Courteney Cox gets candid about fillers: ‘I messed up a lot’
Just call it “The One Where Courteney Cox Talks Fillers.”
In a new episode of the “Gloss Angeles” podcast, Courteney Cox spoke to hosts Kirbie Johnson and Sarah Tan Christensen about her past use (and overuse) of anti-aging injectables, calling it her biggest beauty regret.
“It’s a domino effect,” the 58-year-old “Friends” star said. “You don’t realize that you look a little off, so then you keep doing more, ‘cause you look normal to yourself.”
Recalled Cox, “You look in the mirror and go, ‘Oh, that looks good’ … You don’t realize what it looks like to the outside person.”
After “doing too many fillers,” the star said she “[had] to have them removed.”
“Thank God they are removable,” she continued. “I messed up a lot and now luckily … I was able to reverse most of that.”
What’s more, Cox said her overall approach to aging has changed in the years since.
“Thinking I was getting older when I was really young, that’s just a bummer, a waste of time,” she concluded.
This isn’t the first time Cox has talked about her dissolving her fillers and regretting the work she’s had done.

A video someone posted on another thread said injectables often leave scar tissue and don’t necessarily dissipate back to normal.

She looked beautiful at the Scream 6 premiere and fairly normal. There were a few years there where the fillers were really obvious. It seemed to start around the time of Scream 4.

At least she didn't mess with her lips.

I don't get it: you don't get to remove fillers, unless your name is Priscilla Presley and your doctor is a quack who bought used silicone from the car mechanic next door. Instead you just need to be patient and depending on what kind of fillers you got, they're fully out of your body six to eighteen months later. Unless maybe if you use Sculptra, which I know very little about.

Fillers like Juvaderm dissolve over time. ….if they look awful, they can inject you with something ( forgot the name) to dissolve them faster

Jennifer's looking pretty rubbery these days. Guess she didn't learn anything from Courtney's mistakes.

She successfully got them removed? Can someone give her number to Madonna?

I get it. I remember I was on a mission to lose weight and I went too far. I look back at pictures now and I go OMG I looked like I had an eating disorder.
So I understand how that could work with plastic surgery.

Me to R9. I thought I looked fabulous while friends asked if I had cancer

She's bizarrely unlikable and uncharismatic. Like Nicole Kidman but with less acting talent.

Good for her for admitting to this, it takes a lot of courage to admit that you took it too far - a lot of celebrities could and should take note. She was always naturally very beautiful.

Her acting on Friends consisted on speaking very loud.

The problem is the same as with plastic surgeons. You need someone who administers the injections who will tell you no more, anything more will look bad. You get into trouble if you have someone who says, sure, it’s your money, I’ll inject as much as you want. I’m sure that’s what happened to Courtney. An ethical doctor or aesthetician would have talked her out of going past a normal look.

[quote] I thought I looked fabulous while friends asked if I had cancer
I know I never look good, but I just try to vary the degree so I don’t look quite as bad as I could.

Pretty sure she had eye work as well - blepharoplasty, which works on the upper lids. Not obvious from the pictures already shown so I've linked to an old article showing how she looked in Friends. Probably a (bad) facelift, too.
When a celebrity admits to cosmetic work, they rarely admit to ALL they had done. Case in point: Kylie Minogue's sister, Dannii (yes, that really is her - stupid - name). Has talked about using too much botox when she clearly had her whole face remade and her tits done in the 90s.

Funny you mention all that because everyone mentions how much a blepharoplasty improves ones looks and yet she was 1000 times prettier with her more hooded eyes. As was Faye Dunaway.
Yeah there are certain things (like a smaller nose) that pretty much all look better but these eye lift and lift augmentation obsessions are NOT one of them.
She actually does look much better if she would just let her lips go back to normal she would look pretty damn great.

Actually, I think she comes across as pretty likable.
When she was on the Smartless podcast, Jason Bateman was saying she’s the person who is there for all of her friends when they are going through tough times.
Hard not to like that.

R11 probably why Courtney is good at playing bitchy characters like Gale Weathers. But i also liked her in Cougar Town.
R16 sometimes it works depending on the celebrity. Taylor Swift got her eyes done and i think she looks better. Of course she will never admit to it or the very obvious boob job. But other times it makes them look off, like Nina Dobrev. She was already pretty with her hooded eyes.

R16 simple upper brow work can be done right in the PS office with little down time…I wonder if the celebrities that had it down this way feel it doesn’t at count anymore than gettin Botox because they weren’t knocked out

It could be r19…having Juvaderm and Botox, for me the fillers would last about 10 month before they completely dissolved on their own.

According to this article, MRI images show that fillers don't really ever go away.

I can attest that filler that I had in the nasolabial folds years ago has left something behind. I can feel the line under my skin. I’m not complaining though, since it saves a lot of money not having to repeat the process every so often.

I think fillers don't always dissolve and, yes, you can get filler removed.
R17, I'm starting to appreciate people's natural noses more. All of these celebrities are whittling down their noses. Why?
