Are we going to see the revocation of marriage equality? Return to bans on interracial marriage? Discrimination based on hate of another?
It seems red states are institutionalizing hate just because.
How far does this go?

civil war in one form or another.
It will likely be decades, i.e. even the youngest of us will likely be dead before the states separate.. without greater external circumstances or events.
but expect the public to become even more divided, we've already been pushed to establish it as a collective norm.
But the majority will cling to indifference, save a few days before elections.. leaving it largely to the extremists to serve as proxies while the rest of us grow to become even more jaded, despondent, apathetic or merely realizing the big picture doesn't account for our individual pixels.
the bigger, bigger picture is too much to think of.... especially as we see similar trends in the rest of the world as well.
Though the highlights would be whereas progressive nations are becoming more authoritarian, the more authoritarian are losing their grips on control.
