White Police Officer Shot Dead by Black Suspect in Pittsburgh Suburb
Governor Shapiro has ordered all flags in PA to fly at half-staff in honor of Officer Sluganski. The outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelmingly pro-police. This officer came from a great family and did not deserve to die like this at age 32.
Of course the national media is ignoring this story, as it doesn't fit the narrative of police hunting down innocent black men. Joy Reid and Al Sharpton think cops are on heightened alert when dealing with black men due to racism, not reality.

There are police killed every day, sadly. OP, are the national news media outlets supposed to be reporting on all of them, or singling them out, as you have?

As long as the police unions--who should have as much of a say in the matter as anyone--in this country allow us to be held hostage by the NRA, they're signing their own death sentences.

The suspect also shot a black cop... the partner of the dead officer.
No way should that crazy violent suspect have been allowed to own a gun. His own mother is the one who called the cops.

R13 That will happen as soon as Al Sharpton talks about this on his show "Politics Nation" this week, and flies out to comfort the family, and hold a press conference on the front steps of their home. Then 'The View' will have his parents on the show in a few days, and talk to them about losing their son, and Sunny will explain 'racism' to us once again, and how she always has 'the talk' with her 6' 200 pound black son about never killing a white police officer....
Which means: Never.

RIP to this guy but this is not breaking news. When police murder someone over a mere traffic stop, THAT is breaking news as police are supposed to protect society and not be criminals themselves.

R30 And because their low iq dimwits. Their mafuckin cops. Danger and violence are bound to be in their presence with homicides being extremely rare. You know how many cops died from MURDER in all of the country last year. 30. That's less than 1% of all cops. However the death rate of cops from things that usually kill people was much higher.

What a terrible tragedy. It's not easy to find people willing to serv etheir communities and risk their lives every day doing it. This is the way to deter good cops and get stuck with the ones who shouldn't be cops.
The US was founded on the citizenry being able to arm themselves against the government. That is what the Constitution is all about.

And do you know how many unarmed African-Americans were killed by police last year? 20. Yet you would believe it's an epidemic if you listened to Al Sharpton pretty much anytime he opened his mouth.

Morevover, here is a long, heart wrenching thread by a mother who had to watch her autistic son be arrested, hauled off to jail AND denied his med for THREE DAYS when (it appears) some other kids swatted him.
He husband, a physician, was also arrested and charged with interference.
Only by the grace of God this child isn't one of the 20 who died because of disregard for his life.

Police aren't killed every day. Loggers, roofers, tree workers, delivery drivers, concience store workers and fisherman have way more dangerous jobs. When a cop dies it's way more likely that they died driving like an asshole rather than being shot by some asshole.

And, by the way, let's also remember that the Chief of Police in Pittsburgh is allowing officers to ignore city ordinances against random searches because it's good for morale.
