March 10, 2023 1:48 AM|
I loathed his deze, demz and doze act. It was so fucking phony. He moved to LA with his family from New Jersey when he was five.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||March 10, 2023 2:00 AM|
R25 Go back to sleep Rose. You were talking while awake again.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||March 10, 2023 2:03 AM|
Lord take a murderous sexual freak to your bosom.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||March 10, 2023 2:10 AM|
That whore deserves what she got.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||March 10, 2023 2:14 AM|
I thought this would become the next OJ case in the press because it was so obvious he did it. But the press wasn't much interested in it because he was old and ugly and a has-been when it happened, and because both he and the murder victim were so impossibly seedy.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||March 10, 2023 2:17 AM|
The murder of his wife ruined his career - or what was left of it.
|by Anonymous||reply 61||March 10, 2023 2:21 AM|
Rose mentioned Hell Town on The Golden Girls.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||March 10, 2023 2:24 AM|
I loved him as Baretta, but he treated his Daughter Rosie ( the daughter with BLB) like dirt. She tried to reconnect with him, even though he killed her mother. He did talk to her and then told her he didn't want to talk to her again. Miserable bastard. R.I.P.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||March 10, 2023 2:25 AM|
Mustering every ounce of his acting abilities........
|by Anonymous||reply 64||March 10, 2023 2:26 AM|
His eyes were demonic
|by Anonymous||reply 65||March 10, 2023 2:31 AM|
|by Anonymous||reply 66||March 10, 2023 2:36 AM|
R50 Can you use your magic death watch powers on Trump and Mitch, please?
|by Anonymous||reply 67||March 10, 2023 2:46 AM|
FUUUUUCCCCK, I JINXED him!
|by Anonymous||reply 68||March 10, 2023 2:50 AM|
[quote] he treated his Daughter Rosie ( the daughter with BLB) like dirt. She tried to reconnect with him, even though he killed her mother. He did talk to her and then told her he didn't want to talk to her again.
Here's daughter Rosie. She doesn't seem to have any undue bad feelings towards R. Blake. Rosie was raised by a much-older sister, actually (an older daughter of R. Blake).
|by Anonymous||reply 69||March 10, 2023 2:54 AM|
I really really really thought he was dead already.
Maybe I have been confusing him with Phil Spector of all people?
|by Anonymous||reply 70||March 10, 2023 2:56 AM|
I’m just always grateful he gave us his son Noah, who was gorgeously muscular and always open-shirted or -vested, or else shirtless, on the syndicated TV series version of “Harry & The Hendersons” in the ‘80s.
|by Anonymous||reply 71||March 10, 2023 3:02 AM|
R69, poor kid
|by Anonymous||reply 72||March 10, 2023 3:02 AM|
"That's the name of that tune!"
|by Anonymous||reply 73||March 10, 2023 3:04 AM|
R49, that's already been achieved. Topol died 3-8-2023, aged 87.
|by Anonymous||reply 74||March 10, 2023 3:09 AM|
|by Anonymous||reply 75||March 10, 2023 3:09 AM|

[quote] I loathed his deze, demz and doze act.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||March 10, 2023 3:12 AM|
He should have stayed with Eartha Kitt, they made a sexy couple.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||March 10, 2023 3:13 AM|
White people didn’t care about his case like they cared about the OJ case.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||March 10, 2023 3:18 AM|
The Israeli actor Topol, who was nominated for an Oscar for "Fiddler On The Roof", died on March 8 at age 87. Is he the third?
|by Anonymous||reply 81||March 10, 2023 3:19 AM|
Never marry a woman who's had 9 previous husbands by her early 40s
|by Anonymous||reply 82||March 10, 2023 3:22 AM|
Oh no, TOPOL died? Millions of smokers everywhere will be inconsolable!
|by Anonymous||reply 83||March 10, 2023 3:23 AM|
And that’s the name of that tune.
|by Anonymous||reply 84||March 10, 2023 3:27 AM|
A professional manipulator and whore, gets her ass blown away. Robert Blake was a national treasure.
|by Anonymous||reply 85||March 10, 2023 3:35 AM|
Robert Blake/Michael Gubitosi was a complete asshole. Yes, his parents were the worst and his psychotic mother was schizophrenic. I can understand him needing to get away from them. He lived much of his childhood in the second-floor apartment of my family home, with my great-aunt Margaret. The only one in the family that took care of him and gave him love and affection. When she died in 1987, he couldn't have cared less. Fuck you Michael Gubitosi...
Signed your third cousin Joe, who became Margaret's world and I hope she never gave your selfish ass another thought.
She was warm, kind, and strict, as a devout Catholic, but she was my favorite aunt.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||March 10, 2023 3:44 AM|
Topol was second; Robert Blake was third.
|by Anonymous||reply 87||March 10, 2023 4:50 AM|
Perhaps it's been more than three.
Ricou Browning, the Creature From the Black Lagoon, died March 1.
|by Anonymous||reply 88||March 10, 2023 4:53 AM|
His big dick couldn’t live forever.
|by Anonymous||reply 89||March 10, 2023 5:10 AM|
R85, Blake was no prize himself, why do you think he married her? But I guess she deserved to die because she was a "whore"
|by Anonymous||reply 90||March 10, 2023 5:12 AM|
R86, he SUPPORTED his a-hole parents and siblings from the age of THREE. That's bound to make some people a little crazy...
|by Anonymous||reply 91||March 10, 2023 5:21 AM|
Thanks, R73. I was trying to remember that catchphrase of his.
|by Anonymous||reply 92||March 10, 2023 5:27 AM|
R81, R87 - R74 already mentioned the third, Topol.
|by Anonymous||reply 93||March 10, 2023 5:31 AM|
His character Mickey was the absolute WORST of the Our Gang comedies....especially when he had to cry.....well maybe Janet was worse....but he was a close second.
|by Anonymous||reply 94||March 10, 2023 5:41 AM|
R93, I was addressing R81, who asked if Topol was the third.
|by Anonymous||reply 95||March 10, 2023 5:44 AM|
I thought his Johnny Carson appearances were very funny. He was such a mess...one time he did an appearance where he was wearing a shirt turned inside out. It was funny as hell.
|by Anonymous||reply 96||March 10, 2023 5:50 AM|
Yes, R95, but if R81 read through the thread R74 already addressed it - no further queries necessary.
|by Anonymous||reply 97||March 10, 2023 5:52 AM|
I didn't make a 'query,' R97. I made a comment, which I have every right to do, your sock-expressed annoyance notwithstanding.
|by Anonymous||reply 98||March 10, 2023 5:57 AM|
[quote][R24], Sidney Kibrick is alive at 94
I thought his movie "Barry Lyndon" was SO boring!
|by Anonymous||reply 99||March 10, 2023 5:59 AM|
|by Anonymous||reply 100||March 10, 2023 6:02 AM|
Not one "You betchum, Red Ryder!" mention? Can it be the really ancient elder-gheys finally all died off?
|by Anonymous||reply 101||March 10, 2023 6:03 AM|
R96, his appearances on Tom Snyder's Tomorrow Show were a freak show. A freak show with a full ashtray. Those were the days.
|by Anonymous||reply 102||March 10, 2023 6:24 AM|
A long haphazard chaotic life, but hopefully now at peace.
|by Anonymous||reply 103||March 10, 2023 6:33 AM|

Ignorant as a stump and damned proud of it!
|by Anonymous||reply 104||March 10, 2023 8:22 AM|
R104 Not really. I have decided to mis spell ,most of wut I fucking right just to puiss you fucking nazee cunts awff.
|by Anonymous||reply 105||March 10, 2023 9:12 AM|
He must’ve been a real inspiration to little people.
|by Anonymous||reply 106||March 10, 2023 9:28 AM|
He had a long run. RIP Mr. Blake.
|by Anonymous||reply 107||March 10, 2023 9:51 AM|
I read his harrowing autobio. What a weird, wild life. And Baretta was one of the best TV shows ever.
|by Anonymous||reply 108||March 10, 2023 10:00 AM|
I genuinely thought he died a couple of months ago. Was there an article about him being sick, maybe?
|by Anonymous||reply 109||March 10, 2023 10:01 AM|
I watched Baretta when I was a kid. Blake wasn't ugly or handsome. He was an appealing little character.
|by Anonymous||reply 110||March 10, 2023 10:05 AM|
He was a very good actor. He was great in, "In Cold Blood". I enjoyed him in Barretta, too. He's one of the rare actors who started as a young child... and successfully continued acting into adulthood.
|by Anonymous||reply 111||March 10, 2023 10:09 AM|
|by Anonymous||reply 112||March 10, 2023 11:19 AM|
When I was a kid, I remember seeing him in his tighty whities in "Electra Glide in Blue" and getting turned on. He had a muscular, hunky body.
|by Anonymous||reply 113||March 10, 2023 11:22 AM|
He probably sampled the man-sex.
Obligatory statement on DL.
|by Anonymous||reply 114||March 10, 2023 11:25 AM|

Would I have had a chance with you too, then?
|by Anonymous||reply 116||March 10, 2023 11:58 AM|
[quote] He had a muscular, hunky body.
He had a compact body because he was barely 5 feet in heels.
|by Anonymous||reply 117||March 10, 2023 11:59 AM|
His compact body is dead.
|by Anonymous||reply 118||March 10, 2023 12:01 PM|
He was very short, very crazy and marginally talented.
And he killed that grifter Bonnie. He's dead. Good.
What I find more appalling is somebody posting here who doesn't know who Robert Blake or Orson Wells is.
|by Anonymous||reply 119||March 10, 2023 12:48 PM|
The Blake case was the first time I heard the expression “they needed killing “ .
|by Anonymous||reply 120||March 10, 2023 1:02 PM|

At 5'4" Blake was a homunculus.
|by Anonymous||reply 122||March 10, 2023 1:29 PM|
R36, "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" was far from Blake's first film.
|by Anonymous||reply 123||March 10, 2023 2:35 PM|
Bonny Lee Bakley was married ten times. Her eighth husband, Glynn Wolfe was married 31 times. Glynn Wolfe's TWENTY-EIGHTH wife was Linda Taylor, who has been married 23 times.
|by Anonymous||reply 124||March 10, 2023 3:20 PM|
Count me in as one of those who thought he died a long time ago.
|by Anonymous||reply 125||March 10, 2023 3:25 PM|
R125 His soul died about 25 years ago. That's probably what you were thinking of.
|by Anonymous||reply 126||March 10, 2023 3:27 PM|
Definitely awakened the young gayling in me in the "Barretta" and "In Cold Blood" years.
|by Anonymous||reply 127||March 10, 2023 3:40 PM|
Hold up R112, is that real?
|by Anonymous||reply 128||March 10, 2023 3:43 PM|
No mention of his passing on The View despite it being the network that carried Baretta. Barbara Walters did a legendary interview with him.

Thank God none of them were GAY marriages, because that would go against the sanctity of holy matrimony.
|by Anonymous||reply 132||March 10, 2023 7:49 PM|
We wouldn't have permitted either. We're consistent. ^
|by Anonymous||reply 133||March 10, 2023 8:03 PM|
R128, it's a parody account.
|by Anonymous||reply 134||March 10, 2023 8:42 PM|
I married Rita Hayworth. You married Bonny Lee Bakely.
|by Anonymous||reply 135||March 10, 2023 9:26 PM|
If only they'd not cancelled Toma because hot, sexy Tony Musante only wanted to do one season, we'd have forgotten Robert Blake.
|by Anonymous||reply 136||March 10, 2023 9:40 PM|
R38 Terry Kilburn was never in the Our Gang/Little Rascals films. He made many movies for MGM in the 1930s and '40s. He's still alive at 96! And gay. His partner of over 50 years, actor Charles Nolte, died in January 2010.
|by Anonymous||reply 137||March 11, 2023 11:08 AM|
He's not going anywhere.
|by Anonymous||reply 138||March 11, 2023 2:44 PM|
Won't be missed. Gurl, bye!
|by Anonymous||reply 139||March 12, 2023 9:30 PM|
He was so fucked in the head that he won't know he is in hell.
|by Anonymous||reply 140||March 12, 2023 9:36 PM|
[quote]He was so fucked in the head that he won't know he is in hell.
Maybe he'll figure it out when he sees Bonnie there giving him the stink eye.
|by Anonymous||reply 141||March 12, 2023 11:32 PM|
Blake was a lot more sympathetic than Bonnie Lee. At least he had acting talent. The only talents she had were lying and spreading her legs.
|by Anonymous||reply 142||March 13, 2023 1:29 AM|
Bonnie’s beaver shots were horrifying. You could actually smell the stinky pussy and ass when looking at them.
|by Anonymous||reply 143||March 13, 2023 2:09 AM|
[quote]Blake was a lot more sympathetic than Bonnie Lee. At least he had acting talent. The only talents she had were lying and spreading her legs.
For which she paid with her life, courtesy of a husband who was sufficiently brain-damaged to marry her in the first place.
|by Anonymous||reply 144||March 13, 2023 2:13 AM|
Jimmy Kimmel took quite a shot (no pun intended) at Blake at the Oscars last night.
|by Anonymous||reply 145||March 13, 2023 11:45 AM|
And no, he wasn't in the In Memoriam.
|by Anonymous||reply 146||March 13, 2023 12:19 PM|
Those clips of Blake on Johnny Carson were fucking disturbing. Buddy seems seriously brain damaged. Way too much fucking white privilege from that fuckhead.
|by Anonymous||reply 147||March 13, 2023 12:21 PM|
Blake wasn't in the memorials at the Oscars last night...didn't see it. I also noticed that TCM hasn't done a "TCM remembers" on him either.
|by Anonymous||reply 148||March 13, 2023 12:30 PM|
He's been in Hollywood since a kid, and has done movies....notably "In Cold Blood". Regardless of his personal like, should have been included.

[quote] Blake wasn't in the memorials at the Oscars last night...didn't see it. I also noticed that TCM hasn't done a "TCM remembers" on him either.
Several people were left out of the Oscar memorial: Anne Heche, Tom Sizemore among them. TCM doesn't do TCM Remembers spots for most actors, only a selected few.

I still think somebody pays AMPAS to get their dead non-actor relatives on the broadcast.....make that coin.

Jimmy Kimmel was a dick to do that to Robert Blake's family. They're still in the mourning.

He had a batshit crazy appearance on Piers Morgan's CNN show after he was acquitted for killing his ho. Started off wearing a leather jacket then moved to a leather vest, no shirt underneath. I think he may have threatened to walk off and I believe Piers told him he felt threatened or that Blake wanted to fight him. Ranted about owning half of Santa Monica, blah blah blah. His dad's brother was his daddy which meant that the man who raised him hated him because he was the product of an affair that his wife had with his own brother. A complete mess. I'm surprised he made it to 89, but I guess that's just a testament to his scrappy nature.
