Twink Cop Resigns After Suspension For Saying "No such thing" As Gay Marriage
“God designed marriage,” Kersey wrote in the post that was flagged by his superiors following “an anonymous complaint,” according to a Jan. 13 letter of notification first reported by The Daily Signal and provided to Fox News Digital. “Marriage refers to Christ and the church. That’s why there’s no such thing as homosexual marriage.”
Kersey wasn’t fired after the investigation but said he decided to quit because he was told he could face termination for future social media posts that others find offensive. He said he has spoken with a law firm about possible legal action.

Jesus H. These people sound so fucking dumb when they make comments like that. Surely you are more special to be one of God's creatures that you know what he created and intended by such creations. Nevermind if others don't believe in his highness or view the world different. Your outlook and what you were taught instantly takes precedence and is ultimately correct. There is no way you maybe wrong. Because mommy took you to church.

Shouldn't be a cop. Isn't mature enough to realize that he has a responsibility to apply the law fairly and equally to all the public. Can't do that? Find another occupation.
Those cops that 'privately' support him should be questioned about social media posts decrying Blacks or Jews or Latinos or Baptists or Catholics any other protected class. Or, say, straight men.
Oh, and, that cop is not unfamiliar with other men's dicks. I don't generally subscribe to the idea that all homophobes are closet gays, but this guy is suspect. Maybe he's feeling awkward about those adolescent bro jobs.

This is a great example of a white person playing a victim. He wants to go on a war path because his job wants him to present himself as unbiased to avoid lawsuits against the police department based on discrimination and he said I QUIT!
And now he wants to sue.
And the question I have is how did he get the job in the first place with such obvious biased views? Imagine this bigot interacting with a gay couple during a domestic violence dispute or whatever.
The police force needs an overhaul. Mental stability and open minded views is what’s needed to be a cop. To give someone a gun to police every type of person in a neighborhood.
And then everyone wonders why black people don’t like cops. Well here you go white gays, these are your cops too.

I don't understand why people continue to do this to themselves. If you're the police, a doctor, a teacher, or anyone, why is there this need to upload some of your most inner-most thoughts up on the internet? Do these people do not have any friends and/or family who can sit around a kitchen table to discuss such matters? Prior to cell phones being a bodily attachment for many people I could understand falling into the social media trap. But now?
I'm a part of a fitness FaceBook group of where the organizer emphasized that he did NOT want politics, and anything related to be posted. Okay... I could work with that. However, since the inception of the group (about 6 months ago) I now know that the organizer is an anti-vaxxer, gun nut, dislikes Biden and therefore probably a Republican, and some other stuff. Well... so much of not posting anything political. It's as if these people can't help themselves. What happened to posting nothing that one would be ashamed of or can come back to haunt you?
I know that I have those who have gone to my personal social media page to analyze my friends, postings, etc. While I can't control any conclusions that they might reach there is nothing that I have to hide and/or be ashamed of. If they want to know of something then just simply ask me.

R17 A subset of your claim: cops and evangelical churches. My brother worked for a major city's police department: as a part of his career ladder he had to go to special prayer meetings of cops. He got promotions because he connected with this evangelical group that included almost all the department hierarchy.
And the evangelical twink is a cultural product, not religious. These Neo-Evangelicals, Pentecostals, prosperity gospel SUV church clunkers pick and choose about their God. The gospels are quite clear about divorce, but say nothing about same-sex attachments. Yet date will show large % of divorces, single moms/baby mommas. Convenient Christians... God spews you out of Her mouth.

R23 I have a friend from Northern Michigan whose sister had to wait years plotting her escape from her violent husband.
That’s why when people talk about white vs black crime - the problem is poor blacks live in the cities, poor whites live more in rural areas and there are more cops in cities than rural areas.
My friends sister couldn’t call the cops on her husband. If she lived in the city, she could and the cops would be there in 5 minutes. She lived in bumfuck Michigan, she’d be dead and buried by the time the cops show up. I think she said the police station was like an hour and a half away.
Which is also why I think rural women are more servile to men than city women.
And the other bitch is - the cops were friends with him, which I don’t think is uncommon either.
It’s a big boys club in white rural / evangelist / Bible Belt areas. Those white men can do whatever they want and the cops will look the other way until they get off work and join in.

This where the problem lies. He is failing to understanding basic civil marriage laws. His whole "Marriage refers to Christ and the church. That’s why there’s no such thing as homosexual marriage" spiel might end up biting him in the ass in different ways. The moron doesn't get that not all married straight couples are Christian or even believe in God or higher deities. I would love for this dumb fucker to explain how Jewish couples' marriages exist in his mind since he believes marriage refers to Christ and the church. Jews aren't Christians and they don't believe Christ was the messiah. I'm guessing he doesn't believe that Jewish couples' marriages exist. Also, the dumb fucker doesn't get that plenty of atheist or agnostic couples' marriages don't involve Christianity or any other religion. Evangelicals aren't really that religious. They are just white nationalists and rightwing bigoted control freaks who use religion for their gain. The fundamentalist Christian and Jewish cults are more like Muslims in the Middle East. Mormons and Hasidic Jews are the most Republican groups in The US. Evangelical churches range in views and doctrines due to being independently run. Catholics are in the middle of the road with fanatic Catholics being Republican based on opposing abortion. Most Muslims in America are educated middle-class immigrants so they lean more liberal than Evangelicals and Catholics.

Some of them are. But a large number of them are truly religious except that they have a very warped interpretation and sense of it. I like to think of those types as having done so much shit prior to their "finding God" and suffering from so much guilt, that they feel it is their duty to "save" everyone else even if it is by decree. I like to use Alveda King as an example. She was so hot and couldn't keep her panties on that she had numerous abortions. However, now that she has "truly found Jesus", she feels that it is her mission to save the unborn and take away the choice that her little fast behind had. IMHO, this has not much to do with "saving the unborn" as it has more to with her own guilt for being a slut and a slot.

Law enforcement describes the agencies and employees responsible for enforcing laws, maintaining public order, and managing public safety.
When you openly state animous which would directly impact one of your three primary responsibilities, it seems like that would disqualify you.
It's like being a doctor and believing in prayer, rather than modern medicine, to cure illnesses. Sure, it's your "right" to believe whatever you want, but when your beliefs directly oppose your primary responsibilities, it doesn't make for a good combination.

I don't understand why Christians apply Hebrew laws when the New Testament contradicts everything in the Torah. It shows they don't know their own religion. Christians eat pork and don't need to be circumcised. Worshipping Jesus is idolatry by Judaic standards. The Torah is clearly for Jews not Christians. Homophobia though was always an issue and religions just reinforced a lot of patriarchal heteronormative values. There is some evidence Rome may have had gay marriages in the elite since it was such a priority of Early Church to mention and ban such things. And there's a lot of debate on why the Ancient Jews even made explicit laws against homosexual acts and some scholars argue it was mainly political to distance Jews from their polytheistic neighbors who had forms of ritualized homosexuality either with pederasty, temple prostitutes or men raping male slaves. The concept of two adult men in a consensual relationship wasn't really a thing. All men had to marry women and procreate even in Greece and Rome. But again, hardcore Christians don't question, apply historical context or read between the lines. Some of the best Biblical scholars are atheists.

R94 are you equating the Torah with the Old Testament. They share similarities but Jesus is still more than a prophet, and the son of God. He just has a different name I think. But its still referring to Jesus.

R97 There's a lot of debate on this. Some say early Christians were binitarians and saw Jesus as son of God who was born to a mortal woman and achieved full God status after his death and resurrection. So they worshipped Yahweh the creator and Jesus the son. The Early Roman Church added the Holy Spirit later and Nicene Council made it official. The Eucharist may have roots in Mediterranean mystery cults to invoke dying-and-rising deities (who often were demigods like Orpheus, Dionysus and Heracles, etc) and reach divinity through a set of sacred rites. The belief of theosis (becoming one with God) is still a thing in Catholic, Anglican and Eastern Orthodox church.
The OT doesn't refer Jesus at all. Jesus is not a Messiah by Jewish definition. Jews believed the Messiah was a human being who was blessed by God to bring the Messianic Age where there'd be peace on Earth and the Temple be restored. When Jesus died, that didn't happen and Jews were still attacked and persecuted by Roman society. So naturally Jews didn't see Jesus as Messiah. Also Jews were monotheistic and worshipping their Messiah and equating him with God would be idolatry. Jews didn't worship Moses or David or Cyrus the Great.

R102, Bruh or sis, the old testament is not the Torah. I've already stated Jesus isn't referred to as Jesus in the Old Testament but he is in there under various names occurrences that are dead on similar to the character we know as Jesus in the New Testament.

Let's not do this R102. There really is nothing to debate. The New Testament supercedes the Old Testament and it says that there are only 2 commandments that we should concern ourselves with. The first one is have no other God over me and the second one is to love thy neighbor as you love yourself. That's it. However, it doesn't work for most because with just those 2 Commandments you can't dictate and control. You're not wrong in what you have written but the audience that needs to read what you wrote ain't in this room.

Christianity can survive if it is restored to it's roots as a proletariat movement to uplift the poor and marginalized and reduce class tensions. It really appealed to slaves, women, outcasts and probably gays because of it's emphasis on egalitarianism and caring for the disadvantaged and everyone being valid in God's eyes. Gnostics were persecuted because they were trying to continue the original tradition of teaching mankind to reach a divine status. When Rome made Christianity the state religion, it became a tool of oppression and the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church grew deeper and deeper, they restricted the rituals to their clergy, declared the Pope the authority on God and led attacks on anyone who questioned their official dogma.

Cut the bullshit r73. Americans are actually some of the highest wage earners on Earth, while maintaining a relatively low tax rate. Can every cop afford higher education? No, but there are already public servant tuition reimbursement programs. I'm sure any state that finally requires a college education and mental evaluation will extend that program to cops.
Eve without said program, cops, like teachers, can suck it the fuck up and make it work. Teachers get loads of extra training out of pocket. So if they can do it on $35k salary, then I don't wan to hear shit from cops.

R124, I get what where that poster is coming from. He may be part of the old school which thinks marriage is very heteronormative. r123 yet an American household will still have more creature comforts than their counterparts of an equal class in those "cheaper" countries. We as Americans have so much that we take it for granted and don't even realize that our version of hardship would be laughable to other people as they look at your homes and apartments with gorgeous TVs, computers, maybe a car or two, grocery stores with thousands of items, subsidized gas, and on and on.
In the American reality it's always bad cause we are stuck comparing life to the late 90s or 1950s. In the real world, we are still kicking ass and have more than enough. That includes most of our wages.

One would assume new officers would receive instruction in handing personal social media and cultural sensitivity. Heck, based upon their reality series, it appears the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders receive more instruction in being a community leader and the associated responsibilities than this municipal police force.

[quote]R125: Huh?
R119 said it poorly, but I get where he's coming from. Young Kersey is citing Ephesians 5:31-32:
"“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, but I am speaking about Christ and the church."
The trouble with that is that it is postulating that the church - the body of believers, a lot of whom also happen to be male - are married to Christ. So, there's already something resembling same-sex marriage in the offing - a consummation is anticipated in heaven, and males are ostensibly going to be bedded by the Lord.
Oh, but wait - Galatians 3:28 says, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, 𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑒 𝑛𝑜𝑟 𝑓𝑒𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑒, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." But rather than making the whole 'marriage supper of the Lamb' and male participation in its consummation allegorical, the passage also makes distinctions regarding whom one can or cannot marry here meaningless. Kersey has not really thought it all through.
Mixed-up, deluded boy.
