The first 5 episodes dropped today. Joe is in London with the chick from Call the Midwife. Lukas Gage gets pissed on. This show has run out of steam. Final 5 episodes air March 9th.
You Season 4

Pissed on by a guy? Haven't seen a single episode, but I'd watch that. He was hot in White Lotus. Apparently, the Gossip Girl guy kills these women he meets? Sounds like another filler show young women watch while eating a pint of ice cream as their clits engorge at the thought of a violent death by the hand of their boyfriend. If the show was gayer & had more male nudity, I'd watch.

R1 DL already has a thread just for Lukas & the scene:

I keep hearing everyone say that Love was going to show up, and was expecting the 5th episode to be her entrance, but she didn’t and I can’t see it happening at this point. OP when you say “Final five” episodes are you saying final final, that this season is the series finale?

This show good?

It’s interesting that they dispatched the French connection and character so quickly, I wonder what that was all about, seems like some one made a huge misstep when planning out future seasons or they decided to go in a completely different direction after the fact. It felt very abrupt. It also feels a bit like they’re working on trying to find a redeeming element to the character.

R3 - final 5 of the season. It's not the series finale although I can't imagine this show going very much longer. It's obvious the writers have run out of ideas.

The trailer for "YOU part 2" has a brief glimpse of Love holding a book at timemark 22 sec. The fan speculation is that this is (1) a flashback, or (2) a Joe hallucination, or (3) she's really back in the present timeframe. To be determined in March.
The producers/showrunners must have realized how much viewers like me have missed Love (Victoria Pedretti). Now that Joe is on the screen all the time this season, his constant never-ending narration is again getting a bit irritating.

These first 5 episodes were watchable but a huge drop off from the previous seasons, especially 1 and 2. End it this season.

Wow, this dropped on Friday and only 8 replies?! Has DL given up on this?

I got through 2.5 episodes and stopped. I'm sure I'll finish some time before the other half of the season is released, but other than the first episode, I haven't really loved it. It feels like a chore.

Who is the ripped tan Brit with the piercing blue eyes?

This season is horrible. They should have just ended it on a high note last season.

The actor is Ben Wiggins, R11. The character is Roald.
This season is ridiculous. Joe gets thrown off the 3rd/4th floor, landing belly up, and nothing happened to him? Is he superman?

American television ALWAYS does this. They can never just let characters be.

I have only watched seasons 1 & 2, and then a tiny bit of season 3. I don't like Love. Maybe I am sexist because I can tolerate a horrible male character, but not a horrible female character. But I don't like Love and I don't like her family.
Joe is a horrible person. It seems that he CAN be trusted around children, but that's it.
I don't know how I'm going to make it through season 3 because I don't like Love at all.

The 1st season is a 10 The 2nd season is a 9 The 3rd season is an 8 The 4th season is a 5

Come on. Season 3 had the very entertaining Shari and Cary.
I miss The Cage.
I think Joe is imagining Alex. Joe is still the bad guy.

I gave it an 8. Excellent grade. It was still good but starting to get a bit tired, plot-wise.
Season 4 is dreadful.

The casting. All over the place. "Aristocratic" Phoebe speaks like a Hertfordshire gym instructor.

Started poorly I thought but finished BIG!!
Devastating finale . I hated Kate for the most part but love that she's turned into Ghislane essentially.
Poor poor Nadia.
Don't deface books Tom, it will end badly for you.

[SPOILER]
The idea of someone having a second personality based on someone they don’t meet until Season 4 is not only utterly illogical but in keeping with the show’s flippant attitude to mental illness.

The second half was much better than the first. The finale would work well as a series finale. The series has stretched the usual suspension of desbelief beyond every limit. Time to say goodbye to murderer Joe, who finally admits to himself wha he really is, and has found a partner and enabler to help him do the dirty work.
Ciao You, please don't come back.

Exactly how many books are in the series and has it “ended?”
by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 16, 2023 7:32 AM |
R25 the 4th book is out next month. After Season 2, the books and the show went in different directions
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 16, 2023 8:35 AM |
R26 In what way?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 16, 2023 8:40 AM |
I don't think Joe embraced his killer nature. Rather I think his killer nature killed Joe. Joe threw Rhys in the water and then jumped in himself to commit suicide. I think only Rhys came out.
They showed Nadia with a copy of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and that book ends when Jekyll realizes that the next time Hyde appears will be the last time Jekyll exists.
So in the next season, if there is one, will Joe make it back in time to get his comeuppance?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 16, 2023 12:57 PM |
I think there will be a Season 5 and that will be it. I can't imagine it going beyond that
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 16, 2023 1:00 PM |
That's an interesting theory, R28, especially considering that Joe's reflex in the glass window was the face of Rhys. But I disagree, I saw it as Joe embracing that part of himself and not fighting it anymore. Now he is Joe (wanting to do good things and change the world) and Rhys (cold blooded murderer). But yours is a good theory.

I hope that season five takes place primarily in the New York Art World and that’s the focus, not her running Daddy’s company. And good riddance to Greg Kinnear, he’s never been my cup of tea, but he especially seemed to be phoning in that performance for the pay check.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | March 17, 2023 8:50 AM |
Now with unlimited resources with which to cover his foul deeds, and an enabler (frankly nuts herself) by his side, Joe is going to be exponentially worse.
R31 I think it will. And being back in NYC, the show has come full circle.
