Who do you think that Biden would nominate?
If Chief Justice Roberts accepts that his court is corrupt and resigns to rebalance,
by Anonymous | reply 56 | January 27, 2023 8:02 PM |
Well, that's not gonna happen OP. Did you fall down and hit your head on the ground?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 23, 2023 9:28 PM |
Pffft!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 23, 2023 9:35 PM |
Hillary
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 23, 2023 9:37 PM |
If Roberts were a true centrist, he realizes that the Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett nominations were corrupt political appointments and that Alito and Thomas have evolved into unconstitutional Catholic Dogmatists. His resignation would be a big fuck you to the Trumpublicans who have turned him into a dancing chimp.

If I had 10 tits I’d be a sow
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 23, 2023 9:40 PM |
Alito and Thomas are not spring chickens. If Biden wins another term then I think there is a fairly good chance of getting to 4-5 or even 5-4.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 23, 2023 9:50 PM |
Thomas will live to be 105. Just our luck.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 23, 2023 10:16 PM |
Kavanaugh is only 57 but he's a raging alcoholic. Tick tock on the liver. We can hope.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 23, 2023 10:18 PM |
Pete is my top choice.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 23, 2023 10:45 PM |
A black lesbian who identifies as Chinese
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 23, 2023 10:47 PM |
r11, that is a three fer. My three fer would be a Barbara Jordan type, a disabled Black Lesbian.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 23, 2023 11:10 PM |
Melissa Murray who was on Biden's shortlist last time (but now she's seen on MSNBC, does that kill her objectivity?).
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 23, 2023 11:13 PM |
In this extremely hypothetical fantasy scenario: I'd promote Ketanji Brown Jackson to Chief Justice, since she's not only the most qualified compared to the other eight justices, she's also a strong and dignified black woman which brings the added benefit of racist heads exploding all over Deplorable-land. To backfill for KBJ's seat? Another black woman. I'm sure Biden has plenty of other qualified candidates on the short list from which KBJ was nominated.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 23, 2023 11:17 PM |
I love that r14!!!
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 23, 2023 11:23 PM |
Nice fantasy, OP
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 23, 2023 11:24 PM |
r14, even though she would have to be reconfirmed as Chief Justice, we have the votes in the Senate now.
Then Melissa Murray to fill KBJ's vacancy.
Delicious.

“We have to make this a bipartisan effort…” *Gets runover by GOP caravan, Kamala laughs in the distance*
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 24, 2023 12:05 AM |
Well, we know that GOP caravans, like antifa, are imaginary.
What's yer point?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 24, 2023 12:26 AM |
Four words: Chief Justice Ann Romano.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 24, 2023 12:35 AM |
I agree with R14’s suggestion. Though I think it is highly unlikely that Roberts would step down. We have a better chance of the 74-year-old Thomas or the 72-year-old Alito croaking. Or possibly the alcoholic Kavanaugh.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 24, 2023 12:36 AM |
Did anyone think that Justice Kennedy would be blackmailed to leave a vacancy for Kavanaugh to fill?
Anything is possible.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 24, 2023 1:17 AM |
Yes r22, it looked very plausible when it happened. I also think this is a troll thread, but you are all so joyful that I’ll just shut up about it.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 24, 2023 1:24 AM |
No, not a troll thread. I was just sitting around thinking what could happen to Democrats to change the balance of the appointments of Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett that happened as quickly as them. It's not a fantasy as much as an intellectual exercise.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 24, 2023 1:34 AM |
With our luck, Kavanaugh will be one of those drunks who somehow lives to be ancient. They drink like fish yet inexplicably get to their 80s or in some cases 90s. We've all known a few.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 24, 2023 1:43 AM |
Well I do have my JD and was the foreman on the OJ trial.

DL SC:
Chief Justice Bonnie Franklin
Justice Linda Lavin
Justice Esther Rolle
Justice Mike Branson
Justice Jessica Lange
Justice Julian Morris
Justice Matt Duckling Bomer
Justice Shitty Anne
Justice M. Louise Ciccone

Bravo R27! But what about Justice D. Parton?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 24, 2023 2:12 AM |
Judge Patsy Ramsey, formerly of Boulder County Juvenile Prosecution Division.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 24, 2023 2:14 AM |
No R29.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 24, 2023 2:20 AM |
R22 - Whatchu talkin' about Willis ? I never heard this theory before. Any links ?
Kavanuagh may be an alcoholic, but I believe he's pickled at this point - he'll live to see his bicentennial birthday.
If Roberts steps down, I'd want Judge Judy to take his place. If she refuses, put in Sunny Hostin !
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 24, 2023 2:24 AM |
How about Santos so he can at least have one legit resume builder. I don’t think there is a Constitutional requirement that a Justice be a lawyer.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 24, 2023 2:26 AM |
Santos was already a Supreme Court Justice R32. Time for someone else to get a chance.
I like the Judge Judy suggesting immensely.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 24, 2023 2:32 AM |
R31, you mean you have forgotten that Justice Kennedy's son was a Trump banker for Deutsche Bank?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 24, 2023 3:01 AM |
Never gonna happen.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 24, 2023 1:13 PM |
Presidente del Tribunal Supremo Rojo Caliente.

Yes, but eventually he'll make some drunk mistake, like hit-and-run, or losing a confidential briefcase in the mistresses' bedroom etc. You know some stupid stuff out of left field. I actually had not heard that he is an alcoholic. Is that true, or just an assumption based on his missteps in his grad school years?
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 24, 2023 1:59 PM |
Biden should nominate Kamala Harris. A graceful way to get her out of the executive branch. And she'd be a good supreme court justice; she knows law and litigation. She'll do fine there.

Bigoted talking points from the Reagan Era! Never let it be said that DL doesn't have its finger on the pulse of the zeitgeist!

[quote] To backfill for KBJ's seat? Another black woman.
What, no available Asian nominees? After Thomas was able to withstand COVID, I've given up any hope of him dropping dead in the near future. But one can always hope.
But back to Roberts; he's proved to be another Trump in that he'll go to the grave whining about how unfairly he's been treated, how people don't respect authority, blah, blah, blah when history will remember him as actively working to dismantle democracy
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 24, 2023 4:16 PM |
R39, shut yer cunt. We were discussing how many boxes a Biden candidate could tick. Not bigoted.
I don't know about the Asian and Native American possibilities.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 24, 2023 8:50 PM |
R38, I now think that Harris would be a great CHIEF Justice. The court needs a manager and being California Attorney General certainly makes her capable.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 24, 2023 8:53 PM |
I’m good with putting Kamala on the Supreme Court.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 25, 2023 1:34 AM |
Is she a judge R43?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 25, 2023 1:45 AM |
Was Warren Berger?
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 25, 2023 1:53 AM |
Fucked if I know R45. Don't you have to be a judge?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 25, 2023 1:55 AM |
Ask Earl Warren.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 25, 2023 2:04 AM |
How about Obama?
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 25, 2023 2:13 AM |
I think Obama is all about protecting his legacy, not having another 24/7 job.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | January 25, 2023 2:26 AM |
[quote] Is she a judge R43?
She doesn’t need to be, R44. The practice of elevating only sitting federal appellate judges to the Supreme Court is a relatively recent phenomenon. Justice William O. Douglas was chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Chief Justice Warren was the Governor of California. Justice Brandeis served as President Wilson's chief economic adviser from 1912 until 1916 when he was appointed to the Court. Justice Tom Clark was President Truman’s Attorney General.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | January 25, 2023 3:16 AM |
The clarification is greatly appreciated, r50. Thank you.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 25, 2023 3:52 AM |
A Chief Justice Harris would be a very good thing.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | January 27, 2023 2:21 AM |
^I would love a Chief Justice Harris if no other reason that MAGA heads will be exploding right & left, but - even if we're following our fantasy about Roberts somehow growing a conscious or dying young - I wonder how popular she is in the dem establishment. It seems like there are easier ways to offload her rather than give a lifetime appointment in which they *can't* get rid of her
by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 27, 2023 2:06 PM |
[quote]If Chief Justice Roberts accepts that his court is corrupt and resigns to rebalance,
You really started a whole thread to discuss something that no one is predicting and has zero chance of happening? You might as well speculate about Clarence Thomas waking up tomorrow and declaring himself a Communist. It's never happening. Santa Claus being real is far more likely.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 27, 2023 5:30 PM |
Oh boy! Let's talk about stupid shit!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 55 | January 27, 2023 5:42 PM |
R54, How about I start a thread, What happens if Justice Kennedy is Blackmailed into retirement by Trump because his son is a major money launderer for Trump? Who would have bought Kavanaugh's baseball cards and debt? Who would have posted to that thread?
This is an intellectual game, positing a rare instance.
Kind of like Fuck, Marry Kill.
But if you don't want to play, don't post. You Feeb Cunt.
