He is (possibly) a bisexual drug addict (definitely) who spent most of the 1990s in a state of full blown substance abuse. This included publicly known blackout incidents. The rumor of a sexual assault in prison might have occurred. But it was during a time when HIV positive people were often not treated with medication until they absolutely needed to be -- leaving them super infectious at times. The most likely scenario is that if he were to have contracted STI's it would have been the result of being a blackout addict in LA during the 90s
