Blind Item- Ana de Armas slept her way to the Oscar nomination?

Usually I’m the subject of blind items about foreign born floozies.

Can someone spell it out why we think it's Ana de Armas? As a Marilyn fan I tried to ignore her and her exploitation flick.

She’s very good in it. The film is sometimes awful but she isn’t at all.

I’ve only seen her in one movie, Blade Runner 2049. She was fantastic in that. So I’m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.

She was terrible. She couldn’t lose the accent.

Well R5 I've only seen her in one movie too, Knives Out, and she was completely bland and charisma-free in it.

Somebody on this site (quite probably OP) seems to have an intense dislike of de Armas and I'm wondering what exactly is his axe he has to grind? It's not like she's overexposed or touted as the next greatest thing (like, say Timothy No-talentay).

Meh, I'm not sure that anyone needs an actual reason for disliking one celebrity or another, R16, nor do they need a disapproving - even hostile - inquiry about it.

As someone that doesn’t like her at all, her nomination is not that deep. Acting bodies always fall for hammy biopic performances and it’s not like she popped up at the Oscars out of nowhere, she made it in at earlier precursors as well.
