I'm a bit obsessed with the Hollywood sign and Peg Entwistle
after reading a Vanity Fair article about the sign. I'm also fascinated by the story of Peg Entwistle, the young actress who leapt to her death from the sign at the age of 24 in 1932.
Her life story is so sad, after some success in New York she was struggling in LA. She was living with her aunt and uncle at 2434 North Beachwood Blvd, a street that goes to the base of the hill where the Hollywood sign is located. She had lost her parents by the time she was 12 and her marriage ended when she learned her husband already had a wife and child that he neglected to mention.

Left out of the article at R1 is that the actor who dumped her, Robert Keith, was the father of “Uncle Bill” Brian Keith, who also committed suicide.

OP, I just read the same article and while I knew about Peg, I thought the article overall was charming. If you like vintage Hollywood crime, look into the unsolved death of Thelma Todd - it’s one of my favorite cold cases from early Hollywood.
