So many to choose from.
Who will be given the honor of last mentioned in this year's Oscars' In Memoriam?

it will absolutely be Sidney Poitier, even though Angela Lansbury has more meaning to Dataloungers.
His AA win was so groundbreaking.

Nicholson.
According to a blind item posted on here he's days away.

I always remember the end of "Feud," where Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) and Joan Blondell (Kathy Bates) wait backstage in 1977 for the "In Memoriam" segment of the Awards to see where Joan Crawford will be--and she's second to last, behind Bing Crosby, who was actually a bigger star, even though he had never been mentioned in the series until that moment.
Stardom was so important to Joan and Bette, and yet for all their machinations they were never as important to Hollywood as Bing, who made much more money for the industry.

It won’t be Sidney Poitier, because he was in last year’s In Memoriam. He died in early January and was included.
Poitier didn’t get the last slot, although his tribute was the first and by far the longest. The last person mentioned was Charles Grodin.

They should flash a still of Irene baring her breasts in "Fame" when her name appears.

Commander Kirstie Alley.
After all, she obviously was my "Number Two."

Sidney.
Because he's....

Poitier was in year last year's ceremony. It will be the Queen of England.

Actually it will likely be Barbara Walters.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 28, 2023 7:57 PM |
Why would it be Walters? She was a journalist, and interviewing celebrities isn’t enough to merit inclusion.
Joan Rivers was left out, and she actually had a career as an actress.

Who will be left out?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 28, 2023 8:24 PM |
Anne Heche
Carole Cook and Sylvia Syms will be left out.

Anne He he.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 28, 2023 8:52 PM |
Huh. Today I learned that the In Memoriam isn't alphabetical, like I assumed it would be.

Kirstie Alley reminds me of my number 2.
