Apologies if this has already been discussed. I understand that the whistleblower plans to donate his cut of the qui tam funds to legitimate AIDS research organizations. This link is rather dry, but there are salacious articles to be found about the work environment.

Adding a more salacious link and then giving up.

The acronym CHEST is either brilliant or unforgivably awful.

This is a wild story and your thread is the first I've heard of it. The article at R2 links to a NY Post piece that begins:
[quote]A star Hunter College psychology professor and sex and drug researcher is accused of snorting cocaine at school events and throwing annual bashes that grew from low-key pizza parties into binge-drinking and go-go-boy bacchanals, according to sources and official documents.
And, R4, it gets worse. Per the Post, "his acolytes dubbed themselves 'chesticles.'"
I'm never surprised by star academics behaving badly, but the financial abuse was interesting because it's so much easier to prove than some of the personal allegations.

The party was called the CHEST fest.
Sex and drugs researcher who put someone else’s money where his mouth was.

The level of apparent collusion (of course they deny all wrongdoing) by the administration at Hunter is just breathtaking as well.
