She clearly has a better voice than you know who.
Why wasn’t Kelly Rowland a bigger success?

Pure luck on Beyonce's part - and bad luck on Kelly's part?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | February 10, 2023 8:31 PM |
Because at least Kelly had the dignity to not sleep with Jay-Z in exchange to become a manufactured diva.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 10, 2023 8:33 PM |
Always loved her voice.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 10, 2023 8:35 PM |
Her father didn't sell her to Jay-Z.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 10, 2023 8:36 PM |
IMO, she's also better-looking than Beyonce.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 10, 2023 8:38 PM |
Because everyone got her mixed up with the obese, baby elephant Kelly Osbourne.

The appeal was for the group. When the group broke up, the appeal evaporated. One person emerges; the others fade Similar to the Supremes, In-Sync, Backstreet...even The Beatles---while the individual members succeeded, Paul McCartney dominated.

These supposed talented people don't know the most important thing in the music biz. Find great songs

She's got a better personality than the B as well.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 11, 2023 12:34 AM |
Thanks Muriel for the blocking this tiresome bitch of an OP!

She's NOT better looking than Beyonce
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 11, 2023 2:16 AM |
She’s not as beautiful as Beyoncé. That’s really matters these days. And there’s colourism
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 11, 2023 2:21 AM |
She is prettier than Beyoncé to me. So was LeToya. Beyoncé was always overrated lookswise. Janelle Monae, Ashanti and Ciara are also very pretty.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 11, 2023 2:29 AM |
OP, do you see the troll warning published with your post, by any chance?
Just wondering.
Praise to Muriel, you phobic, divisive crank.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 11, 2023 2:36 AM |
I think Solange is beautiful too. She wears her natural hair and has a better fashion style. Kelly looks way better natural too and she's aging better. Beyonce still wears that obviously fake blonde weave, she looks better with her natural dark hair.

R16 Yes. People can't have opinions that contradict your own. Stop being a fascist.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 11, 2023 2:37 AM |
So who gets to sit in the control room and write the red flares that go with the trolls? I’m still on “Posting from Slovenia about a local primary.”
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 11, 2023 2:39 AM |
Her biggest issue was she simply lacked the competitive attitude. She always stepped aside for Beyoncé to have the spotlight. Despite the fact Beyoncé never promotes her. Kelly's not greedy or extremely hungry for fame. She's laid-back and content with what she has and seems to be enjoying life with her hubby and kids. Music is just a hobby for her. I don't think colorism plays in her because she's very attractive with sex appeal. Whitney, Brandy, Janet, Ashanti and Ciara were brown skinned and had a lot of success. I think beauty and charisma can counteract the effects of colorism. She was marketable. The lack of good songs and ambition played a big role. She didn't compromise her morals or was willing to put out for good tracks like others in the biz. She's happy, made her dough and that's all that matters.

She's had threesomes with Bey and Jay.

I love her song Work.

Love your new moniker, OP.
You've been serving up a whole lot of cunt realness lately.
Asshole.

Datalounge is monitored like reddit is.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 11, 2023 12:37 PM |
R25 Goodness, no. Reddit mods are notoriously biased and ban people for the stupidest things. If Muriel wants to rid trolls, she's going to need to enact a three strikes system and let users make reports.

THANK YOU, MURIEL for the troll warning!!
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 11, 2023 12:46 PM |
She was the star to me.

I think Kelly is very talented, but outside of a few killer tracks over the years, there's always been something missing from a lot of her solo music. It's like she gets 80% of the way there.
I have to say, I think she may have missed her late-career calling of having her own talk show. I've happened to catch several of her talk show appearances over the past couple of years and the woman is sharp, funny, relatable and emotionally intelligent -- whether cutting loose and telling some fun, silly anecdotes or speaking with enormous grace and maturity about forgiving and reuniting with her absentee father.
Honestly, she'd be much better than Jennifer Hudson (who seems very sweet, but is so inarticulate and awkward.) Unfortunately, with both J Hud and Sherri having successful (and recently renewed) shows, I doubt most execs would be open-minded enough to even consider another Black woman for a syndicated talk show.

And here she is speaking with and about her father with such emotional intelligence. Someone get this woman her own show.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 11, 2023 1:05 PM |
She’s actually prettier now than she was back in her youth. I love this song
by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 11, 2023 3:21 PM |
I thought she was amazing in "A Woman Under the Influence" and quite stunning in the classic "Gloria".
by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 11, 2023 3:30 PM |
I always thought she could have played Whitney Houston as she's tall and slender with a rich brown tone. I was surprised they didn't cast her.
