Must have been a gruesome discovery for her.

Who was he wearing inside of there?

by Anonymousreply 1March 8, 2023 1:35 AM

We've been saying it for years - the closet kills.

by Anonymousreply 2March 8, 2023 1:36 AM

On his IPod

by Anonymousreply 3March 8, 2023 1:37 AM

No smell ?

by Anonymousreply 4March 8, 2023 1:37 AM

How is the wife not a suspect?

by Anonymousreply 5March 8, 2023 1:38 AM

He just disappeared, then he appeared! 🤔

by Anonymousreply 6March 8, 2023 1:38 AM

How could he have been "mummified" if there was no foul play?!

by Anonymousreply 7March 8, 2023 1:40 AM

R5, exactly. You've gotta be shitting me that she had nothing to do with it.

by Anonymousreply 8March 8, 2023 1:40 AM

[quote]police noticed a "sewer-like" smell inside the residence, which they described as a "hoarder home."

Couldnt find her dead husband, but the hoarding bitch sure managed to fish out some old Christmas tat decorations located in a tote behind a hidden cupboard underneath a stairwell alright.

by Anonymousreply 9March 8, 2023 1:41 AM

[quote] Kelly Rogers, the county's chief deputy coroner, told the outlet that police noticed a "sewer-like" smell inside the residence, which they described as a "hoarder home."

Ewww

by Anonymousreply 10March 8, 2023 1:41 AM

R5, the coroner determined it was a suicide.

by Anonymousreply 11March 8, 2023 1:43 AM

sniff...sniff...

"What's that smell?"

"Christmas"

by Anonymousreply 12March 8, 2023 1:44 AM

So...what was in her mind for eight months? He said..."Honey, I'll get some decorations from the closet." She didn't think to look for him after a while...a day or two? Very weird.

by Anonymousreply 13March 8, 2023 1:46 AM

ā€œRed, green or Christmas?ā€

by Anonymousreply 14March 8, 2023 1:47 AM

Oh Dawn, not on Christmas.

by Anonymousreply 15March 8, 2023 1:50 AM

This is so Gremlins! šŸŽ„šŸŽ…šŸ¼

by Anonymousreply 16March 8, 2023 1:50 AM

He called his wife to say he was leaving work early, then he went home and, before she got home, committed suicide in a back closet where she wouldn't think of looking until Christmas.

Cray?

by Anonymousreply 17March 8, 2023 1:51 AM

8 months in the closet? Big deal. I've been in the closet for 69 years.

by Anonymousreply 18March 8, 2023 1:53 AM

Did you read the article r13?

by Anonymousreply 19March 8, 2023 1:54 AM

R19...No, I didn't...obviously. I now see I got it wrong...

by Anonymousreply 20March 8, 2023 1:56 AM

That wasn't a small man. How shitty were her homemaking skills and general environmental awareness that she didn't notice a large mass of something being in the closet and smelling like death for 8 months.

by Anonymousreply 21March 8, 2023 1:57 AM

If this was a hoarder house, it probably always smelled...so didn't notice it. There could have been dead carcasses already, like mice, etc.

by Anonymousreply 22March 8, 2023 2:01 AM

r21, they were hoarders, apparently, and the closet was a hidden one that they didn't use much

by Anonymousreply 23March 8, 2023 2:12 AM

She may have just thought it was a dead possum or cat in the hoard. No biggie

by Anonymousreply 24March 8, 2023 2:15 AM

You people are so judgmental. My husband was in the closet for decades and I never noticed.

by Anonymousreply 25March 8, 2023 2:33 AM

R2 I fucking love you, bitch!

by Anonymousreply 26March 8, 2023 2:35 AM

Maybe he thought he was Harry Potter.

by Anonymousreply 27March 8, 2023 2:45 AM

Hanging around or on closets is never a good idea.

by Anonymousreply 28March 8, 2023 2:48 AM

What causes a person to choose a delayed-discovery approach to suicide? He killed himself inside a seldom-accessed storage area within a closet, so he didn’t want to be discovered immediately after the suicide. He wanted the discovery to happen later. Would a person do such a thing if they really hated the presumed discoverer and wanted to make the whole affair as miserable as possible? What else could be the objective?

by Anonymousreply 29March 8, 2023 3:13 AM

I can understand that finding a loved one's body, especially in such circumstances, can be an extremely traumatic and heartbreaking experience. It's important to show empathy and compassion for the woman who discovered her husband's body and to offer support to those who are grieving in any way possible. It's also essential to remember that mental health issues and depression can be serious and potentially fatal conditions, and seeking help and support is crucial for those who are struggling with them.

by Anonymousreply 30March 8, 2023 3:17 AM

Tell me more about this man and his choices.

by Anonymousreply 31March 8, 2023 3:22 AM

R29 - he was tired of living with a hoarder. It's probably the only clean space he could find to kill himself.

by Anonymousreply 32March 8, 2023 3:26 AM

Why was he closeted?

by Anonymousreply 33March 8, 2023 3:27 AM

How many gallons of Poo-Pouri did she go thru ?

by Anonymousreply 34March 8, 2023 3:31 AM

😁 Was she on vacation for 8 months, halfway around the world?

by Anonymousreply 35March 8, 2023 3:33 AM

This story is weird. Why didn’t she tell police that there was a storage area when they were searching the house? Actually, why didn’t she check herself since his car was out front? I don’t believe her.

by Anonymousreply 36March 8, 2023 3:36 AM

"Olly olly oxen freeeeee!"

72 hrs later

"Guys? Guys? Hey, you guys this isn't funny! Guys....?"

by Anonymousreply 37March 8, 2023 3:38 AM

She probably told him to kill himself in the hidden space. Clearly they were not close.

by Anonymousreply 38March 8, 2023 3:43 AM

[quote] He said..."Honey, I'll get some decorations from the closet."

What is this, fanfic? That didn't happen.

She came home and his car was there but she couldn't find him. She did report a smell and the cops searched a second time, but it was a hoarder house and the smell apparently wasn't enough to overwhelm the smell of all the stuff they hoarded.

by Anonymousreply 39March 8, 2023 6:33 AM

I wonder if she'll remarry soon.

by Anonymousreply 40March 8, 2023 6:49 AM

An uncomfortable topic that hard to discuss are the "spite suicides". There was a guy in my friend group named Bill. On the day he hanged himself in his garage, his younger brother had just arrived for an annual visit, with his two small kids in tow. Bill's mother was also staying with him at the time.

That night, he texted his bf to tell his that he had just barebacked some rando from Grindr. Their relationship was not open. Bill's intention was to get a rise out of his bf, and provoke a breakup. They did break up.

So at some point in the night, Bill went out to the garage and hanged himself. Luckily, those kids didn't wake up first. His mother was the one to find his body the next morning.

But what if those kids had woken up first? They would have been traumatized for life. He engineered that night to coincide with his brother's visit.

I edited his memorial video. Looking back, I regret participating in his "celebration of life" memorial. Bill was a piece of shit to his bf and family.

by Anonymousreply 41March 8, 2023 7:01 AM

I’m sure I don’t know anything about it!

by Anonymousreply 42March 8, 2023 7:23 AM

R39, the article didn’t say that the smell in the house was too overpowering to notice the smell. The body was in a mummified state and didn’t give off much odor, which is why it took so long to find.

That’s the interesting part in the article, and I would love to know how the body ended up mummified in a closet.

by Anonymousreply 43March 8, 2023 7:48 AM

She never mentioned the storage closet to police during the not one but two searches they did previously? Just slipped her mind?

Whatever, bitch got away with it. Good luck finding evidence when the body's been moldering away for eight months.

by Anonymousreply 44March 8, 2023 7:49 AM

I hope Renee Zelwegger plays her in the tv mini series.

by Anonymousreply 45March 8, 2023 2:03 PM

DNA can be detected on the oldest of evidence. It doesn't take much at all. Some really old cold cases have been solved many years later.

by Anonymousreply 46March 8, 2023 2:08 PM

[quote]Kelly Rogers, the county's chief deputy coroner, told the outlet that police noticed a "sewer-like" smell inside the residence, which they described as a "hoarder home."

[quote] Rogers told KTVI that the body was in a mummified state, explaining that it might not have a strong odor — which could be why it took so long to find it.

To me, that sounds like "the house already smelled like sewer and the smell of the body wasn't strong enough to overpower the hoarder stench."

by Anonymousreply 47March 8, 2023 2:10 PM

Creative.

by Anonymousreply 48March 8, 2023 2:26 PM

When husband went missing, cops probably took a cursory look inside the house and could no longer stand the stench and wanted to GTFO. That's no excuse, though.

It's possible that both husband and wife were hoarders.

Weird that it was a hoarder house, yet there was space for husband to quietly commit suicide. Seems like a hoarder would fill up every known nook and cranny.

Also weird that wife wanted to decorate for Christmas. Decorate what? A hoard?

I hope the cops aren't being lazy about investigating cause of death. The house was probably still smelling like a sewer, but they needed to properly document the area surrounding the body.

by Anonymousreply 49March 8, 2023 7:36 PM

Shut your whore mouth R30. Nobody fucking asked, frau cunt.

by Anonymousreply 50March 8, 2023 7:58 PM

It sounds like he had an autopsy and no foul play. He was probably too big for her to get in there anyway.

Anyone ever read "A Sight For Sore Eyes" by Ruth Rendell? It has a similar stowed away corpse.

by Anonymousreply 51March 8, 2023 8:16 PM

On his VCR ....

Hey, those towering stacks of take-out menus aren't gonna betinsel themselves!

by Anonymousreply 53March 8, 2023 8:25 PM

WTF! I had a dead mouse in my closet that I could not find, and the smell was nausiating. Even after I found the mouse, the smell lingered for weeks.

by Anonymousreply 54March 8, 2023 8:41 PM

How was the body mummified? That is strange.

There was that missing person case in SF a year or two ago and they ultimately found him in a crawl space. Hiding your death is the new rage.

by Anonymousreply 55March 8, 2023 8:47 PM

I live in NYC. My next door neighbor died. I discovered her body about 5 days later. Already the smell was horrific. 8 months of that? How bad the hoarder house must’ve been.

by Anonymousreply 56March 8, 2023 9:05 PM

My damn luck. He’s finally stiff but he’s no use to me now.

by Anonymousreply 57March 8, 2023 9:14 PM

When did People Magazine start reporting on all these horrible ways of people dying?

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 58March 8, 2023 9:22 PM

Ironically none of these people in People are people any longer.

by Anonymousreply 59March 8, 2023 9:33 PM

I'm guessing if he was secreted in a little room with no oxygen flow the smell would have been contained somewhat

by Anonymousreply 60March 8, 2023 10:25 PM

He must have been buried in a pile of mummified cats.

by Anonymousreply 61March 8, 2023 10:33 PM

Occam's razor: the crazy hoarder wife locked him inside that storage room.

by Anonymousreply 62March 8, 2023 10:49 PM

Original Mouseketeer Dennis Day had a similar death. Except he was murdered by a Dane Cook lookalike.

by Anonymousreply 63March 8, 2023 11:12 PM

Maybe this was the husband's last act of love for this wife. He knew she was a hoarder who never threw anything away, so he knew she would want to keep his body and he found the perfect place to store it for her and did. That's love. Don't judge.

by Anonymousreply 64March 9, 2023 5:21 AM

There was a woman who died in her bedsit in the UK from what was presumed to be an asthma attack, and because her bills were automatically paid, no one discovered her for a year or more. Neighbors said they smelled something but they just thought it was the trash from the dumpster outside. Sometimes circumstances are just right and the usually obvious smell isn't obvious.

by Anonymousreply 65March 9, 2023 9:33 AM

R63's is eye-popping. The murderer "hid his body under a pile of clothes" and it took police 9 months and a sniffer dog to find it???

They should have sent in a teenager's mom.
