The "Scream" franchise
When you think about it, these movies are very soap opera-y, but mostly in a good way, because they avoid the worst soap tropes like evil twins and dead people constantly coming back to life. The Billy hallucinations in 5 were really pushing it, though.
VI looks fun and I'm having a blast reading the Scream subreddit.

Well the original trilogy was based around Maureen Prescott and her Billy and Stu murdering her.
Since Scream 4, it’s revolved more so around “Stab” and really superficial motives so the movies are weaker.
When you really watch Scream, it’s really a crime mystery movie about finding out who murdered Maureen. Sidney was her daughter and Gale wrote the book about the murder that defended the wrongly accused Cotton,
There was that tension between Sid and Gale. And then add in Dewey who was the middle man.
Now there’s just nothing in my opinion. The new cast is super obnoxious and I wanted them to die.

I still like my Scream idea where the anniversary is coming up and a bunch of teenage friend duos in Woodsboro decide to become Ghostface and they start killing each other.
Almost kind of like a play on “no idea is original” and social media contagion, Like it’s not one duo that came up with the idea to go on a killing spree but like 10 duos came up with the same idea lol.

I thought that was were Scream 2 was headed, r2. When all of the frat turned up in cloaks to haze Jerry O'Connell I was thinking that everyone on campus was doing Ghostface.

I read some believable Scream VI spoilers on reddit:
It sounds like a pretty good movie, but I have issues. The motive/mastermind is unique for this series, but the two killers doing the "dirty work" are not: Yet another love interest and basically a Charlie (seriously, radio silence?) from Scream 4 knockoff. How exciting. Plus, everyone from 5 survives (too safe).

I think the franchise jumped the shark with the whole Billy's Secret Daughter stuff. I hate retcon, and the franchise already did enough of it with Roman being Maureen's secret son. Any other secret babies want to jump out of the woodwork? When will we get Gale's secret baby that she gave up for adoption 25 years ago?

I bet Neve was behind the leak.

Either that or a Samara Weaving fan is trying to force them to do some quick reshoots with Samara as a killer/mastermind.

It's the most predictable and boring killers ever.

Dead people do come back to live in this franchise OP as when you think the killer is dead only for them to have
one last mad gasp of murder in them (see the end of Scream 2 for example & the psycho Roseanne actress).
Also the two killers trope each film (but one) has to have is basically "evil twins who don't look exactly alike" but whatever.

I can't imagine a Scream movie without Sydney and Dewey. Been a fan since the beginning. I also love urban horror movies so I'm pumped for this one.

The ending for Scream 6 has leaked. Paramount has been trying to scrub the internet of the clip, but the damage appears to already have been done.
It's here if you want to see it:

Apparently, there is a Ghostface killer that doesn't get revealed.
The ones that were revealed (and their motive) = lame...
