This is beyond cringe-inducing.

First of all, FUCK Tom brady.

Second, who in their right mind thinks everybody likes that cheating asshole?

Thirdly, nobody likes the patriots except for assholes in Boston.

Fourthly, these actresses clearly did it for the money, which diminishes them in my mind.

I saw it today. Was it Casablanca? No but it took me out of my troubles for a few hours on a Saturday afternoon. It’s not going to change the world. The script was fine and the four of them have great chemistry. I laughed and that’s all that mattered.

Saw it today. My in-laws (who are in their 80s) wanted us to take them. It was just fine for what it was…a little fun afternoon flick. It was actually much better than I thought. I don’t think anyone was going in expecting Citizen Kane. Everyone in the audience other than my husband and I were 65+. Lots of laughter. I could have happily lived without ever seeing it, but it was a fun day. All the little senior citizens at the showing were having a good time, which was sweet. Hell, my husband and I are in our 50s, so I guess we are senior citizens, too. The in-laws enjoyed it; dubbed it “cute.”

I kept thinking of The Datalounge when Tom Brady was on the screen and all the delightfully bitchy things written about him here!

As for the actresses, Sally, naturally, came off the best, but they all were fine. I was surprised to see Sally Kirkland! Ultimately, don’t rush out to see it, but catch it when it starts streaming,,maybe on a rainy afternoon.

This was the type of movie that was guaranteed to at least make back its money. The biggest expense was the 4 leads salaries and compared to top Hollywood stars, they gave them only a small %. At this stage, the ladies were just happy to get out of the house to work a few days and the free lunches. There's just enough combined "star power" here to cover the very modest movie budget.

The first half-season of GLEE (first 13 episodes) is some great TV and storytelling. If it was released as a 13-episode limited series, it would be hailed as a masterpiece. It was a rollercoaster half-season with a beginning, middle, and end. Lea Michele's character was very Tracy Flick-esque and delicious. She truly earned her Emmy nomination that year. People were not yet breaking out into musical fantasy sequences, and the music was not overwhelming every scene. It was simply a quirky dramedy series with occasional musical performances instead of what it became in the second half of Season 1 -- a jukebox musical of AutoTuned covers of latest pop hits.

What happened was Season 1 went on hiatus for the winter break and the soundtrack to the first half of Season 1 was released just before Christmas 1999 and became an enormous bestseller, peaking at #4 in the US and Canada, #3 in Australia, and #1 in the UK an Ireland. So when the show returned in April 2000, they put more focus on the music over anything else, because the goal now was to sell music, more than anything.

It's amazing how a show can change so much in just a few months.

Just watched this movie - rates as one of the worst films I have ever seen in my life. It could have been better with the right cast - like drop Sally Field and Rita Moreno, and just add Dolly Parton for a '9 to 5' reunion. Get better writers, someone with comedy skills, and they could've had a fun movie with this concept. As it is now - don't bother.

Didn’t this movie make $35M at most? It barely broke even since they spent so much to promote it.

It cost $28M, has been in theaters for four weeks, and it has grossed $38M. So it's made a $10M profit so far - which means there is also room for 'part 2'. Let's hope not.

The studio only collects 50% of the gross.

This was a 90 minute commercial for the NFL that they got some idiots to pay to watch.

It wasn't about making a big profit so that they can make more movies. The money came from the NFL budget to help keep fraus to let their children play football.

I watched the first half of the interview in which all they did was talk about the movie - the 1980 movie "9 to 5" that is. Nothing was mentioned about '80 for Brady'. Tomlin looked awful and did the least amount of talking - Fonda overtook the conversation.

I was expecting this to be Trog level, but it was actually enjoyable. It was only mildly woke. It has a simple story with a conflict and resolution. The kind of movie they use to make, it was funny too.

I lost about 30 IQ points watching this mess.

I watched this last night on Paramount+ and it wasn't bad as I expected. I actually liked Rita Moreno in the movie.

It looks so cheap. Is it film or video?

I have thoughts

1) what happened to Lily Tomlin? It’s like her mouth doesn’t work and she talks strange. Also her face looks like her jaw has weights in them.

2) Poor Sally Field. You can tell she was embarrassed by this and she should have been.

3) Rita came off okay and gave heft to the dramatic scenes (if u can call them that) but I don’t think she was a good fit as she was clearly 90 and acted much older than the rest.

4) It’s amazing to me that Jane Fonda of Klute, Coming Home, and Julia became Jane Fonda of 80 for Brady.

When Jane Fonda returned to showbiz in 2005, I was surprised that she would choose "Monster-in-Law" as her comeback vehicle. Since then, she really hasn't tackled any roles demonstrative of her talent. But then again, good roles for 70+ women are few and far between. Yet still, "80 for Brady" is the best she can do?

Jane's best work this century has been in foreign films: All Together, and Youth. She's also done well in Moving On, Our Souls at Night, and This Is Where I Leave You.

Jane's Best Role, too was Red Carpet Star, even, if not mostly, in her last appearances at the Academy Awards or the Emmys.

When she appeared on a Red Carpet, you knew a Staaah had arrived.

I'll always be a fan of hers for that.
