Jamie Lee Curtis called out for creepy child art in Insta photo
Jamie Lee Curtis is being slammed on Twitter after sharing a photo of her office that’s been decorated with a picture of a seemingly nude child in a box.
The 64-year-old “Halloween” star — who contracted COVID-19 after attending the Golden Globes — posted the photo on Instagram (now deleted) and Facebook, which focused on the “beautiful Pollack chairs” in the center of the image.
Curtis issued an apology on Thursday afternoon, offering a bit more context to the artwork.
“Last week, I posted a picture of some chairs that included a photograph on the wall by an artist that was gifted to me 20 years ago. I understand it has disturbed some people. As I have said, I am a truth teller so here’s the truth,” wrote the actress. “It’s a picture of a child, taken by her mother, of her playing in their backyard in a tub of water. Nothing more, nothing less.”
“I took down the post because I didn’t want to keep something up that upset anyone,” continued Curtis.

She needs a professional interior decorator. That room is cold and ugly - just like she is.

Oh for fuck's sake. Slam it because it's hideous, but it's not child pron. Those Twitter prudes need to untwist their panties and grow the fuck up.

If it truly was just a child playing in a backyard tun there isn't a thing wrong with that. But even Hollywood legend Jamie aka The Right Honourable the Lady Haden-Guest must cower from the woke Cancellation lynch mobs.

America has always been a land of prudes. Social media in their hands is today's equivalent of the Salem witch hunts or the Inquisition.

Child in a box is an obvious metaphor. I'm uneducated and miss subtleties but I understand what the meaning of the image is.

It was actually a photo of a naked child playing in a backyard tub, per Jamie.

The photo is from the “Sweet is the Swamp” series by Betsy Schneider, and the kid is not really playing in a pool, but rather is crammed into a rubbermaid tub in a fetal position. Schneider’s work is ugly and creepy, not in a goth way, but in an upper-middle-class-Frau-with-poor-boundaries type of way.

R22- Agreed. I was not familiar with the artist, but those are ordinary family snapshots that somehow got paid publicity.
They're the kind of photos that are sweet and funny when kept in a private album, and just plain weird when displayed publicly and sold. Especially the clearly posed ones.

JFC.
She’s not an Epstein acolyte.
That said, she could have done so much more with that room. The chairs stay. Almost everything else had to go.
Also, who the fuck has decided to wage war against JLC, as of late? Are one of her kids pissed off at her, or does the husband have a mistress?
WTFIGOH?

She has praised her mentor Alok Vaid-Menon to the skies, even after being warned repeatedly about him and shown evidence that he called little girls "kinky" and implied that they brought abuse on themselves. Now this. No, I don't think she's any kind of perv or predator, but this is just such a DUMB thing to do. I used to think of her as very intelligent and sensible, but no more.

Yes — it’s from her “Precious Victims” series. In addition to “Child in Backyard Tub” there’s “Child Sleeping in a Vacant Lot,” Child Swinging from a Tree Branch,” and “Child Playing Hide-And Seek” (in a 10 gallon drum of wet cement).
