Fox News tea comes spilling out via Dominion Lawsuit

Tucker frets that Trump could destroy him, Fox News president sent Mike Lindell a note of apology after he trashed Fox on Newsmax, everyone knew Trump was lying about the election, they all think Rudy G is a clown ... and so much more!

I just ordered a 20 pound sack of popcorn because I'm going to need it.

This Dominion/Fox lawsuit is going to be delicious. Hope Murdoch the Velociraptor takes it right up his blown out, gaping arsehole.

by Anonymousreply 1February 17, 2023 1:05 AM

I hope this bankrupts Murdoch and Fox "News" is no more.

by Anonymousreply 2February 17, 2023 1:14 AM

[quote]Some interesting details about Jeanine Pirro in the Fox News messages: a Fox exec felt sure she was looking for a job at a competitor like Newsmax, and Fox cancelled her Nov. 7 show because they were afraid she'd push stolen election theories: "She is crazy."

This is such a water is wet moment. No one with three brain cells thought Fox et al wasn't gaslighting half the country. We all know Tucker is a complete actor. He's basically Colbert from the Colbert Report. He means maybe one tenth of what he vomits.

And of course most of the Fox viewers won't believe a word of any of these "new" facts. If they see them at all.

It's all so boring to me at this point.

by Anonymousreply 7February 17, 2023 1:17 AM

Who would have guessed that Tucker is a neurotic asshole IRL?

by Anonymousreply 8February 17, 2023 1:17 AM

Hahaha. Delicious! More!

by Anonymousreply 9February 17, 2023 1:18 AM

R3- Fingers crossed! 🤞

by Anonymousreply 10February 17, 2023 1:30 AM

Damn, all this shit you kind of knew was true, but somehow to see it all laid out like this is fascinating. What a bunch of whores.

And Tucker revealed as the submissive shop bottom we always knew he was deep down. Trump will destroy me! Trump will absolutely destroy me if he gets mad!!!

by Anonymousreply 11February 17, 2023 1:35 AM

They're called receipts, r7. This is *not* boring.

[quote]In one set of messages revealed in the court filing, Carlson texted Ingraham, saying that Sidney Powell, an attorney who was representing the Trump campaign, was “lying” and that he had “caught her” doing so. Ingraham responded, “Sidney is a complete nut. No one will work with her. Ditto with Rudy [Giuliani].”

[quote]In multiple instances, Fox News executives and hosts expressed worry over the matter and started to crack down on those at the network who fact-checked election lies. In one case, after White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich fact-checked a Trump tweet pushing election fraud, Carlson said he wanted her fired.

“Please get her fired,” Carlson told Hannity over text message. “Seriously … what the fuck? I’m actually shocked … It needs to stop immediately, like tonight. It’s measurably hurting the company.”

by Anonymousreply 16February 17, 2023 1:43 AM

They are all so afraid of manbaby Trump:

Tucker Carlson repeatedly frets in text messages to his producer that Trump is a "demonic force" who could "destroy" him if Carlson missteps: "He's the undisputed world champion of that. He could easily destroy us if we play it wrong."

by Anonymousreply 17February 17, 2023 1:43 AM

Jesus, what scumbags.

by Anonymousreply 18February 17, 2023 1:44 AM

I wonder what kompromat Trump has on everyone. He learned at Roy Cohen's disease riddled knee. And he's so visibly stupid, yet so obviously Id driven with a bunch of coke and pills at the ready with whores too, I bet all these halfwitted dirtballs fell for it. On film

by Anonymousreply 19February 17, 2023 1:44 AM

The only think Trump could destroy is the toilet bow after a heavy meal of Filet o Fish.

by Anonymousreply 20February 17, 2023 1:45 AM

They're Nazis.

by Anonymousreply 21February 17, 2023 1:45 AM

They are all clearly scared shirtless of Dump. What dies he know?

by Anonymousreply 22February 17, 2023 1:47 AM

I love that they know everybody around them is crazy. Sidney Powell. Crazy bitch. Jeneane Pirro. Crazy drunk. And the craziest twats of all of course are the viewers.

What a shitshow.

by Anonymousreply 23February 17, 2023 1:48 AM

I hope the woman being vetted for the FCC turns to Ted Cruz and sais "remember when I said Fox news was just GOP Propaganda and you said I was baised?"

by Anonymousreply 24February 17, 2023 1:49 AM

They have done incalculable damage to this country. They should deported at the very least.

by Anonymousreply 25February 17, 2023 1:50 AM

Fox News stands to lose up to $4B if they lose both lawsuits against them. Hopefully that will destroy the network.

by Anonymousreply 26February 17, 2023 1:51 AM

Not gonna defend them, but there are many republicans who know that Trump is toxic, insane, crazy and dangerous. But he has that party by the balls, so they fall in line. Trump is a cult leader. The only one who can seriously take him on is Rupert and we'll see how that goes.

by Anonymousreply 27February 17, 2023 1:53 AM

[quote]They are all clearly scared shirtless of Dump. What dies he know?

He doesn’t know anything, other than how to unleash his band of shrieking howler monkeys to turn against Fox if it pleas3s him.

by Anonymousreply 28February 17, 2023 1:53 AM

R26- Will the Murdoch's bail them out? They certainly have the money to.

by Anonymousreply 29February 17, 2023 1:54 AM

R28- But hasn't he already tried to that when Fox called the election?

by Anonymousreply 30February 17, 2023 1:55 AM

I force myself to daily watch Special Report, anchored by Bret Baier, the hour “newscast” which has long been the network’s signature piece of so-called straight reporting. It’s like watching pro wrestling announcers.

Let me be clear: The boring part I was referring to will be how Fox viewers spin it or ignore it.

by Anonymousreply 34February 17, 2023 2:07 AM

Well it would be a miracle if Fox went down. But Punditry and politics is already 100% polluted and they all play the same game. LIES and fake news. Division. Deflection. Binaries. People on the left and right have been sufficiently dumbed down and their brains are fried. Any media and professional pundits can step right in an make money if another media company goes bust.

by Anonymousreply 39February 17, 2023 2:11 AM

by Anonymousreply 45February 17, 2023 2:19 AM

He speaks to the idiots who actually watch this propaganda channel and keeps these scumbags employed and rich, R45.

by Anonymousreply 46February 17, 2023 2:22 AM

In other words, Dump is their meal ticket.

by Anonymousreply 47February 17, 2023 2:22 AM

Because, R45, as has been pointed out, he’s a cult leader controlling a substantial share of their audience.

by Anonymousreply 48February 17, 2023 2:23 AM

I would love to see Fox News go down, but frankly I don't see that. I also don't see Dump dying soon, but his death would release a lot of national tension. When the cult leader goes, the cult is over. That's what needs to happen in this country. But when.

by Anonymousreply 49February 17, 2023 2:29 AM

Imagine the depths of despair that Tucker, Ingraham, and Hannity must feel in a dark, stone-cold, crevice of their soul that they have to display public obeisance to the cowardly, ignorant, insecure, stupid, bigoted, lower than a snake's instep likes of Donald Trump?

It's one thing for those 3 to feel that way about their employer Rupert Murdoch, evil, powerful, wealthy, diabolical piece of shit that he is. At least he's worthy of that.

but Trump?

Ugh.

by Anonymousreply 50February 17, 2023 2:32 AM

by Anonymousreply 53February 17, 2023 2:34 AM

I don't want Trump to die. I want to see him live in poverty, at times ridiculed and ignored.

But, if there's one thing that gives me glee, it's that I'm convinced that Melania, his children and the Repug Powers That Be live every miserable moment with the following about Trump: Just Die Already!

That tickles me beyond belief. They can't wait for Trump to keel over dead.

Especially for a country club republican like Tucker. He's gotta hate what calls itself the modern republican party. These rubes and hicks were never supposed to be calling the shots. They were only useful for their votes, but they could be controlled. Look what happened. Look who's in control, people they consider the dregs of humanity.

by Anonymousreply 62February 17, 2023 3:04 AM

Right, R18?

They’re all such lying trash. They have zero respect for their viewers.

God. These people and this network are such a disgraceful sham. They have genuinely destroyed the fabric of America, and for what? Their salaries and some very thin illusion of power/celebrity.

It’s incredible that Americans have allowed themselves to be bamboozled by an Australian National, whose primary goal is to serve the interests of his bank accounts, foreign oligarchs and high ranking foreign nationals in countries that despise us.

by Anonymousreply 63February 17, 2023 3:10 AM

If Murdoch goes, another will take his place. He's showed that appealing to the vegetable crowd is a guaranteed moneymaker.

by Anonymousreply 64February 17, 2023 3:13 AM

Old Man Murdoch and Elon Musk were sitting together at the Super Bowl. The camera was trained on them for quite a bit. Murdoch was having trouble unwrapping a hot dog. It was like he had never seen anything like it before.

by Anonymousreply 65February 17, 2023 3:15 AM

Now that he's well past the age of living long enough to embark on a fifth wife, old cunt Murdoch must know his days are numbered. But, like Dump, when is he going to die? I know nothing will change one way or the other with the mess he's consciously created, but it sure will be nice to have him off the planet.

by Anonymousreply 66February 17, 2023 3:21 AM

by Anonymousreply 84February 18, 2023 1:23 AM

Why the fuck doesn't ANY reporter ask these people- "You claim to be a Christian, you want the 10 commandments posted in every public school, what does "Thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbor" mean to you, you lying piece of dog shit?

R19 Trump probably has loads of kompromat from David Pecker of the National Enquirer.

by Anonymousreply 95February 18, 2023 3:18 PM

Oh, please. Trump has less than nothing on these FOX people and whatever he has, is the kind of shit, viewers don't care about. They're scared of the viewers because while on-air, they tell them how all of those dark people are violent and coming to get them, they know it's their own white trash viewers who are the violent ones who don't want to be told the truth. I mean Tucker vilifies someone they've never heard of and immediately that person gets death threats and stalked by his viewers. Those black women in GA have had their lives ruined and they're not alone.

FOX is scared of what their own viewers are capable of because they saw what thousands of them did when they couldn't handle losing in a democracy. They saw what they're capable of when they tried to kidnap the governor of MI or with mask mandates. MAGAt whites are a terrorist group at this point. Scary fucking people.

Fox News is one of the biggest and most successful propaganda machines of all time, up there with Pravda in the Soviet Union back in the day with their audience. by Anonymousreply 100February 18, 2023 4:46 PM

Well sort of r100. The obvious panic going on in all those emails was that viewers weren't as attached to Fox News as they were to their own lies and their Cult of Trump. If Fox News wouldn't tell them the lies they wanted to hear, they were going to all rush to Newsmax, which had promised to do exactly that.

For some reason I've just always assumed Tucker was into spanking. Maybe it's his whole would-be British schoolboy vibe. Did he dabble in the mansex at any point? Maybe, maybe not.

But regardless, I think there's a dominatrix out there with a story to tell.

by Anonymousreply 104February 18, 2023 5:08 PM

It is pretty clear to me that FOX News is trying to weasel its way out of the lawsuits by claiming that the "news" station is innocent and that some "rogue" employees went all in for Trump without the "news" station's, and poor dear innocent Rupert's, approval.

You know, the disclaimers like ...

Their lives are ruined while the FOX News spokespersons, owners, and DJT continue to lie and grift. They all knew they were lying and used those people, knowing they were throwing their lives away. They didn't give a fuck!

Forget class action lawsuits for Mesothelioma and Camp LaJune. J6 MAGAts need to nut up and go class action all over these scumbags.

It's about mass manipulation that goes unchecked and unchallenged. Our society is built on that fucked up foundation where people are deliberately raised to be stupid mouth breathers, so they can be manipulated by mass manipulation tools like religion or news media.

If people lived by the ten commandments the world would be a much better place - but republicans don't, dems don't either but at least honor more of the ten. I thought the goal of a Christian was to be more christ like? You know, feed the poor, heal the sick, don't judge others, forgive transgressions, you know radical WOKE things.

You really only have to live by the Golden Rule, r124.

by Anonymousreply 126February 19, 2023 3:50 PM

Well, you really don't need the first three commandments. That's just Yahweh being all needy. And the others do get difficult pretty quickly. Is it really wrong to lie in every and all circumstances? How about lies of omission, or should you be out there blathering your "truth" all day long? Does stealing include charging interest or making money off money, as was often taught in earlier centuries? How much do you have to honor mother and father when they're being stupid and annoying old koots? Is all "coveting" really that bad, even a passing thought of wishing you had something just cause you saw it? Adultery? Yeah, bad. Does it include all fornication? Then no, it's just more puritan bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 127February 19, 2023 3:59 PM

I dunno, but keeping track of all those commandments can get confusing. To me “don’t be an asshole” covers them all. The Republicans don’t live by this simple rule.

by Anonymousreply 128February 19, 2023 4:05 PM

Christianity is religion for dummies. The core values and instructions are very straightforward and easy to comprehend.

Christian Bible thumpers are the main culprits who disobey the basic teachings of Christ.

by Anonymousreply 129February 19, 2023 4:17 PM

r129 the concept that god wrote ten rules to live by then needed to write another 900 pages to really nail down what he meant is kind of stupid for people to believe. If God is all powerful he would turn to to dust if you broke a rule instantly, not let you in his really cool theme park in the sky.

by Anonymousreply 130February 19, 2023 5:04 PM

Is that why God fearing Christians flaunt the teaching of the Christ? They were not turned to dust immediately after violating their faith.

MAGAts/Fox viewers are like battered wives. They keep coming back to the abusers (ie. Fox news and the Republican party, who know EXACTLY what they're saying and doing) time and again. They probably secretly like it and crave the abuse.

Of course there aren’t special rules, that’s not the point he was making. Certain cases bring a lot more publicity, notoriety, and set precedent due to their very nature. This isn’t your average civil case that no one has even heard of, much less is following.

In a case of this magnitude in terms of visibility, I’m not too certain anyone would be allowed to get away with flagrant perjury without consequences.

Cops frequently lie on the stand, yet are rarely prosecuted. Mark Fuhrman, however, was charged with perjury for claiming he never used that slur. Hardly even instrumental to the case, yet because of the nature of the case, he was prosecuted.

The thing is, that dude FUX had crunching the numbers for their election night coverage was one of THE BEST in the business. I remember reading about him and his team about a month before the election.

I believe it was on CNN and the reporter asked something like “why would you want someone who may be able to predict Biden will win before any other outlet? Won’t that upset your viewers?”

The reply was “Biden won’t win and if he does then we will have called it first and still have the best election coverage”

That dude and his team were ALL fired after they predicted Arizona correctly. Since he is the best, I’m sure he got picked up by some other outlet but it just goes to show that FUX traffics in LIES. If you refuse to LIE , you don’t work there long.

The viewers love being lied to, because it gets them off and they want to believe in that reality the right wing has established for them for decades now (just like media entertainment claims that Hollywood is so liberal and all the closet case actors and sport stars are so straight and like to take romantic walks at even more romantic beaches and love women with inner beauty who make them laugh).

by Anonymousreply 230February 20, 2023 10:15 PM

And that fuckface Kevin McCarthy has now handed over all of the 1/6 videos to Putin-whore Tucker Carlson. Unreal.

Rep. Jamie Raskin @RepRaskinMcCarthy giving 40,000 hrs of Jan. 6 tape to a pro-Putin journalist is an astounding ethical collapse. What security precautions were taken to keep this from becoming a roadmap for 2024 insurrection? Why isn’t it available to all media & public? Smell the MAGA propaganda coming.

by Anonymousreply 234February 20, 2023 10:42 PM

This is the problem with every network. The news should not be concerned about profit.

by Anonymousreply 235February 21, 2023 3:56 PM

R235 is guilty of bothsidesism.

by Anonymousreply 236February 21, 2023 4:13 PM

^ Yep. No news network is perfect but Fox is really in a class of its own (and not in a good way)

by Anonymousreply 237February 21, 2023 5:13 PM

No, R235 is correct. Back in my day the news was expected NOT to make any profit. Reporting the news was the extremely low price networks and local stations paid for getting permission to air their shows and basically print money for almost nothing.

The US government - ostensibly we the people - own the airwaves. We charge them next to nothing.

In the 70's the news started changing. They brought it pretty co-anchors and saving kittens caught in trees and "human interest" stories taking the place of almost half the news time. It's a 30 minute show. Subtract commercials, weather and sports and that leaves about 15 for news. Split that with lost puppy stories and is it any wonder that people got so fucking stupid? No it is not.

by Anonymousreply 238February 21, 2023 9:50 PM

R238, and yet Fox News is much worse than any other channel. Don't call people stupid when you're a "both sides" Fox News defender

by Anonymousreply 239February 21, 2023 10:05 PM

Fuck that vile propaganda network.

Faux News was NEVER a legit news network. This channel reports lies, not news.

Lies are broadcast, 24/7. Faux New is a channel which brainwashes ignorant people. PERIOD.

by Anonymousreply 240February 21, 2023 10:09 PM

R239, you're delusional and you see monsters where there aren't any.

If Faux Noise monstrous? Yes, yes it is. Am I monstrous for explaining the change in news programming I experienced in the 70's? No, no I am not.

Read and learn, child, you'll eventually get the hang of this "internet posting" thing.

[quote]Just checked in the MAGAts on my socials. They don't care that they were lied to by FAUX. They don't care, they don't care, THEY DON'T CARE!!!!

Nobody has any illusions the MAGA will care.

But if the lawsuit succeeds in imposing huge $$ penalties on Fox, that's still a reputational blow and financially crippling. This should also tell the likes of Newsmaxx they could be next so better think twice next time.

by Anonymousreply 242February 21, 2023 11:32 PM

r239 I am not defending Fox News because I don't consider them the news. They are a GOP propaganda channel but because. What I am saying for you young kids, there was a time when the news did not have to perform in the ratings. They were not forced to compete, they just read the news, with maybe an editorial piece near the end that offered airtime for a competing opinion. Once that changed, the news changed. CNN used to just be a 24-hour news channel. You would never hear a story about a Khardasian or Kanye on the news. That was fluff for Entertainment tonight or gossip rags. Once the networks started counting ratings, the competition to be number one drove the news. Fox was born out of that. Rupert Murdoch created Fox News with the premise that the regular news was liberally biased.

by Anonymousreply 243February 21, 2023 11:39 PM

FUXX is also shown on every tv at truck stops, restaurants, gyms, etc. across the country. I can't tell you how many times I've turned on the tv in a hotel room and it is pre-set to FUXX.

If they were to go away, would those places put on Newsmax or OAN? I doubt it since they're totally batshit nuts, it would be a bridge too far. However, with CNN continuing to pander to the right, I guess they can just pick up the propaganda slack.

by Anonymousreply 244February 21, 2023 11:59 PM

If anything happens to FUX, some other billionaire will step into the breach with a new "moderate" right network. It's too profitable to lose.

by Anonymousreply 245February 22, 2023 1:36 AM

[quote] But if the lawsuit succeeds in imposing huge $$ penalties on Fox, that's still a reputational blow and financially crippling.

It wasn't and never will be about reputation. Conservatives decide for themselves what is legitimate. With Trump as president, Liberals discovered that Q-Anon conspiracies are legitimate enough for Deplorables to take action. It doesn't matter what right wing bigots can hide behind (Bible, FOX News, The Drudge Report, Breitbart, Q-Anon), as long as they declare it as a valid excuse to express their bigotry.

You can tell right wing followers a million times that they are being used by shameless snake oil salesmen profiteers, their ego and pride will prevent them to change their mind and stick with what they feel most comfortable with, and that is casting blame on minorities for the right wing followers' misfortune in their lives.

This is 100% true. That Klepper comedian from The Daily Show was interviewing sone female MAGA moron, she actually told Klepper that the Ukraine is not being attacked by Russia. To a certain segment of Americans, facts no longer exist.

This dolt said "All the Ukainians being interviewed are actors! I don't believe what is being shown or the photos!" When Klepper told her he interviewed Ukrainian citizens who fled to Poland. she said, "They are actors too!" Keeper pressed on, "What about the devastation done to the cities in the Ukraine all the dead bodies." The MAGAt dolt said, "That's all Photoshop, all fake!"

When the fuck did Americans become this easily brainwashed by Faux News and other conspiracy outlets? It's assumed these easily swayed morons were always out there, but that orange reality show freak and failed businessman, Drumpf, and all these other vile outlets, simply emboldened these ignorant racist hateful Americans.

by Anonymousreply 249February 22, 2023 10:17 PM

r249, stupid freaks have always existed. What has changed is the media treating stupidity, ignorance, right wing conspiracy theories as a valid opinion that needs to get more media exposure than facts and the truth. And that is all thanks to those who own certain media outlets.

by Anonymousreply 250February 22, 2023 10:25 PM

I believe all of this type of "thinking" grew out of what happened in the '60s and '70s. Between Vietnam, Watergate, and related subsequent scandals (Iran-Contra, etc.) people started to distrust everything -- government, news, etc. And while some healthy skepticism and critical thinking are good things, it's gone WAY too far, where now everything is a conspiracy or fake news.

by Anonymousreply 251February 22, 2023 10:36 PM

Conspiracy Theorists are the worst. Just the dregs of humanity. R249's example of what that degenerate said about the people of Ukraine and their suffering is beyond offensive. There is no fix for that type of stupidity or lunacy.

Can't happen soon enough R253! That vampire Murdoch deserves whatever he gets. The damage he's done. Not just to the US but also to Australia and the UK.

Fox News played a powerful part in Dump gaining momentum then notoriety/adoration with the Dump cult members. Then Fox News steadfastly supported and encouraged him and his cult members to a frenzy even after the election results lies until Rupert decided it was all too crazy and he couldn't control him. But by then the damage was done. Murdoch and Fox News played a big part in the Dump presidency happening and all through it, setting up and spreading the lies that the voting was rigged and the election results were invalid. And we all know what happened next. Fox News had already set the scene for the insurrection to take place even after Murdoch reigned everything in and dumped support for Dump and admitted the election results were valid and legal. Then Dump lit the fuse. And we later find out Dump had been planning and intending 12 months beforehand to say he won the election even if he didn't.

Wouldn't it be great as part of the settlement, Fox had to give Dominion three hours of Prime time. One hour each for Carlson, Hannity, and Ingraham. And in each hour, a Dominion lawyer interviews the host and the host had to admit every lie he/she told on air, admit they knew the election was never stolen, and apologize to their viewers for YEARS of dishonesty.

From then on, each show would have to open with a disclaimer that the program was NOT news, just opinion, and the views expressed are the views solely of the hosts and guests. And the disclaimer has to run at the beginning of every segment.

Of course it will never happen. But we can fantasize.

by Anonymousreply 270February 25, 2023 6:41 AM

For Dominion it's about the company's, the product's, the service's reputation. Dominion can't settle with Rupert and Fox News or else the company keeps getting attacked by right wing media outlets, and their viewers, for not delivering the right voting results.

The integrity of the voting results is probably the very last thing between compliance and civil unrest. I mean, 01/06/2021 happened, because the Deplorables decided that Trump's blatant lies give them an excuse to ignore the facts and get violent. Agree with R323. Many do not know. How could they, FOX doesn't admit they're craven liars or that Trump is a craven liar. They baselessly accuse everyone else of lying, though, and gin up outrage over dumbass shit like gas stoves and M&Ms to distract from reality.

MAGAts get their news from these cretins and from the curated, manipulated algorithms of TikTok and YouTube. They take the slimey, grifting mutterings of Dan Biongo, Steve Bannon, and Joe Rogan for fact.

by Anonymousreply 326February 28, 2023 10:24 PM

And they’ll just believe that all this coming out about FauxNews is, you guessed it, lies from the left-wing lamestream media.

by Anonymousreply 327February 28, 2023 10:27 PM

I think of the Golda Meir line about there being peace in the Middle East when Arab leaders loved their people more than they hated Jews when I think of the Fox News audience.

by Anonymousreply 328February 28, 2023 10:55 PM

Rupert Murdoch, the chairman of Fox Corporation, replied in an email to former House Speaker and Fox Corp. board member Paul Ryan that veteran host Sean Hannity “has been privately disgusted by Trump for weeks, but was scared to lose viewers.” The exchange regarded Trump’s spreading of election lies following his November 2020 defeat to Joe Biden.

The proper moniker is “Pussy Ass BITCH”, r330. For the Congressional Record.

R322, I believe the $1.2 billion is the floor. Dominion is asking for punitive damages so the total amount could be astronomical. And I hope it is.

by Anonymousreply 332March 1, 2023 1:20 AM

But Hannity, Ingraham, and Cucker Tarlson were just following orders!

by Anonymousreply 333March 1, 2023 1:56 AM

by Anonymousreply 335March 1, 2023 2:24 AM

So I decided to see how my conservatives friends and family (mostly family) were handling the Dominion reveals. In a very non aggressive way, I texted each (8 in total) asking them how they felt about Fox lying to them about the election.

Six ignored my text. Two responded with something like "haven't done a deep dive on the story yet".

So. Yeah. Exactly as I suspected.

by Anonymousreply 336March 1, 2023 3:36 AM

Well, I'm sure one they "do their own research", on TikTok or YouTube that Dan Biongo, Joe Rogan, or some yelling rando will tell them it's all a commie swamp hoax, R336.

by Anonymousreply 337March 1, 2023 3:40 AM

That's why Fox did it as well - because viewers were leaving them for OAN, Newsmax and other places that would tell them what they wanted to hear.

Fox News is a right-wing propaganda, mass manipulation tool. Its main purpose is to fuck with people's mind. The 1% gets billions of US Dollars in handouts by the GOP, and Fox News tells the public to go after minorities, lazy workers and unions. The drama about advertisers, settlements, and court ordered payments is all bullshit. Even if it would lose money, as long as the GOP and the 1% keep the public from going after the 1% and the media outlet provides the public with plenty of distractions and scapegoats, it will remain on air.

It's the public who has to hold guys like Rupert Murdoch accountable, because neither the media nor the courts will do so.

I think these Dominion filings show that its main purpose is to make money, like any other corporation. It's just determined that it can make the most money by encouraging the paranoid delusions of its audience.

Tucker wanted a reporter fired not because she told the truth about the election, but because he was afraid the truth would hurt the FOX stock price and his pay package.

by Anonymousreply 345March 1, 2023 2:10 PM

Here’s a thought experiment. Imagine a current-day MSNBC covering the OJ Simpson trial. With its (much-warranted) sensitivity to the concerns of Black people, would their coverage have been as one-sided (weighted heavily in favor of the prosecution) as the rest of the media, or, in recognition of their audience, been more even-handed, if not more sympathetic to the defendant?

by Anonymousreply 346March 1, 2023 4:16 PM

R346 I can accept Fox or MSNBC will slant news. It's not want I like, but I can accept that because I can see right through it. So can most of us. So I could see MSNBC slanting OJ coverage slightly in his favor. Though his fame and wealth might askew his blackness.

But what I could not accept from MSNBC or any news outlet is outright lies.

So if MSNBC refused to cover the OJ trial? Or flat out said OJ didn't do it even after they knew he did?

Then I'd never watch MSNBC again.

by Anonymousreply 347March 1, 2023 5:30 PM

[quote]might askew his blackness.

Oh, dear!

by Anonymousreply 348March 1, 2023 5:44 PM

Yes, R346, there are significant differences in the two scenarios, not the least being that Fox was effectively promoting an insurrection. But as to the point that both channels know who their audience is & tailor their content accordingly, there can be no doubt. And even as a devout MSNBC consumer, I’m acutely aware of the need to search out other views.

by Anonymousreply 349March 1, 2023 5:47 PM

Yeah, there's a big difference between reporting what you know to be lies and reporting with a bias / interpretation.

by Anonymousreply 350March 1, 2023 5:48 PM

R346, that scenario bears absolutely no resemblance to the FOX/Dominion case. FOX knowingly lied. It deliberately and repeatedly misled its viewers about extremely important matters.

by Anonymousreply 351March 1, 2023 6:17 PM

FOX's years of lies about the integrity of our elections have eroded the very principles upon which the union of our nation is based. It has stolen domestic terrorism. There is no comparison, re: OJ.

It really is getting tiresome with some trying to pull the bullshit of comparisons with other networks (even in cases of hypotheticals).

No network that calls itself "news" has ever in the history of American journalism/media, caused the level of damage that FOX has. That doesn't mean the rest of the media hasn't caused damage, because it certainly has with the Iraq war being the most egregious example by carrying the water of neocons and giving a platform to their lies, along with most coverage of anything related to foreign policy. American media as a whole is just garbage when it comes to covering certain conflicts, but FOX stands alone in its overall toxicity.

The stupidity, narcissism, hypocrisy and arrogance of the average FOX viewer thinking other media outlets are "liberal." Why? Because they aren't outright telling you how great and perfect you are simply for being white and that all of your problems are due to "invading brown immigrants" or "ANTIFA" or "BLM"? Is that what constitutes "liberal media"? Not playing into your hate/fear? The idea that they aren't screaming about Hunter Biden 24/7 as you ignore the blatant corruption of the entire fucking Trump family from the moment they got here from Germany? Or the fact that you scream about how evil the FBI is, meanwhile, the very reason they went after "Hillary's emails" is because deplorable FBI shits in the NY office put pressure on Comey to make it bigger than it was. Meanwhile, they ignore that feckless cunt Ivanka and Jared and countless other Trump admin. officials doing far worse with their private servers, but the FOX losers ignore that, don't they?

FOX viewers want to ignore the mass murdering rapist on their side to make the story of the jaywalker, the worst crime in history -- that's the entire point of being a FOX viewer. Magnify perceived "liberal" nonsense to hysterical proportions so that it poses the greatest threat to the freedumbz of "God fearin' white Christians." And if you don't play into that nonsense, you're "liberal media."

And in terms of 'done,' neither Trump nor any of his partners in crime (including Congresspersons) have been charged or convicted. We're ⅔ of the way thru Biden's term, and there's not much time left in which to do something concrete about Trump. R431, she comes from my neighborhood. I'm not surprised in the least she really believes it. The Catholic girls school she went to, built something like a media center and it's named after her. I wonder if the girls will eventually protest having it named for such filth.

by Anonymousreply 433March 10, 2023 5:31 AM

I want to know the identity of the woman who supposedly sent the self-admitted "wackadoodle" email to Sidney Powell, which she then passed on to Maria Bartiromo - the one who claimed to be a time traveler who was "internally decapitated." "The Wind tells me I'm a ghost, but I don't believe it." Etc.

by Anonymousreply 434March 10, 2023 5:51 AM

I read some of Bartiromo's texts to Bannon and she does sound like a true believer. When did she undergo the transformation? Or was she always this way

by Anonymousreply 435March 10, 2023 6:24 AM

I just remember one of those nutso interviews Bartiromo did with Dump early in his term--he was going on and on about nonsense like submarines going under the water--she was all gaga and like "tell me more about that, President Trump." She is a true believer.

Although I'm not sure why people think she was some kind of great journalist to begin with--she had big tits and could read stock quotes off a teleprompter, that was about all she had going for her.

by Anonymousreply 436March 10, 2023 6:39 AM

R434 I believe the wackadoodle was identified in at least one of the MSNBC shows. I think it might have been Alex Wagner. Too tired to look it up.

Fuck yourself r427. How obvious can you be?

Your side has managed to create an atmosphere of such vile, power-loving political leaders to the point that our President *could not* at that early stage publicly verify that Russia interfered. If he had done that before a fucking ELECTION, they would’ve accused him of election interference and they would have had Obama charged if he did that. We would have seen even bigger violence than 1/6.

And then after the election was over, he couldn’t say sitting right then because Obama’s job was to set up the next President to win. And again, had he publicly stated that Russia interfered in the first weeks/months after the election, it would have rip-off our country apart. Obama had to discern the potential for violence because clearly, the GOP looooooooves violence.

The ONLY thing that could have worked was if Obama announce it *and* the GOP leadership all cooperated and showed trust in our investigative agencies and in Obama as a leader. And guess what? They will never put country over party. They have never done the right thing, fuck, look at what they’re saying right now about 1/6 on FoxNews!!!

So, like I said, fuck yourself r427. GTFOH throwing Obama under the bus when the real problem was the GOP, particularly in the House. You’re a POS because you refuse to tell the whole truth. I don’t respect liars.

by Anonymousreply 445March 11, 2023 1:13 AM

[quote]R445: How obvious can you be?

About what? Stating the facts? Obama knew the Russians were interfering.

[quote]Your side has managed to create an atmosphere of such vile, power-loving political leaders to the point that our President *could not* at that early stage publicly verify that Russia interfered.

'𝑀𝑦 𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒'? My side has always been the Democrats. But I'm pretty sure you're already aware of that, and are using a sock to go on a screaming tear.

[quote] And again, had he publicly stated that Russia interfered in the first weeks/months after the election, it would have rip-off our country apart. Obama had to discern the potential for violence because clearly, the GOP looooooooves violence.

Since that point, violence has resulted anyway. It hadn't before, and wasn't something that could have been anticipated then. Exposing Trump's Russian connections would not have resulted in the kind of violence his followers have performed since he became entrenched as president, and afterwards.

R445, you're screaming as though I defended the GOP, something I have never done. It was a judgement call on Obama's part, and given what happened as a result of the Trump presidency, the wrong one. The election was already being interfered with by both the Russians, the GOP, and by Comey. It could not have been any further loss to tell the truth.

[quote]You’re a POS because you refuse to tell the whole truth. I don’t respect liars.

Sock-puppeting and whataboutism are dishonest. And the only one who has lied here has been you, Matt.

Tucker should win an Oscar on Sunday

by Anonymousreply 447March 11, 2023 11:30 PM

R446, your lies are based upon “context”. You are trying to make it look at though Obama was derelict in his duty, and what I’m telling you is that if the Conservatives were actually true fucking patriots, they would have linked arms with Obama to tackle this problem together. Obama had to keep the peace and faith in our system because he knew he would have no backup in Congress, he was cornered at that specific moment in time. So the Rethugs refused to publicly back up Obama on Russian interference…..And yet, you conveniently ignore that in your reply. Tell me, what do you think the GOP would have done *exactly* if Obama had announced it? How would they respond? And then, how would the rest of the country respond while being told their new GOP President isn’t the “real” President, told by his competitor, a person who happens to be a black man in America?

I am not saying I’m happy with how it played out. But to throw Obama to the wolves without ONCE mentioning the dereliction of the GOP? That’s just disingenuous. If you don’t name all the players, then you’re blatantly leaving out key facts, and I call that bullshite.

by Anonymousreply 448March 12, 2023 12:33 AM

[quote]R448: You are trying to make it look at though Obama was derelict in his duty.

I never said anything like that. I said he made a judgement call, and it was clearly the wrong one.

[quote] if the Conservatives were actually true fucking patriots, they would have linked arms with Obama to tackle this problem together.

Well, they're not, and never were. Many of them were (and are) secretly working with the Russians.

[quote]Obama had to keep the peace and faith in our system because he knew he would have no backup in Congress, he was cornered at that specific moment in time.

No. I do not accept that. He still could have told. It would have changed everything.

[quote]So the Rethugs refused to publicly back up Obama on Russian interference…..And yet, you conveniently ignore that in your reply. Tell me, what do you think the GOP would have done *exactly* if Obama had announced it? How would they respond?

Irrelevant.

[quote]And then, how would the rest of the country respond while being told their new GOP President isn’t the “real” President, told by his competitor, a person who happens to be a black man in America?

Trump wouldn't have been "their new GOP President," since Obama's disclosure of Russian interference and Trump's affiliation with them would have been even more devastating on election results than the Comey letter was. All of the subsequent shit, including Trump's hold on the GOP, would never have happened.

You place way too much focus on the Republicans, and are too much in favor of bowing down to them. And your fixation on Obama's blackness says more about your own priorities than anything else.

[quote]If you don’t name all the players, then you’re blatantly leaving out key facts.

If you think the Republicans mean so much, then you're free to talk about them. But you have no business misrepresenting the posts of others.

[quote]—Not Matt

Of course you are. The aggression, the misrespresentation, the whataboutism, the far right reasoning, the racism, the fact that you targeted me on the thread - it's clear who you really are.

by Anonymousreply 450March 12, 2023 12:45 PM

If Dominion wins its lawsuit, will the indicted or convicted J6 insurrectionists have any case to sue Fox? I've seen this possibility mentioned a couple of times, but is it realistic? They were misled and given false information, but yet they ultimately chose to commit various crimes. Do they have any basis for some sort of class action? They are the types to sue at the mere hint of cash payout.

by Anonymousreply 451March 12, 2023 4:00 PM

^ Fortunately, for Fox’s sake, they’ll never know about that.

by Anonymousreply 452March 12, 2023 4:02 PM

I'm sure there are enterprising lawyers out there who will clue them in and let them know about Fox's deep pockets, that they were done wrong, that it's unfair Dominion gets so much money and they got left holding the bag, etc. The only thing that will dislodge their noses from Trump's Crack is financial incentive. But do they actually have a legal basis?

by Anonymousreply 453March 12, 2023 4:25 PM

Legally, it maybe possible but it may be too difficult to prove in a court of law? IDK

by Anonymousreply 454March 12, 2023 6:36 PM

Isn’t it true that Murdock didn’t really control the operations at Fox? He was nominally the owner but he also had investors, and the real person in charge was some Jewish guy who was at the top when Fox was at its most influential and damaging.

by Anonymousreply 455March 12, 2023 10:39 PM

R455, sure, it was George Soros who was secretly running FOX News all the time. That was the problem.

Seriously, wtf? Murdoch owns 39% of FOX. He’s really the boss. The late, notorious Roger Ailes, the former CEO of FOX, was Catholic.

by Anonymousreply 456March 12, 2023 11:11 PM

- This is in additional to the $1.6 BILLION Dominion lawsuit against Fox News - The case is against Fox News, the Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo, the former business anchor Lou Dobbs and Trump’s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani. - The Smartmatic complaint alleges that the “Defendants did not want Biden to win the election. Judge sends Dominion lawsuit against Fox News to trial.

"Judge Eric Davis concluded that Dominion Voting Systems, which makes election equipment, had proven that Fox aired a series of false claims about the company, but that depositions, internal emails and text messages had not established whether Fox acted with “actual malice” by carrying statements on its air that it knew were false or likely so.

The evidence is “CRYSTAL clear that none of the Statements relating to Dominion about the 2020 election are true,” Davis wrote. Fox’s false statements included assertions that the company was controlled by Venezuela and implemented a bizarre algorithm to boost Democrats’ vote count under certain conditions, the judge said."

"Davis has set jury selection for April 13 and the trial to begin in April 17 in Delaware Superior Court in Wilmington, assuming that the sides don’t reach a financial settlement in the meantime."

Considering all of the death threats Dominion employees have gotten, I hope for them, it goes beyond the money and they expose everything about that shit company. They need to be shunned by the media elites. FOX cares about ratings, but they care more about being in the "inner circle." No credible journalist will want to be anywhere near a FOX propagandist.

by Anonymousreply 478April 2, 2023 6:35 PM

For the death threats alone that the employees have and are still facing, FOX News the company ought to be utterly bankrupted and buried.

by Anonymousreply 479April 2, 2023 7:08 PM

I agree that Fox should be fucking destroyed by this lawsuit. Not only did they spread lies purposefully, they endangered lives. But they did it for ratings, not malice. I’m worried Dominion won’t be able to prove malice.

I actually would recommend Dominion settle for a boatload of money, and I mean billions. But a requirement to settle is a public statement by Fox admitting to all the lies. And they have to cover it on Fox on every show. For a week.

by Anonymousreply 480April 12, 2023 12:48 PM

Disgusting hucksters and frauds

by Anonymousreply 481April 12, 2023 12:52 PM

R480 I think they can prove malice. See:

[quote]In 1964 the court issued an opinion in New York Times Co. v. Sullivan, 376 U.S. 254 (1964) dramatically changing the nature of libel law in the United States. In that case, the court determined that public officials could win a suit for libel only if they could demonstrate "actual malice" on the part of reporters or publishers. In that case, "actual malice" was defined as "knowledge that the information was false" or that it was published "with reckless disregard of whether it was false or not".

If that precedent holds, I think it's fairly clear that Fox promoted information they knew was false.

by Anonymousreply 482April 12, 2023 12:52 PM

R482, agree! Under that definition, Dominion’s case is a slam dunk actually.

by Anonymousreply 483April 12, 2023 12:58 PM

R483 I won't say slam dunk because juries are fickle but I think that's why Dominion has refused to settle so far.

by Anonymousreply 484April 12, 2023 1:00 PM

What R482. FOX was literally sent thousands of emails by Dominion with corrections in *real time* and FOX ignored every last one of them.

And it's obvious Dominion doesn't want to settle because the CEO is pissed at what he and his employees had to endure from the trash who watch that garbage network. You could tell in his 60 Minutes interview that he was seething inside at the hell they put his people through.

by Anonymousreply 485April 12, 2023 1:11 PM

What R482 said*

by Anonymousreply 486April 12, 2023 1:21 PM

I wonder if the sticking point in a settlement is that Dominion is insisting that Fox apologize on air and/or brief their viewers on the shady shit they did. If I were them, I would settle if Fox gave them money and an on air apology.

I bet Fox is willing to pull up the Brinks truck but won’t admit to anything to their viewers.

As Fox Corp. prepares to fight a looming and potentially high-profile defamation case, it has agreed to settle another.

The company, which owns Fox News, has reached a confidential agreement to resolve a defamation case levied against it by Venezuelan businessman Majed Khalil that alleged Fox News and former host Lou Dobbs had harmed Khalil’s reputation by stating he and three others developed programs and machines to rig the 2020 presidential election.

“This matter has been resolved amicably by both sides. We have no further comment,” Fox News said in a statement after being contacted by Variety. A letter filed Saturday to Judge Louis L. Stanton of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York informed authorities that the parties in the case “have reached a confidential agreement to resolve this matter. The parties anticipate filing a joint stipulation of dismissal with prejudice early next week.”

In the case, initially filed in 2021, Khalil alleged that comments made by Dobbs in 2020 on Fox Business Network and on Twitter that suggested he was “COO of the election project” in which officials from Venezuela conspired with voting-technology firms Smartmatic Inc. and Dominion Voting Systems tried to make sure President Donald Trump lost, harmed his reputation. Dobbs also said Khalil was “a liaison with Hezbollah” who “executed an electoral 9-11″ and a “cyber Pearl Harbor” against the United States, according to his initial complaint.

The 2020 presidential election was not rigged, according to multiple officials, but Fox’s Dobbs amplified statements made by Trump aides like Sidney Powell, an attorney for the former president who saw her media profile widen after she rattled off multiple unproven conspiracy theories to reporters covering the race for the White House. President Joe Biden won the election.

A judge ruled in February of last year that Khalil’s case had standing, despite Fox’s efforts to have the case dismissed.

Dobbs’ long-running Fox Business program was cancelled in 2021, after he had been named in the Smartmatic suit.

The settlement comes as Fox Corp. and Fox News are about to face a jury in a trial slated to begin next week in Wilmington, Delaware. In that case, Dominion Voting is seeking $1.6 billion in damages related to what it alleges was Fox News’ repeated circulation of claims that it played a role in swaying the 2020 election for Biden.

At issue in the case are damages Dominion alleges it is owed after Fox News aired false claims about its actions and influence on the 2020 election. It is the second legal proceeding made against Fox News for its coverage of the aftermath of the 2020 race for the White House. Smartmatic, a separate voting technology company, has filed a massive $2.7 billion suit against the company. Both suits allege that Fox News falsely claimed the companies had rigged the election, repeated items about the matter and then refused to engage in efforts to set the record straight. Fox has maintained that it is protected against Dominion’s claims by the First Amendment.

by Anonymousreply 489April 12, 2023 2:20 PM

Has Dominion even asked for billions, R480? I thought they sought damages “only” in the amount of $1.6 billion.

by Anonymousreply 490April 12, 2023 3:51 PM

R490, if the jury finds FOX guilty they can assess punitive damages, so FOX’s potential exposure goes well beyond the $1.6 billion in actual damages.

by Anonymousreply 495April 12, 2023 6:58 PM

R498 that’s exactly what I was talking about. I’m feeling very certain that Dominion would settle IF Fox went on air and admitted to their own audience what they did. "A long-awaited defamation case being brought by a voting technology firm against Fox News has been delayed by a day and is now due to start on Tuesday.

Dominion Voting Systems is suing the TV network for $1.6bn, claiming it knowingly spread lies about its voting machines after the 2020 election.

The judge ordering the 24-hour postponement gave no reason but US media report Fox News is seeking to settle the case.

In a statement on Sunday evening, Delaware Superior Court judge Eric Davis said only that he would announce at 9am local time Monday (1400bst) that the start of the trial would be delayed by 24 hours.

Citing two sources with knowledge of the situation, the Washington Post has reported that Fox and Dominion representatives were scheduled to meet on Monday to see if they could come to a last-minute deal before the trial begins."

Notice NBC let Trump continue to have his show despite his racist birtherism crap? Those networks are the only reason that fucking dogshit ever became president. They used to cover his rallies live. Free publicity from all of those "fake news" networks. But he then expected them to become his PRAVDA once he became president.

[quote]I'm curious: Does Tucker work out of the NY or DC studio? Which elitist city is it?

He reports from the godless apocalyptic hellscape of NYC.

by Anonymousreply 510April 17, 2023 2:09 PM

r509 Not exactly true, Fox News created him. They brought him on daily almost as a political commentator after his first failed presidential run. The Fox News folks got daily meetings with Trump and his opinion of Obama for eight years. They created him.

by Anonymousreply 511April 17, 2023 2:13 PM

R511, the networks also brought him on. People like Joe and Mika legitimized him. His claims about "sending investigators to HI and they're finding a lot of things" were never challenged. They just allowed him to lie. And he was the only one whose rallies they'd cover live. I recall that because that's when I just stopped watching.

Even former FOX anchor Gretchen Carlson is begging Dominion not to settle:

"PLEASE Dominion --- Do not settle with Fox! You're about to prove something very big."

by Anonymousreply 513April 17, 2023 2:21 PM

[quote]settle. I think the only way Dominion will settle is if they admit they lied.

Like that would make a difference? We already know from the texts that they lied and it made no difference with the troglodytes.

No, it needs to be bankrupted for this egregious situation.

by Anonymousreply 514April 17, 2023 2:39 PM

To this day, Dominion gets threats because the flying monkey cultists still believe the absolute garbage they were fed. I hope that CEO looks at his kids and thinks about the threats to his family and also thinks about the employees who went through hell due to FOX and he keeps telling the lawyers that money is not enough and that he wants FOX and it's disgusting mouthpieces to go through hell the way they did. Rupert Murdoch and his fucking shit son need to be put on the stand. I'm tired of the power these evil people have and have just destroyed the way the American govt conducts itself.

by Anonymousreply 515April 17, 2023 2:46 PM

If I were Dominion, the settlement would require Fox to have a constant read in big, bold letters at the bottom of the screen stating "THIS IS ENTERTAINMENT, NOT NEWS. NONE OF THIS IS BASED ON REALITY." And an announcement of same would be required before every commercial break/every fifteen minutes at a very audible volume.

by Anonymousreply 516April 17, 2023 2:51 PM

Their employees, their families, and children may never be safe again because they lied --OVER AND OVER-- to morons and crazy people. There isn't enough money in the fucking world to make up for that shit. Screw settling with them!

by Anonymousreply 520April 17, 2023 3:23 PM

Rupert & Lachlan could have stopped the lies. They refused because of their political ideology and the craving of profits. Their dismissal of the truth is not forgivable.

by Anonymousreply 521April 18, 2023 2:14 PM

Glad to see Dominion didn't settle and are pressing ahead with the lawsuit.

by Anonymousreply 522April 18, 2023 2:24 PM

Great news! The trial is officially underway and 12 jurors have been seated. On the alternate jurors now.

Reports say that it was Fox pushing to settle and Dominion refused. Not just that they don't have a good case Fuxx obviously would also not want the media attention - Tucker, Rupert and co will have to take the stand.

by Anonymousreply 523April 18, 2023 2:36 PM

Jury selection is now complete.

by Anonymousreply 524April 18, 2023 4:05 PM

This is strange - what are Fox trying for with these exhibits?

"Fox News has just unveiled some of their exhibits for the Dominion trial. They include four separate clips from the Hit TV series, 'The Simpsons'. The four episodes all show Homer Simpson voting in Presidential elections. They are as follows:

"Treehouse of Horror XIX" where Homer Votes for Obama

"Homer Votes 2012" where Homer votes for Mitt Romney.

"Homer Votes 2016" where Putin tries to convince Homer to vote for Donald Trump.

"Treehouse of Horror XXXI" where Homer is indecisive when going to vote for Biden or Trump"

by Anonymousreply 525April 18, 2023 4:31 PM

Opening statements will begin after lunch and both sides will take about an hour and a half each to do so. Witnesses won’t be called today, but will be tomorrow.

by Anonymousreply 526April 18, 2023 4:32 PM

Tucker is a huge celebrity in Russia. Putin is a fan of his and mentions him all of the time. Gee, I wonder why.

by Anonymousreply 527April 18, 2023 4:37 PM

Sounds like a winning strategy for Fox r525!

by Anonymousreply 528April 18, 2023 4:41 PM

Will Sidney Powell be testifying?

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 529April 18, 2023 5:10 PM

I don't know (she isn't an employee, she's a guest so probably not?) but this is delicious:

“Sidney Powell is lying, by the way. I caught her. It’s insane,” Carlson wrote in one such message, even as Fox continued to air Powell’s claims about Dominion.

Hard to understand how Fuxx can win this.

by Anonymousreply 530April 18, 2023 5:12 PM

R529- if there is a God she will!

by Anonymousreply 531April 18, 2023 5:13 PM

R525, but aren’t The Simpsons on a different FOX channel? Maybe they should show clips from the FOX Weather channel, too, I’m sure that’s just as relevant.

by Anonymousreply 532April 18, 2023 5:39 PM

Are they televising the trial?

by Anonymousreply 533April 18, 2023 6:39 PM

R533, no, and they absolutely should be.

by Anonymousreply 535April 18, 2023 6:55 PM

There is a settlement according to the judge.

by Anonymousreply 536April 18, 2023 7:59 PM

Yep.

by Anonymousreply 537April 18, 2023 8:15 PM

Boo.

by Anonymousreply 538April 18, 2023 8:16 PM

Hope there's loads of provisions in the settlement for T C, S H, L I to apologise on air to Fox viewers loud and often for all their lies.

by Anonymousreply 539April 18, 2023 8:20 PM

Not anymore.

by Anonymousreply 540April 18, 2023 8:26 PM

by Anonymousreply 541April 18, 2023 8:28 PM

God damn mother fucking assholes got off easy.

Fucking Dominion, what a bunch of pussies.

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

by Anonymousreply 542April 18, 2023 8:46 PM

R542, they were only obligated to act in their own interests, not ours.

To be honest, if this case went to trial there was always the potential for it to set a bad precedent for suits against the news media.

by Anonymousreply 543April 18, 2023 8:51 PM

The reason they settled: it's a guarantee of nearly a billion they otherwise would not have gotten if just 1 juror thought it wasn't libel. This was a business decision.

by Anonymousreply 544April 18, 2023 8:51 PM

Everyone who isn't a Fox fanatic sees this as Fox admitting it lied.

And Dominioni says it's going after the pillow guy, Guiliani, and Powell.

by Anonymousreply 545April 18, 2023 8:52 PM

Newsmax apologized to Dominion as it settled its own lawsuit with Dominian.

by Anonymousreply 546April 18, 2023 8:54 PM

[quote]And Dominioni says it's going after the pillow guy, Guiliani, and Powell.

Let's hope we hear about it.

Meanwhile, the idiots spewing the shit on the channel got off scot-free.

by Anonymousreply 547April 18, 2023 9:54 PM

Plus there’s that other company, suing them, for even more money.

Smartmatic.

Which is only further confirmation as to how idiotic and brain-washed you have to be to watch that garbage network. On what planet does any company or person accused of wrongdoing, hands over almost a billions dollars if they're innocent?

by Anonymousreply 551April 18, 2023 11:56 PM

Ha, Dominion accepts a $75 million settlement from Fox. Fox is happy so all the dirt doesn't come out.

Sorry. $700 million

by Anonymousreply 553April 19, 2023 12:07 AM
