What is animating these people and their obsessions with sex, gender, and everything in between? It's mostly projection, right? Why are they picking (and fining and jailing) people who go into certain fields wanting to be of service? The American Library Association will most likely come out with some pablum about "rights" and "intellectual freedom." Screw that -- it's time for librarians to stage a national strike. Wait until Aunt Martha can't get her latest mystery or your deadbeat brother can't borrow TV shows to watch in the basement you're letting him live in.
People have been obsessed with sex and everything related to it since the dawn of time, I don't regard this outrage-du-jour as apocalyptic in any way.

OP, trying to censor library books has been a perennial favorite with right wingers looking to score easy points pretty much since the first free libraries in the US started (there’s even a song on the subject in “The Music Man”) and all well-run libraries have a written policy for dealing with it.
