Moderator Neil deGrasse Tyson, director of the museum’s Hayden Planetarium, put the odds at 50-50 that our entire existence is a program on someone else’s hard drive. “I think the likelihood may be very high,” he said.
I'm pretty convinced that we're living in a computer simulation.

I am pretty convinced I am living in hell.

I would have panic attacks about this shit

I have thought this for years...

It’s possible. Who gives a fuck? We don’t know any better, nor does NDG.
Also, it insinuates some sort of “other” thing controlling us, specifically, an AI or a being we are not aware of.
IDGAF either way. Rent’s due on the 1st of every month, or a mortgage payment is due once a month, and/or property taxes are due regularly.
This much, I know.

r4 Yes, in America, all you really have to do is die and pay taxes; everything else is pretty much optional.

We know who this gassy and ambitious egomaniacal blowhard is, thank you, OP.

R7, you do realize the OP is quoting the article which he linked?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 26, 2023 2:12 AM |
R8, thank you for your supercilious comment. Yes. The quote was why I posted, and if you don't understand why we will suppose it is for the usual reason here at the DL.
Do people light matches on that head of yours?

If so, I'm one of the worst characters ever with absolutely no powers. I'm like your cut-rate character that you get at the beginning of the game.

If it were a computer simulation it wouldn't be so slow and boring.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 26, 2023 3:17 AM |
Don't they say the 50/50 thing because they can't disprove or prove it vs them really believing there's a 50% chance we are? Couldn't one argue there's an equal chance we're experiencing shared mass hallucinations that hide our true reality?
I personally don't think we're in a simulation, but I don't have a better theory to explain our existence... So to each their own.

Would the computer running the simulation please make r7/r9 about 90% less cunty and hateful?
TIA!

Can’t I have a bigger dick then?

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

My brother is convinced the Matrix was a documentary.

No. Solely because of the thousands of dollars I've spent on therapy.

Thus explaining why Keanu Reeves lives on!

Can I speak to the programmer? I have a few things I'd like to discuss.

I'm sick and fucking tired of cranks like r19 turning every thread into trans.
