I came across her second record, The Archer, on Spotify, and found the music very haunting. She was plucked from obscurity as a teenager in the mid-2010s after Courtney Love saw a video of her singing on YouTube and began singing her praises on the internet. At 18, she ended up landing with Columbia Records, who teamed her with Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys; she recorded her first album with him. She appears to be barely famous, even be indie standards, which sort of surprises me. I think this song in particular is stunning:
Alexandra Savior—a younger Lana Del Rey who never took off?

Lovely song and I think you're spot on with your comparison, guess things just never came together for her like they did for Lana. Though that's of course nothing out of the ordinary, it happens all the time in every area of life, not just in showbiz.

Live from a couple of years ago. She's cute as a button.

R1 I think Lana is a great artist and has proven she's worth her salt, but the truth is that her dad's checkbook opened most of the doors that got her in. She denies this emphatically, but she's full of shit. She was running the industry circuit in NYC before Interscope picked her up, and her dad was funding and promoting her—which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it annoys me that she lies about it and acts as though she came from the gutter. It's simply not true. Her family had money, and money talks.

Lana probably straight up ripped off this girls' vibe. Lana was different at the start and had a radical style change to hit it big.

Lana wholesale ripped off my goddess Hope Sandoval's vocals so she probably nicked some of this girl's too

Lana was way before her. Her first album was in 2010. She definitely knocked of Mazzy Star.

Is she one of those artists that only does Europe?

R8 she's an American (from Portland, OR) but is probably best known in England due to her association with Alex Turner. I listened to her new album this evening. It is gorgeous. This song in particular is heavenly.

I enjoy the musicianship more than her vocal stylings, which I find monotonous and with an unpleasant tone after 1 song.

R10 she's definitely not a flashy singer who does vocal runs or belting. The vocals are understated, but they're pleasant to my ears. Kind of reminds me of a lounge singer from the '50s. She's cute, too.
