Bad Cinderella

Yikes! Any other shows which got worse in their West End to Broadway transfers?

At least the title is accurate.

That is not a pleasant sound she is making.

There's so many.. but at the moment, I can only recall those that did well on The West End but absolutely flopped on Broadway, such as Rosie O'Donnell's and Boy George's Taboo. Thought the subsequent UK tour and revival did better.. it just never translated to success in the states..

Broadway has turned into a big old crock of Shipoopi.

Beyond repugnant; a truly awful musical, one grasps quickly.

I saw this over the weekend and WOW was it BAD!! The changes to the Cinderella story are pointless, nonsensical, or just plain dumb. It's clear they're going for some kind of woke/feminist/empowerment message, but what exactly that message is is never made even remotely clear through a muddled plot, half assed characterization, and subplots that go nowhere. There wasn't one memorable song, the whole thing drags, and the lead actress is very average. I honestly can't believe that this got positive reviews in London or that anyone actually invested money in this turd.

I thought it flopped in London.

The same tone, the same tempo, the same chorus structure, the same affected facial expressions, the same look.

It’s all so old, but the Yassss Kweens will still “Yassss!”

The last Bway revival of Evita was awful. Apparently it was a hit in London.

I really enjoyed Taboo and have no idea why it flopped here. Boy George really has such charisma on stage

R9 Americans weren’t all about nelly homos then, pre-Drag Race explosion.

I second the nomination for Taboo. A great night out in the West End and a hot fucking mess on Broadway.

It really takes a bad bad show and performance to make me hate it after seeing just 37 seconds of it.
