I don’t think he’s ever had any work done: This is what your average 50-something old looks like.

by Anonymousreply 1February 10, 2023 7:20 PM

See, Perry is clearly not well and hasn’t been in years. But nobody wants to imprison him in his home and steal his money. Because he’s a man. That’s all. I’m done here.

by Anonymousreply 2February 10, 2023 7:21 PM

Team Matthew. Get that Starbucks. Get that money. Fuck the haters.

by Anonymousreply 3February 10, 2023 7:21 PM

He looks older and heavier but he actually looks more sober now. His skin doesn’t have that red dried out alcoholic look it did.

by Anonymousreply 4February 10, 2023 7:21 PM

I am 57. I look at least 20 years younger than this. My peers don’t look like this either.

by Anonymousreply 5February 10, 2023 7:23 PM

His eyes look extremely puffy...like some water retention is happening. Could be medications he's taking. But he looks lucid and with it.

I hope he's keeping as healthy as possible. At least he's not posting non-sensical crap on Instagram and appears to be living a life outside his home and going about his business.

by Anonymousreply 6February 10, 2023 7:24 PM

He looks heavier but no worse than he usually looks.

by Anonymousreply 7February 10, 2023 7:25 PM

You sound like an absolute narcissistic CUNT R5.

I hope your face catches up with your ugly personality.

by Anonymousreply 8February 10, 2023 7:28 PM

Keanu Reeves is laughing his ass off

by Anonymousreply 9February 10, 2023 7:31 PM

PIVOT! PIVOT! PIVOT!

by Anonymousreply 10February 10, 2023 7:31 PM

He looks great

by Anonymousreply 11February 10, 2023 8:08 PM

I remember when there were so many squeals at late night appearances for “the sexy Friend” that they had to close caption “sorry girls, he’s married” on the screen in hopes of somehow piercing the deafening screams.

by Anonymousreply 12February 10, 2023 8:40 PM

Haha....I just saw that episode again yesterday r10!

by Anonymousreply 13February 10, 2023 9:01 PM

Just say "no" to drugs!

by Anonymousreply 14February 10, 2023 9:09 PM

R1 only because in this country adults of that age are usually unhealthy due to consumption of junk food, drugs, cigarettes and alcohol, while neglecting to excercize. So yes, he is a typical 50 something in the US.

But, a healthy 50+ doesn’t look like that.

by Anonymousreply 15February 10, 2023 9:11 PM

Perfect casting for Steve Bannon in the film version of FIRE AND FURY.

by Anonymousreply 16February 10, 2023 9:12 PM

I don't get why Hollywood stars go outside knowing they will be photographed looking like this.

He doesn't look well but he could have looked a lot better if he done some intensive grooming.

by Anonymousreply 17February 10, 2023 9:15 PM

[quote]But, a healthy 50+ doesn’t look like that.

100%.

by Anonymousreply 18February 10, 2023 9:16 PM

Steve Brannon doppelgänger

by Anonymousreply 19February 10, 2023 9:17 PM

Why does his chin go straight down to his chest?

by Anonymousreply 20February 10, 2023 9:23 PM

The closet kills. Sad.

by Anonymousreply 21February 10, 2023 9:23 PM

I hope he’s staying sober. Having read the memoir I wonder if he still gets the volume of pussy he said he used to get.

by Anonymousreply 22February 10, 2023 9:35 PM

He can't have any cosmetic surgery because his addiction issues make him unable to take painkillers. 🙁

by Anonymousreply 23February 10, 2023 9:57 PM

[quote]I don’t think he’s ever had any work done: This is what your average 50-something old looks like.

Only if your average 50-something year old male was an alcoholic and addicted to junk food and pill popping for the past 30 years.

by Anonymousreply 24February 10, 2023 10:11 PM

"while neglecting to excercize."

R15, you can't even spell the word "exercise," so I can only imagine how YOU look.

by Anonymousreply 25February 10, 2023 10:30 PM

"Intensive grooming" for a Starbucks run, R17?

by Anonymousreply 26February 10, 2023 10:32 PM

I wonder what he ordered?

by Anonymousreply 27February 10, 2023 10:36 PM

Mocha Cookie Crumble Frapaccino. In his special 128-ounce Team Gulp cup. Total calories: 3,500.

by Anonymousreply 28February 10, 2023 11:41 PM

I am ready for the he's Dead to Me: thread

by Anonymousreply 29February 11, 2023 12:23 AM

I live in the midwest and am not into fitness and he looks 10 years older than me. He has the money to lead a lot better life.

by Anonymousreply 30February 11, 2023 12:28 AM

More proof if you needed it that life is hard for everyone.

by Anonymousreply 31February 11, 2023 12:36 AM

I feel bad for him. Nobody wants to become a drug addict, and those who become addicts do so because they're in a great deal of pain.

by Anonymousreply 32February 11, 2023 12:52 AM

Staying in Hollywood must be triggering. He doesn't work enough that he couldn't move someplace he wouldn't be photographed and keep getting his shit together. I guess if it's the only life you know...

by Anonymousreply 33February 11, 2023 10:12 AM

He just seems miserable and unhealthy. It would be horrible to be famous.

by Anonymousreply 34February 11, 2023 11:48 AM

He also looks like am Margera.

by Anonymousreply 35February 11, 2023 11:49 AM

R32

I would feel bad for him if he didn’t basically wish death on Keanue Reeves for no reason.

by Anonymousreply 36February 11, 2023 11:55 AM

Oh, he had a reason, but the reason was 30 years out of date. There had been rumors very early on that Keanu was somehow responsible for River's death, so that's part of it.

But apparently Perry also says elsewhere in the book something like "why did Chris Farley die while Keanu still walks among us," using the same phrasing. To me, that sounds like he's just repeating the old 1990s jokes about how Keanu was a bad actor.

I wonder if the whole book is like that, full of references that would have made sense during the run of "Friends" decades ago, but seem bizarre today. Maybe he's been so screwed up for so long that he's like an old person with dementia, who can remember 1952 but can't remember yesterday.

by Anonymousreply 37February 11, 2023 12:53 PM

He looks like a fat 50 year-old man. They’re everywhere.

by Anonymousreply 38February 11, 2023 12:58 PM

Couldn’t he have some of the excess skin under his chin removed with needing opiate-type painkillers? Or medicate him but keep him hospitalized for two days and then send him to a health-centered spa (vs. actual rehab) for two weeks after that? I know alcoholics get surgery and take painkillers when it’s justifiable. Going without opiates after surgery might be uncomfortable for him, but looking at that is uncomfortable for everyone else.

Other than that, yeah, he looks older than his years, but not that bad. It’s possible that all the abdominal surgeries he had to have left scar tissue that makes exercising difficult.

I know it sounds ridiculous to suggest he NEEDS cosmetic surgery, but it his case the jarring unexpectedness of his appearance and his former fame are going to color people’s reactions to him for the rest of his life.

by Anonymousreply 39February 11, 2023 1:08 PM

R2 No hon, he's just a sad man. That doesn't make him crazy like Brit. He's not posting insane videos and acting like an unfit human. So there's the difference. Now run along and peddle your bullshit elsewhere.

by Anonymousreply 40February 11, 2023 1:22 PM

He has a weak chin to begin with and when he lost all his teeth due to his drug use his bones crumbled. Implants can prevent some bone loss but I don't think he got them.

'If you are subjected to bone loss in your jawbone, your face and mouth will suffer many consequences. The most obvious worry is how much your looks will change as a result. As the bones reabsorb, the excess skin and muscle begin to sag, giving you a very elderly look.'

by Anonymousreply 41February 11, 2023 1:23 PM

R35, do you mean Bam Margera or Ann-Margret?

by Anonymousreply 42February 11, 2023 1:49 PM

He was a cutie.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 43February 11, 2023 1:52 PM

In straight, front-facing photos his chin looked strong when he was young. But I think it was a little bit of an optical illusion. Even then he tended to have an undefined jaw with some fat deposits and straight in this photographed as a prominent chin instead of an incipient double or drooping chin. But at angles, the chi didn’t look at strong.

But the different is so dramatic, I have to think R41 has it right. Dental issues and bone loss contributed.

I say this as someone who also has, not a weak chin, but a short jaw. Weight gain does NOT look good on me. But I’m Perry’s age and I’m not seeing the kind of deterioration he has experience. That’s not average aging.

by Anonymousreply 44February 11, 2023 2:12 PM

Is he preparing to play Teddy Kennedy again?

by Anonymousreply 45February 11, 2023 2:17 PM

Paradoxically, osteoporosis-fighting drugs cause something that r41 mentions. “Phossy jaw”.

by Anonymousreply 46February 11, 2023 2:26 PM

Is that like Phossy hands?

by Anonymousreply 47February 11, 2023 2:56 PM

He needs a makeover. These random photos seem to play into his weaknesses.

by Anonymousreply 48February 11, 2023 3:27 PM

He doesn’t look like a Hollywood actor. He looks like a dumpy, (ex?) alkie of about 50.

We’re not remotely close to shocking here.

by Anonymousreply 49February 11, 2023 4:51 PM

I thought he died.

by Anonymousreply 50February 11, 2023 5:07 PM

[quote] I don’t think he’s ever had any work done: This is what your average 50-something old looks like.

This is definitely not what your average 53 year old looks like. Definitely not Hollywood’s ones either. This guy is a wreck.

by Anonymousreply 51February 11, 2023 6:39 PM

I don't know what an average 53-year-old looks like. Some look like Perry, some look a lot better than Perry, others look somewhere in between. He looks exactly like someone who, until recently (unless he's still using), was drug addled for most of his life. And he has the paunch of a 53-year-old who doesn't exercise at all--who literally drives to get his morning coffee. And he looks depressed. But honestly, he's looked like all that for years, at least to me.

by Anonymousreply 52February 11, 2023 6:46 PM

Instead of stressing to make himself look hot for the comfort of many of you here, perhaps part of his recovery is learning to accept himself as he is now and prioritize his health and sobriety. It’s just this type of looks-shaming, and pressure to forever appear 25 years old exemplified in this thread that fuels the insecurity of addicts like MP who are struggling.

by Anonymousreply 53February 12, 2023 2:56 AM

From an alcoholic to another, this is me in 9 years, minus the money, of course.

by Anonymousreply 54February 13, 2023 11:04 AM

Give me a few weeks and a 100 filters, and I'll make him look eternally youthful!

by Anonymousreply 55February 13, 2023 12:20 PM

What's really sad is that he doesn't even try to look decent. At the least he could get a decent haircut and shave.

by Anonymousreply 56February 13, 2023 12:22 PM

[quote]Instead of stressing to make himself look hot for the comfort of many of you here, perhaps part of his recovery is learning to accept himself as he is now and prioritize his health and sobriety.

His recent book would indicate otherwise. All he did was brag or trash others, and talk about his addiction as if he were a lost cause. He's clearly not in a place where he's trying to accept himself as he is.

by Anonymousreply 57February 13, 2023 12:36 PM

As part of the ensemble, “Friends” was able to distract from how angry and miserable he is 24/7, sober or intoxicated.

Of course, the show made him too famous to ever blend into an ensemble again which put his awful personality front-and-center which the audience rejected over and over again (“Mr. Sunshine,” “The New Odd Couple”).

Hopefully his money and his rock-solid sense of superiority over all living things keeps him happy.

by Anonymousreply 58February 13, 2023 1:12 PM

[quote]I feel bad for him. Nobody wants to become a drug addict, and those who become addicts do so because they're in a great deal of pain.

I don't buy that at all. Yes, there are plenty of alcoholics and drug addicts who had horrible childhoods and grew up with parents who were substance abusers, but there are plenty who did not. I don't buy the theory that if you're an addict, you must have had some psychological trauma in your past. I don't buy the reason he gives for his addiction in his book, that his mother was busy with her career and didn't have the time to give him the attention that he wanted. Some people are risk takers and like to try drugs and alcohol. I have the exact opposite type of personality and don't want to play with fire. I believe some people have more of a genetic predisposition to becoming an addict. They try something and it makes them feel good, so they use more and more until they can't function and their health is severely affected.

There probably are people who are chronically depressed or just feel uncomfortable in their own skin and they use drugs and alcohol to feel better. I know people with ADHD feel more normal when they take stimulants. I doubt any of these situations apply to Perry. I suppose it is possible that he was anxious about performing as an actor and a comedian and he turned to drugs and alcohol because they made him feel more confident. I don't buy that he became a severe addict because he had major psychological issues all his life or some childhood trauma.

by Anonymousreply 59February 13, 2023 2:11 PM

Consider his colon exploded and he has gone through multiple surgeries - how else do you expect him to look?

He wrote in his autobopgrapy that he closes his eyes when he takes a shower

and he also says if he had the choice between looking ugly and staying clean vs. looking hot and an addict

He'd rather be ugly and clean

by Anonymousreply 60February 13, 2023 2:19 PM

[Quote]This is what your average 50-something old looks like.

[Quote]I am 57. I look at least 20 years younger than this. My peers don’t look like this either.

I'm 58 and don't look like this either and nor do my peers and coworkers who are in their 50s, 60s and even 70s.

We may not look 20 years younger but we look a lot healthier, but this is not average looking for those in their 50s. This is what years of alcohol and pills looks like.

by Anonymousreply 61February 13, 2023 2:27 PM

R59 is addicted to being a know-it-all asshole.

by Anonymousreply 62February 13, 2023 2:28 PM

Sorry, R62. I just don't buy the philosophy that many therapists have (and the philosophy behind the TV show "Intervention") that if you're an addict, something bad must have happened to you in your past that caused you to use.

by Anonymousreply 63February 13, 2023 2:35 PM

He looks just like my landlord, who just turned 72 last November.

By the way, my landlord looks pretty damn good for being 72. Full head of thick hair, even if it’s all gray now.

by Anonymousreply 64February 13, 2023 2:52 PM

He doesn't look "good" but he doesn't look crazily bad to me. There are 53 year olds who look much better, but there are more than a few who look much worse. I'm actually surprised after reading everything he's been through that this is the end result. The hair is fine, IMO, though he's losing it and I don't think he'd look good bald. But that can be dealt with. He can get fitter if he wants. His face - of the perpetually fat baby face variety - seems made to sag and get jowly. Hopefully he doesn't ever try to fix that.

by Anonymousreply 65February 13, 2023 3:05 PM

The damage to him is done, so I’m not sure why every time he’s photographed it’s a story of how bad he looks. Unkept and unhealthy is what I see more than his age even. When I read he was engaged to a 20-something year old I was shocked (though I think it ended). I guess money really trumps everything else.

by Anonymousreply 66February 13, 2023 3:10 PM

He sounded like he has severe brain damage during the Friends reunion thing.

I can't see looks being a priority for him given what are obviously permanent health issues.

Many of the things he wrote in his book make it very hard to sympathize with him.

by Anonymousreply 67February 13, 2023 3:16 PM

R62 yes I was just about to say, who let the insufferable jackass in the thread

by Anonymousreply 68February 13, 2023 3:18 PM

R59 have you considered lending your wisdom to hospitals, addiction programmes etc i think those people could really learn from your thoughts

by Anonymousreply 69February 13, 2023 3:20 PM

Yes, R69. Perry's inattentive mommy caused him to become a severe opiate addict. It was inevitable.

by Anonymousreply 70February 13, 2023 3:36 PM

[quote] He wrote in his autobopgrapy that he closes his eyes when he takes a shower

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but why does he "close his eyes?"

There could be multiple reasons, so did he actually state one?

What was the context of this quote, in his book?

I'm very interested in what he meant by this.

by Anonymousreply 71February 13, 2023 4:07 PM

r59 you're an insufferable, sanctimonious prick and have contributed nothing of value to this conversation. I bet your shit smells like roses too, right? Is your snot pure, molten gold as well?

Hey, look! There's a few spots on your car's windshield, better go take care of that right now!!! There's absolutely no excuse for that. Chop, chop!

by Anonymousreply 72February 13, 2023 4:07 PM

R69, I'll bet there already are plenty of medical health professionals who don't believe there HAS to be some kind of psychological trauma that caused someone to become an addict.

R72, either you're a fool or a laughable troll.

by Anonymousreply 73February 13, 2023 4:11 PM

Isn't his mother a transvestite?

by Anonymousreply 74February 13, 2023 6:31 PM

R5 Is a proud Datalounge card holder. He checks all the boxes. God love him.

by Anonymousreply 75February 13, 2023 6:38 PM

Has Justin Trudeau commented on the sorry state of his possible half-brother?

by Anonymousreply 76February 13, 2023 6:51 PM

[quote] He wrote in his autobopgrapy that he closes his eyes when he takes a shower

That's to keep the other guy's pee from getting in his eyes. It burns!

by Anonymousreply 77February 13, 2023 10:22 PM

I assume it's because of the various surgery scars, R71, and because the years of substance abuse have taken a toll on his body, not just his face. I haven't read the book.

by Anonymousreply 78February 14, 2023 2:03 AM

His tits need a bra. He’s just FUG.

by Anonymousreply 79February 14, 2023 2:43 AM

He closes his eyes in the shower because he doesn't want to see the colostomy bag or the stuff that is dripping out of it because he says it busts all the time. Can you blame him?

by Anonymousreply 80February 14, 2023 12:29 PM

He's been dead to me for a long time.

It looks like he's finally about dead to himself.

by Anonymousreply 81February 14, 2023 12:32 PM

R80, OP's article says he wore a colostomy bag for nine months when his colon burst when he was 49. Supposedly he isn't wearing one now.

by Anonymousreply 82February 14, 2023 1:11 PM

R76 are they brothers? I thought Trudeau was fathered by Castro

by Anonymousreply 83February 14, 2023 8:30 PM

Sorry for being late to the party, but just why exactly did he have a colostomy? How does one anus just explode, as someone higher in the thread referenced.

by Anonymousreply 84February 14, 2023 9:55 PM

I think he looks fine for his age - check yourself Page Six

by Anonymousreply 85February 14, 2023 9:59 PM

R84 I had heard that it was caused by excessive use of Oxycodone, but not sure how it's connected to destroying the colon.

by Anonymousreply 86February 14, 2023 10:05 PM

R86, yes I heard it was drug-related but I don't know of any drug that would destroy your intestines or rectum. Weird.

by Anonymousreply 87February 14, 2023 10:07 PM

r84 i haven't read his book but i think the sum of it boils down to his addiction to opiods. It causes massive constipation and ensuing issues arising from that. That's probably a simplistic explanation; maybe someone else who has read the book can report?

by Anonymousreply 88February 14, 2023 10:08 PM

That's pretty much it as far as I know, r88.

by Anonymousreply 89February 14, 2023 10:10 PM

OK thanks, so it sounds like intestinal blockage and rupture. Ugh. Not a fan, but that's just horrible.
