The death of Sam Cooke

A truly great voice.

I'm listening to his version, "There, I've Said it Again", as I type.

He had such a beautiful nose. I've never known anyone else who had a nose shaped quite like his was.

Sam stupidly went out one night hoping to meet some skank and there was some sort of misunderstanding with a crazy lady who shot him.

r4, that's the official story. But Etta James said she saw him dead and he looked like he had been severely beaten--the shooter's story could not account for those marks.

Yes, he really was, and his voice too. What a vocalist. I'm confused about bow he died, there seems to be a few different stories. What a shame too. Tragic.

I don't remember the details, but I think he was murdered by his management and/or record label.

Like most shady events in history, these things don't get spelled out in the history books.

Why would they want to kill someone who was making a lot of money for them?

I’ve been listening to a lot of Sam Cooke lately. What a beautiful voice. His death was definitely shady and wouldn’t be surprised if he was killed by TPTB because of the moves he was making in the music industry as well as civil rights.

Didn't he die from injuries sustained upon impact and die frozen in one of the Great Lakes?
