R1 Sorry, no idea who he is. Guys that have blocked me are normally athletes that are not that mediatic, like former German footballer Arne Friedrich. Sometimes when he posted an IG story I replied to him saying that he is "gorgeous", "dreamy", "cute", etc.... The funny is that I've been following him on IG around 3-4 years and a just a couple of weeks he suddenly blocked me.

r4 He probably didn't even notice it the first time around, but leaving similar comments on several of his IG stories smells of stalking. I'd block you too.

I don't remember who it was that blocked me (I'll try to remember/search for who it was), but it was some minor actor discussed on DL (cult following or fetishistic following). I looked him up on Twitter or Instagram and saw that he had blocked me. Weird thing is that I had never interacted with him or had any interest in him beyond references to him on DL. I logged out, and could see his posts when I logged out or used another browser. I logged back in and confirmed that I was blocked. I never post on Twitter or Instagram. I just have the accounts to see others' posts.

She didn't block me, but I unintentionally baited Lauren Boebert into tweeting that she didn't shoot her neighbor's dog.

I saw it (probably here) in a tweet and it wasn't in the news, and I went on her Lauren Boebert for Congress Facebook page and posted "Did you shoot your neighbor's dog??" and linked to the accuser's post.

She SHOULD have just blocked me. But she's kinda an idiot and she RESPONDED to me, and the she made it worse by tweeting her response to me verbatim without anyone on Twitter having asked her about it. Then it made the news.

I was getting so many threats that I deleted my comment and had to block about 200 crazy gun toting rednecks on FB and someone screenshot my post and was constantly reposting it on the neighbor's post. Finally the neighbor had gotten so many threats, she took the post down (and thankfully, along with it all the screenshots of my name).

I wasn't even trying to troll her. I was just genuinely shocked that her next door neighbor seemed to be very credibly accusing her of doing it.

But then some other whackadoo neighbor of theirs claimed it was her boyfriend who shot the dog and he did it to protect Boebert's livestock. She seemed pretty proud of her boyfriend for killing a dog.

I still think Lauren shot the dog.

There was a great thread on Twitter years ago of people posting what they said to a celebrity to get blocked. It was hilarious.

The opposite. About 20 years ago, I figured out that a handsome local TV news reporter (he's moved all over the country since) was probably gay and reached out to him, but without being crude. He affirmed, then eventually came out. We became early FB friends. He's much more famous now. Nevertheless, although he has thousands of fans and followers now, he still "laughs" at some of my posts and "likes" some of my comments about his posts, and recently wished me a happy birthday. Not going to name him because half of local news reporters today are gay, good looking (man makeup), sensitive, and fun.

The untalented, obese z-list YouTuber Trisha Paytas blocked me.

Never blocked, but I rarely dare to leave comments on celeb accounts. I'm super shy, and struggle enough to talk to people I know or who are accessible to me.

Was absolutely stoked a few years back to get a personal 'lol' from Bobbie Brown (as in, ex-video vixen/80s model & rockstar wife to fallen DL icon Jani Lane) on one of her youtube account videos--guess she was bored at home during lockdowns and scrolling yt a lot. Can't even remember what I said, but it must have tickled her for a second. I just adore her and think she's so fucking cool as an icon of the Sunset rock scene I grew up with, so to have that little interaction moment no matter how meaningless just made my week (my year, honestly--it was a bad year).

That's one of the dozen celebrity interactions I've ever had, and definitely the best though it was remote and brief and in-passing. The rest I've had are all boring U.K. specific public figures, half of whom were not nice people and gave no joy to meet in person. I'd rather have met Bobbie irl.

When I noticed I was blocked I was really puzzled and went back through almost five years of tweets and not one mention of him in my timeline at all. I didn't know my nonsense tweets had that much reach.

Those of you who were blocked by people you've never interacted with: many tweeters mass ban anyone who hashtags a topic or follows an account they don't like. I've seen people brag about doing this.

This is why on Twitter I mute and don't block because people consider being blocked to be a badge of honor. I don't know why celebs don't do the same.

I was blocked by a musician from the uk. Not mentioning the band he’s from because they are cool guys, but this guy was their saxophone player. Him and his wife had a kid and some of the other guys in the group were joking around. So I wrote “With a melon?” and he blocked me haha.

I’ve gotten blocked also by Jordan Peterson, it was both shocking and hilarious! First let me state that I am against Jordan Peterson and his incel views. He did an interview with Temple Grandin and I had just seen her at a veterinary conference and was looking on YouTube to see if someone posted it. So I then discovered that JP somehow convinced her to be interviewed. She basically humiliated him, he kept trying to get her to answer political questions and every time she would state that she wasn’t there to talk about controversies. He was about to cry by the end it was funny. So I simply wrote “it must be cool to interview such an intelligent person.” HOLY COW…. He has some dedicated incel groupies! Immediately my comment was highlighted and the response was “Are you fixated on superiority?” and then a bunch of magas came out of the digital woodwork!
