I'd like to see a study on the negative effects on society after black culture became more mainstream.

by Anonymousreply 4February 26, 2023 5:19 AM

Well, that's unfortunate. Especially considering how carefully her sister has threaded the line by consistently speaking about inclusion without getting overly political. Dolly is one smart businesswoman. Her sister, not so much. What's also frustrating is, if you read through her feed, you'll see that Stella isn't an out and out hillbilly bigot. She speaks up for women's rights -- including women's reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights and against corruption in industry.

But, she's also an elderly white woman and even people who have otherwise fairly progressive views can have blinders on when it comes to some things as she apparently does on these topics.

by Anonymousreply 5February 26, 2023 5:41 AM

Hey, I got stupid racist siblings too. I wouldn’t diss Dolly over this. We can’t choose our family. Just sayin…

by Anonymousreply 6February 26, 2023 5:52 AM

I don't think anyone's dissing Dolly, R6. Unless I missed that?

by Anonymousreply 7February 26, 2023 5:55 AM

You’re right, they’re not dissing Dolly, but guilt by association unfortunately can happen

by Anonymousreply 8February 26, 2023 6:01 AM

R8 -- true. The Tricky thing will be if Stella doesn't learn to zip it, it will put Dolly in an awkward (and unfair) position of either having to condemn her sister's comments or look like she's complicit in her silence.

by Anonymousreply 9February 26, 2023 6:48 AM

Ummm, is she wrong?

by Anonymousreply 10February 26, 2023 6:59 AM

Agreed, R4. I'm guessing it's some kind of call for consistency, but it's a really bad take in the wake of Scott Adams going full-retard racist.

by Anonymousreply 11February 26, 2023 7:08 AM

by Anonymousreply 12February 26, 2023 7:18 AM

R12 It’s like those non political people. Part of the fucking problem!

by Anonymousreply 13February 26, 2023 7:25 AM

I don't think that her posts are racist. Many people just have enough of this hysterical fashion of fake black cultism. I think that even Mandela would think it is cringe.

by Anonymousreply 14February 26, 2023 7:26 AM

[quote]I'd like to see a study on the negative effects on society after black culture became more mainstream.

I think there are websites for that. Like Stormfront, the Proud Boys, Fox News. It should be easy enough to find.

by Anonymousreply 15February 26, 2023 7:27 AM

She's neither racist nor wrong.

by Anonymousreply 16February 26, 2023 7:31 AM

This may not even be her account. Doesn't sound like Stella. Since musk took over, authentication became a major issue amongst other things.

by Anonymousreply 17February 26, 2023 7:33 AM

After Juneteenth was made a holiday, my Native American friend texted me saying “well, the blacks got another one”

by Anonymousreply 18February 26, 2023 11:49 AM

I am grateful for 'the blacks" insisting on another three day weekend added to my summer holiday. It won't make a difference to aged dataloungers who have been retired from the workforce since the Clinton administration. But for everyone else who works, a three day holiday during the summer is something to celebrate.

Memorial day weekend

Juneteenth

July 4th

Thank you, "the blacks".

by Anonymousreply 19February 26, 2023 12:12 PM

I had to close my Twitter account but while active, I followed Stella's account.

She's antimagat and kept her rants to two or three sentences.

This does not sound like her.

by Anonymousreply 20February 26, 2023 12:15 PM

Is she Dolly's gay sister? Or is that another sister? Wait, does Dolly even have an openly gay sister or did I mix her up with someone else?

by Anonymousreply 21February 26, 2023 3:12 PM

R21 Dolly is Stella’s gay sister.

by Anonymousreply 22February 26, 2023 3:18 PM

Nah

by Anonymousreply 23February 26, 2023 3:32 PM

dl is 80% racists easily.

by Anonymousreply 24February 26, 2023 3:43 PM

R24 yeah, of course. “Racist” is handed out like Halloween candy and thrown around like a beach ball now days, unless you’re black and calling for white people to be put in camps, then you’re just called “empowered”.

by Anonymousreply 25February 26, 2023 3:59 PM

Dilbert has entered the chat. Whiny, little, CANCELED, bitch.

by Anonymousreply 26February 26, 2023 4:07 PM

R18 doesn't have any Native American friends. He just wants to rant against black people

by Anonymousreply 27February 26, 2023 4:34 PM

R14, Stormfront is calling

by Anonymousreply 28February 26, 2023 4:35 PM

And yet she wouldn't trade places with a black person for all the money in the world

Neither would any of the MAGA assclowns on this thread

by Anonymousreply 29February 26, 2023 4:36 PM

This really surprised me. I used to follow her on Twitter before I cancelled my account

She hates Trump and I agreed with most of her posts…except for her intense love of Meghan Markle.

Why would she post something like this? It’s career suicide.

by Anonymousreply 30February 26, 2023 4:45 PM

They don't like it? How about they sign up for 500 years of enslavement for them and their ancestors, then they can talk. No?

by Anonymousreply 31February 26, 2023 4:45 PM

R30? Not convinced that this is her. She's never posted anything of this sort before.

by Anonymousreply 32February 26, 2023 4:46 PM

R30 what career?

by Anonymousreply 33February 26, 2023 4:52 PM

If she’s trying to support Native Americans that’s a REALLY stupid way to do it. Really really really stupid.

by Anonymousreply 34February 26, 2023 4:54 PM

There is no such thing as "reverse" discrimination. It's redundant.

by Anonymousreply 35February 26, 2023 6:06 PM

Being redundant feels GOOD.

by Anonymousreply 36February 26, 2023 6:10 PM

I like Dolly Parton as much as the next person, but some people need to stop putting her on a pedestal. She's become the Betty White of celebrities.

by Anonymousreply 37February 26, 2023 6:29 PM

I haven't put Dolly on a pedestal since I heard her say bulldyke. A woman who says she is straight (bullshit) does not get to say that. She has a lot of good qualities, but she is not perfect.

by Anonymousreply 38February 26, 2023 6:54 PM

Dolly and Carl Dean were my neighbors for several years and they were some of the nicest people that I've ever met. I don't believe for a second that Dolly has a racist bone in her body. I've never met Stella, so I have no idea what she's like.

by Anonymousreply 39February 26, 2023 7:00 PM

R38 If you think she isn't straight then why are you upset that she used that word. Also, gay men on this site use way worse names for lesbians. But you aren't upset over that?

by Anonymousreply 40February 26, 2023 7:04 PM

R39 Are they the real deal?

by Anonymousreply 41February 26, 2023 7:04 PM

STELLAAAA!

by Anonymousreply 42February 26, 2023 7:14 PM

A Streetcar Named Retire.

by Anonymousreply 43February 26, 2023 7:17 PM

I am not upset anymore about it anymore, R40, but it did change the way I look at Dolly. I thought she was better than that. Members of a group can talk shit jokingly about each other in a way that people outside should not. I put the assholes on ignore.

by Anonymousreply 44February 26, 2023 7:29 PM

R44 But gay men aren't membyer of the lesbian group.

by Anonymousreply 45February 26, 2023 8:41 PM

STELLA !!!!! STELLA !!!!

by Anonymousreply 46February 27, 2023 4:52 AM

OP, get a life.

by Anonymousreply 47February 27, 2023 4:57 AM

R38, take the stick out of your ass.

by Anonymousreply 48February 27, 2023 4:58 AM

"Reverse discrimination" is a misnomer. Any race/ethnicity can be the source or the target of discriminiation. Just as any race/ethnicity can be the source or the target of racism.

by Anonymousreply 49February 27, 2023 5:05 AM

R39 - Dolly was your neighbor? Is that your way of telling us that you're rich as Midas? Assume Dolly hasn't lived in a shack in 50+ years. She's worth hundreds of millions.

by Anonymousreply 50February 27, 2023 6:11 AM

R15 you can add Datalounge to that list.

by Anonymousreply 51February 27, 2023 6:27 AM

R49 “racism” implies a power differential.

by Anonymousreply 52February 27, 2023 6:29 AM

r29 Whoopi, maybe.

by Anonymousreply 53February 27, 2023 6:33 AM

[R52] Not according to any definition in any dictionary, you racist cunt.

by Anonymousreply 54February 27, 2023 6:33 AM

R52 Racism is the hatred of another race. Power plays no part, implied or otherwise.

by Anonymousreply 55February 27, 2023 6:33 AM

[quote] who were hero's

Oh fucking dear!

by Anonymousreply 56February 27, 2023 6:34 AM

r54 they're going by the feminist/social justice definition.. of privilege + power that allows virtually every rich politician, tycoon, celeb to say they're poor, disadvantaged and oppressed.. even six generations of money down the line.

by Anonymousreply 57February 27, 2023 6:38 AM

R54 first dictionary site I looked at -“ the systemic oppression of a racial group to the social, economic, and political advantage of another” Who’s the cunt now?

by Anonymousreply 58February 27, 2023 6:38 AM

She's not entirely wrong.

by Anonymousreply 59February 27, 2023 6:40 AM

r54 it's the same kind of setup that allows for women to get away with sexual harassment (or worse) of a male, well, these days, now a "man". (insert diversity round table of white women)

by Anonymousreply 60February 27, 2023 6:43 AM

^ so, neither equals or greater can make a discrimination unless they deemed lesser than, barely human, of the social hierarchy as based on sexuality, gender, sex, race, culture, religion, disability, so on..

by Anonymousreply 61February 27, 2023 6:45 AM

I don't see her tweets as racist but unfortunately due to the wording it makes her come off as a MAGA Republican even though she's a Liberal Democrat like her sister (I think?).

Basically she's frustrated and frazzled at the double standards the "woke" movement is foolishly unaware of or stubbornly refuses to acknowledge.

She's also pointing out that racism goes both ways and that African-Americans aren't the only racial minority with a long history of abuse, genocide and oppression.

But the fat rainbow haired non-binary Mafia or Black Twitter are going to spot her posts (like sharks attracted to blood in the water from up to 500 miles away), retweet them, make them go viral and get her crucified by the Cancel Culture Cabal as always.

by Anonymousreply 62February 27, 2023 6:49 AM

Mind you, that's all "incel" talk, though.

welcome to the 60s (radical feminism).. it plays out all the same way.

[quote] According to this ideology, the most basic division in society is not between class and class, but between male and female; distinctions according to gender are seen as far more important than distinctions based on wealth and power. According to this ideology, there is a hierarchy of oppression, with the oppression of women being the worst of all. It is an oppression so profound, so mysterious, and so ineffable, that it cannot even be described in concrete terms, as might other, lesser forms of oppression.

[quote] According to this ideology the oppression of homosexuals derives from “sexism”, the foundation of which is male supremacy. Homosexuals are oppressed because they, not being seen as “real men and women”, violate the “sex-roles” which sexism comprises. It follows that the oppression of male homosexuals is essentially a by-product of female oppression, and that the liberation of gay men must tail after the liberation of women. In effect, the gay liberation movement becomes the fag end of the women's movement.

[quote] According to this ideology, lesbians are doubly oppressed — both as homosexuals and as women — where homosexual males are merely singly oppressed. Gay men still enjoy a “male privilege” because, according to a central dictum of radical feminism: ALL MEN BENEFIT FROM THE OPPRESSION OF ALL WOMEN. So it would seem that gay men are not really so badly off, and perhaps it would be better if they did not devote their energies to repealing sodomy statutes and fighting discrimination, because these goals if realized would simply give them equality with straight men, thus objectively increasing the oppression of women. Instead, gay men should spend their time “dealing with their sexism”, which they acquired from having been born male, and in learning how to “give up their male privilege”.

[quote] According to this ideology, the best things gay men can do is to act as a “men's auxiliary” for women's liberation, taking their cues from feminists. And since men are the enemy, gay men should be willing to enlist as agents in the fight against males and against maleness.

and got updated in the 90s (intersectional)

and again in the 2010s (social justice; the anti-civil rights movements generation, really, they have an incredibly low opinion of all the major figures and movements, shifting us to where pc is now pro-segregation)

by Anonymousreply 63February 27, 2023 6:50 AM

R58 It all depends on whose agenda you choose to promote. From the Oxford Dictionary:

Racism: prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.

by Anonymousreply 64February 27, 2023 7:00 AM

No, that is definitely her, and she's taking the typical celebrity fuck-up path that they all do: say a bunch of sketchy shit off and on for a few years until you do it too often and get caught, then claim to have an "inbox full of death threats" which forced you to double down on your sketchy shit.

This is a woman who called out religion for being toxic, then 10 hours later quoted the Bible to justify her long rant about how talking about racism is just "unfairly blaming all white people." Probably not someone anyone should be listening to for any real advice or knowledge.
