Anyone planning to watch Daisy Jones?

I hate everything she's wearing
by Anonymous | reply 1 | March 3, 2023 12:52 AM |
Honey, put your ugly saggy tits away.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | March 3, 2023 12:52 AM |
Love her. She starred in The Girlfriend Experience on Starz and was riveting.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 3, 2023 12:53 AM |
The photos get worse and worse on there. She looks as ill as her mom.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | March 3, 2023 12:53 AM |
I guess she doesn't want to talk about her mother, because Lisa wasn't brought up at all on two of Riley's recent talk show appearances.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 3, 2023 12:57 AM |
I thought the book was forgettable. (The song lyrics at the end were so freaking cheesy.) Just put on the series. Ten minutes in and it feels like a "Behind the Music" episode. Not a good sign they managed to improve on the unremarkable source material.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 3, 2023 1:01 AM |
Nepotism, baby.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 3, 2023 1:10 AM |
[quote]I thought the book was forgettable
I found it unreadable. It was written as an oral history but every character sounded the same.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 3, 2023 1:14 AM |
Oh my word, what a sight. She looks far too thin to be in a healthy weight postpartum. Grief and stress have taken their toll. Wishing her well.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | March 3, 2023 1:36 AM |
Riley seems to have SJP Horseface Syndrome.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | March 3, 2023 1:39 AM |
The character Riley plays is supposed to be a teenager? Lol. Awful casting, Riley is 33 and looks every bit of it.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 3, 2023 3:40 AM |
Damn. What is it with these women flashing their fried egg titties ???
by Anonymous | reply 12 | March 3, 2023 4:15 AM |
r2 I like her, too. I became a fan after The Lodge and I plan on watching Daisy Jones & The Six.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | March 3, 2023 4:19 AM |
She looks like she's addicted too.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 3, 2023 4:26 AM |
Wait, why is an Asian man playing Merv Griffith?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 3, 2023 6:03 AM |
She looked pretty healthy on Colbert.
Colbert didn’t mention her mom at all. I guess that was a condition of her appearance.
Didn’t know she was even an actress, I thought she was just a fashion model.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 3, 2023 6:19 AM |
The reviews aren't that good, so I'm not watching it.
I heard about Priscilla Presley being involved in some new Elvis themed project and I thought, "Didn't she just die?"
Then I realized I was thinking of Naomi Judd.
Forgot about Lisa Marie.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 3, 2023 6:24 AM |
What happened to Sam Claflin, he used to ooze charisma, but he doesn’t have an once of it here and he’s really not projecting lead singer of a band. He’s just a cardboard character that they’re moving around the set.

“Nothing can prepare you for the sheer lunacy on display”

by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 3, 2023 10:29 AM |
I have watched the first three episode.
Daisy Jones and The Six is more than watchable. However, it is not great by any stretch of the imagination.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 6, 2023 3:37 PM |
She's good in other projects - even though she's obviously beautiful, she has an "every woman" quality about her, but DJ received bad reviews as a Fleetwood Mac ripoff. Given that her mother & brother died in a period of about two years, it would be unkind to bring something like that up when she's out there to sell a TV show, not a book or some kind of personal story.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 6, 2023 4:05 PM |
I just watched it and like it for what it is. The Indiewire article posted above is ridiculous. It’s not a literal documentary.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 9, 2023 12:11 AM |
That book got a huge promotion and a ton of hype when it came out, and it was aggressively stupid.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 9, 2023 12:22 AM |
🙈 Honey, if you gotta cough or sneeze, you better hang on to those titties.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 9, 2023 12:41 AM |
I love that there sling shot she's wearin'.
I could seriously see that in white for my weddin' !
by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 9, 2023 12:43 AM |
Is Riley considered attractive? Her skin here looks so ravaged, I wasn’t sure if they were going for some 1970s realness or if that’s her natural state? I was getting the sense she was hired because she looked like those unattractive witchy girl types like Stevie Knicks or the just off Alberta farm look of Joni Mitchell.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 9, 2023 12:46 AM |
All things considered, I think she looks fab-yoo-luss !
DataLounge, you are just Mean, Mean, Mean !
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 9, 2023 12:51 AM |
What do you mean r26 that her skin looks ravaged?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 9, 2023 12:51 AM |
No doubt this lil skank is claiming MJ as her real father.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 9, 2023 1:05 AM |
R28 Like a Janis Ian song, sand paper.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 9, 2023 1:17 AM |
Riley’s not the only one stepping out at that premiere…her girls are practically playing peekaboo in that hideous dress.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | March 9, 2023 4:34 AM |
Bitch has no tits. Most drag queens have bigger tits than that because theys usually fat.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | March 9, 2023 5:38 AM |
All the structure in that corset (see the waist) and whoever made it couldn't make her bust look better?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | March 9, 2023 9:58 PM |
Do people like R2 see that they are redlined as a troll? I’m asking seriously because I don’t know.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | March 9, 2023 10:00 PM |
[quote] she's obviously beautiful
I don't think she's obviously beautiful. She looks a lot like her mother, who was attractive, but not beautiful.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | March 9, 2023 10:14 PM |
Her grandmother was gorgeous before surgery.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | March 9, 2023 10:21 PM |
Very pretty
by Anonymous | reply 37 | March 9, 2023 10:26 PM |
Camila Morrone acts her off the screen and looks a thousand times hotter. Not surprising as she's seven years younger.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | March 9, 2023 10:33 PM |
I just don't see "very pretty" or "beautiful." But, we're all different and all have different tastes.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | March 9, 2023 10:38 PM |
^^^ Look how terrible her skin looks here and the troweled on makeup
by Anonymous | reply 40 | March 9, 2023 10:43 PM |
Her skin is fine. Her looks are similar to Elizabeth Shue.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | March 9, 2023 10:49 PM |
She's unique looking and quite pretty
by Anonymous | reply 42 | March 9, 2023 10:49 PM |
I like the skirt, cinched waist, and shoes, but the top and earrings are a no.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | March 9, 2023 10:50 PM |
I love the earrings, just not with that outfit. The fried egg titties look is so gross. Cover those sagging dugs for the love of God !
by Anonymous | reply 44 | March 9, 2023 10:55 PM |
R38 yes this old hag is what, 30? She should know her place.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | March 9, 2023 11:19 PM |
She's a rough looking 33 year old...
by Anonymous | reply 46 | March 9, 2023 11:27 PM |
Priscilla was stunnignly beautiful. Lisa Marie was very pretty before the drugs ravaged her. Riley is slightly above average looking.; A rare case where beauty decreases with each generation.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | March 9, 2023 11:29 PM |
[quote] What happened to Sam Claflin, he used to ooze charisma
I think he should be the next Bond. Given the opportunity I’ll bet he could ramp up the charm just fine.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | March 10, 2023 12:31 AM |
The movies title is so annoying I won’t even hate watch it. I do feel so badly for this girl, losing her brother to suicide and now her mom to a heart attack. She has a new baby who won’t know her grandmother and has teen sisters who she needs to be there for. Her grandmother is a raging joker faced money hungry cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | March 10, 2023 1:38 AM |
R39 She is the definition of basic bitch. She look like an ugly Drew Burymore.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | March 10, 2023 1:41 AM |
If you had ugly tits, you don’t wear dresses like that.

by Anonymous | reply 55 | March 10, 2023 2:51 AM |
Pretty!
by Anonymous | reply 56 | March 10, 2023 2:51 AM |
I’ve watched another episode and I think I’m done. The cardboard characters and paint by number plot is insulting to the viewers. It looks incredibly cheaply done from the very obvious use of California canyons to be Hawaii and the cheap looking wig of the Afro American friend, whose story seems to be tacked on to add diversity. The flat manger as well. They needed to decide to use all real period music throughout or all original music, placing great old stuff side by side with their made up pastiche look worse by comparison. That duet looked like is was lifted directly from the recent Star is Born, but it was no Shallows moment. Neither lead is at all interesting as the blah characters they portray and I have zero investment. I will say Sam seems destined to play Peter Strauss in a biopic.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | March 10, 2023 9:47 AM |
She's very pretty and has her grandpappy's eyes. Sam Claflin looks awful in this. He looks like he's about 50.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | March 10, 2023 1:40 PM |
She's hard looking.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | March 10, 2023 9:27 PM |
3 new eps out today
by Anonymous | reply 60 | March 10, 2023 9:30 PM |
Sam needs to lose the ugly grizzled beard.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | March 11, 2023 4:17 AM |
Daisy is supposed to be younger and more beautiful than Billy's wife so I don't know why they cast 25 year old Camila Morrone as the wife. She steals every scene she's in.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | March 11, 2023 4:22 AM |
Did they not do a chemistry read with the leads?
by Anonymous | reply 63 | March 12, 2023 8:32 PM |
The book was ok, the show was meh, the music was lame.
Camila Morrone was good. Sam Claflin looked like a cross between Sam Rockwell and Timothy Chardonnay.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | March 12, 2023 8:52 PM |
@R39, she looks like legendary horse-cocked John Ireland.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | March 12, 2023 9:08 PM |
This show looks like a rip off of Cooper and Gaga’s A Star Is Born down to the same costumes, hairstyles, camera shots, etc
Can this woman sing like Gaga?
I feel kinda bad that she has to be in Happy PR Mode so soon after her mom died and while her grandma is battling her in court. Terrible timing but if she has actual talent and isn’t just a Nepo case being shoved down our throats, she could make out ok.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | March 12, 2023 9:14 PM |
If you want to watch a really good rock and roll drama, watch early live Fleetwood Mac concerts circa 1970--80s with Lindsay and Stevie screaming/singing at each other.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | March 16, 2023 1:37 AM |
I always fucking hated Fleetwood Mac. Nothing but pure ego and zero fucking talent. LIndsey Fuckingham is the ultimate turd.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | March 16, 2023 2:13 AM |
Don't care what you think. Their Rumors album is on BB200 and It's been 45 years. It was one of the top 10 best selling albums last year. Stevie Nicks is a goddess, LB is a talented jerk.
Today's music is so generic, it's written and produced by 20-50 people, like a corporate product. The best most creative music was from the 60-70s where it was considered an art.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | March 16, 2023 2:36 AM |
The 70s had a lot of fucking garbage, not just disco. Most disco was done by corporate hacks. Fleetwood Mac was garbage.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | March 16, 2023 2:46 AM |
I love 1970s music but Fleetwood Mac leaves me completely cold. Incredibly bland and generic songs. If it wasn't for the interpersonal drama they'd be completely forgotten.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | March 16, 2023 2:52 AM |
No. Fleetwood Mac is legendary and deservedly so. My husband is not a fan. Not saying you should be a fan.
But their music is not bland and generic.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | March 16, 2023 3:05 AM |
HAS anyone watched the miniseries?
I ask because I'm reading the book, and it's becoming a struggle. The two leading characters are dreadful people, every moment of recording every fucking song on the big album is gone over at great length, and the only person I want in my headspace is the Christine McVie character and she's just allowed a few sentences here and there. So, does it get any better?
by Anonymous | reply 73 | April 14, 2023 3:04 AM |
The man characters is not doing enough beating up of women to be a Lindsay-alike.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | April 14, 2023 4:20 AM |
[QUOTE] Don't care what you think. Their Rumors album is on BB200 and It's been 45 years. It was one of the top 10 best selling albums last year.
This is because Irving Azoff is using his client Harry Styles to revive interest in the band. Harry and Stevie gushing over each other and Harry's cover of The Chain had Gen Z buying Rumors in droves. Typical cunning Azoff ploy.

R75 is on my ignore list...

[quote] The man characters is not doing enough beating up of women to be a Lindsay-alike.
Lindsay B is a very talented, handsome man but those stories of his abuse of women are horrific and he would have been cancelled earlier in his career so he's lucky that he peaked in the 80s. Dragging his gf by her hair while he's in a car, getting in a fight with Stevie then chasing her for a whole block until he slams her against a car choking her. Dang. I'm surprised Stevie wanted him back in FM in 1997.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | April 14, 2023 10:42 AM |
I said this on DL before but I read a book written by one of Lindsay’s long term (7 years or so) ex-girlfriends. She said he was completely unpredictable with his violence. The attacks would come completely out the blue. They’d be chatting like a normal couple and then he’d grab her by the neck and start choking her. She could never figure out what set him off.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | April 14, 2023 1:47 PM |
I couldn’t finish the book, R73. There are far better books out there than this over-praised crap. I haven’t watched the series, either, but I’m not subscribed to Amazon ATM.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | April 14, 2023 3:09 PM |
I think I'm giving up on the book, R79, I put it down and started on "The Royal Art of Poison" instead (thank you, local library).
Are there any good books about Fleetwood Mac? Reading about the real thing will probably be more interesting than a badly written roman a clef.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | April 14, 2023 3:42 PM |
R80, there is an unauthorized book about Stevie called Gold Dust Woman.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | April 14, 2023 10:06 PM |
Stevie wrote this song about her undying, eternal love for that a-hole.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | April 15, 2023 3:11 AM |
I'm on episode 3 of DJ & The Six and I am not sure if I will finish this.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | April 15, 2023 3:12 AM |
Agreed wholeheartedly, R62. Camila is not at all like I pictured her when reading the book.
Also, while I thought Riley was good, I also didn’t feel like she fully captured the Daisy from the book, at least not consistently. She had more of an innocence in her portrayal, which I didn’t get from the Daisy of the book. I feel like she needed to be more of a larger than life enigma.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | April 15, 2023 4:07 AM |
I have not read the book so my comments refer to the mini-series.
R73 - Did not see the Stevie Nicks persona in the Daisy Jones character either. To me, Daisy Jones was more Grace Slick with a little Courtney Love thrown in.
The Christine McVie character is played by Suki Waterhouse in the mini-series. The Christine McVie is very underwritten but I could not take my eyes of Suki Waterhouse when she was on screen and kept anticipating her next scene. The Suki Waterhouse scenes were few and far between as the Christine McVie character was definitely a supporting role in the mini-series.
The Billy Dunne character, played by Sam Claflin , really did not remind me of Lindsey Buckingham in anyway except they were both burnette and good looking.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | April 17, 2023 3:09 PM |
Some of the drama might have been inspired by Fleetwood Mac antics but I didn’t see any of these characters as members of Fleetwood Mac.
Agree that they were all too old, 30s pushing 40, looked way too old for a breakout band.
And yes Suki and Camila owned the screen in every shot they were in. The male band members all looked to similar for me to keep them straight except the Billy character who looked like he was 50.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | April 18, 2023 2:04 AM |
Of course, it’s not directly based on Stevie and Lindsay. If it was, both parties would sue. The female superstar would be a diva and major coke head who slept around and her ex-lover with a violent and difficult temperament who was a domestic anbuser and almost killed his gfs.
Stevie had multiple romantic dalliances with famous rockstars but interestingly, once she and Lindsay parted ways in 1987, she sort of withdrew from the spotlight.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | April 18, 2023 7:27 AM |
Did not Stevie Nicks say in some interview years ago that the love of her life was Joe Walsh?
by Anonymous | reply 88 | April 18, 2023 12:57 PM |
Daisy in the novel is a sleazy heroin addict in her early 20s with huge cobalt blue eyes and long red hair. Sadie Sink would have done a better job at portraying her than Riley did.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | April 22, 2023 3:51 PM |
21 year old Sadie Sink looks exactly like Daisy does in the book.
