Moving ceremony, was touched by the speeches and performances, especially Jerry Schilling who's been so loyal to the family his entire adult life. Axl's voice was shot but his words were heartfelt.

This kind of ceremony was appropriate for Memphis, and a southern-style memorial service for a local celebrity. It wouldn't have the glitz and smoothness of a similar service in Los Angeles.

She's never done anything useful, she's never been successful in any way other than in blowing her massive inheritance by the time she was middle-aged. As sad as it is today, LMP’s death may be the best thing that could have happened to her twin daughters. Aside from her issues with substance abuse, which the court did not believe she was recovered from, she was a disastrous parent. There were guns in the house, as evidenced by her son’s suicide with one of her guns. Both girls were behind their grade in school, were frequently late or absent to school and one was suffering from an undiagnosed learning disability. LMP wanted to pull the girls out of their current school for no particular reason, the ex-husband was in favor of leaving the girls in the same school for stability. LMP made four separate child abuse allegations against her ex-husband and the court saw these as unsubstantiated. The repeated allegations without proof was considered a classic Scientology ploy to destroy the opponent by any means possible. Lies and chaos would slow down the custody battle. It seems the court came close to charging her with making false accusations and trying to coach the girls to say they had been abused. What a mess.

Overall, I think Priscilla is a smart woman, but I still do not know what she was doing sticking Lisa in that damn cult.

Spending USD$40M in four years with nothing to show for it has to be some kind of record, though. It's not like the Tesla guy where the value of his holdings dramatically plunged.
