Crap--I drink this all the time.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 19, 2023 3:51 PM |
Good thing I never drink Simply. It’s very rare.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 19, 2023 3:54 PM |
I drink Tropicana. I wonder what their numbers are? Is this because of the pesticides sprayed on the oranges in the orange grove? If so, Simply Orange won't be the only one.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 19, 2023 3:55 PM |
But it's all natural!!! Not like those evil GMOs!!!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 19, 2023 3:57 PM |
Tropicana has been tested many times over the years and it’s #1 for many good reasons.
Their issue is they add sugar.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 19, 2023 3:57 PM |
I doubt it's yet been tested for these forever chemicals
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 19, 2023 4:00 PM |
Anyone who drink processed/manufactured juice is an idiot. It is all sugar and calories.

Ah jeez, I got some of this stuff as a substitute when I tried to order pineapple-orange juice. Guess I should toss it.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 19, 2023 4:06 PM |
R6 you doubt Tropicana has ever been tested for this? Lmao.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 19, 2023 4:07 PM |
This is why most of DL still drinks Five Alive!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 19, 2023 4:10 PM |
R12, I doubt Tropicana is somehow free of these chemicals

PFAS generally comes from the packaging material or the irrigation water. Many food companies don’t care . When I was in undergrad i mentioned casually to a professor that I supported organic farming, and he walked up to me, put his face about an inch from mine, and said angrily”the most disgusting form of agriculture, huh?”
Another example,I was in a veterinary conference last week and the dude sitting behind me, during the lecture given by Temple Grandin, continually whined and bitched every time she said the word organic. I wanted to tell him to shut up , he was a whiny beyotch! It’s a subculture i guess. I once had a neighbor that I found out went to federal prison with his brother for adulteration of food supplies not pfas, but simply adding ingredients not on the label and selling it to thousands of restaurants.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 19, 2023 4:32 PM |
USDA is tightening the rules to be labeled organic.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 19, 2023 5:12 PM |
Simply Poison.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 19, 2023 5:16 PM |
Yikes!
Does anybody know where Costco gets their OJ from?
Is it Tropicana or the Simply people??
The Kirkland brand OJ is truly delicious.

Can I have your stuff?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 19, 2023 5:24 PM |
Store juice in glass bottles and you won't have this problem!
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 19, 2023 5:35 PM |
Are these charges limited to "Simply Orange" only, or to the entire "Simply" brand, e.g. I drink their "Simply Lime" beverage.

Mother said, "Don't drink calories."

Every grocery store where I live has a fresh juice machine with fresh oranges, local in season and labelled as to origin when not. The machines are carefully maintained and popular. The only packaged orange juice a grocery might sell is a single serving size, which are not popular.
Fresh orange juice is delicious though I have it a couple times a week in season and on an infrequent whim when not. I'm spoiled and won't buy it unless I know it's fresh. The pre-packaged stuff, never again.

I'm sure it's the entire brand

Coca Cola is so scummy

I remember my dad always getting us fresh squeezed orange juice as kids. I'm not sure where he got it but it's the kind you'd essentially have to "chew' because of all the pulp. It was sooooooo good and I can't find it anywhere these days. There's a restaurant near me that has fresh-squeezed OJ for about $6 for 8 ounces. I'd make it myself but oranges are so expensive now (and have been for a while). All those bottled orange juice products burn my stomach something awful.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 19, 2023 6:42 PM |
R28, you have to make it
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 19, 2023 6:43 PM |
How is the Costco orange juice packaged?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 19, 2023 6:53 PM |
In 59 fl oz plastic bottles, R30.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 19, 2023 6:55 PM |
They look a lot like the Tropicana bottles, honestly.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 19, 2023 6:56 PM |
It's the plastic bottles, pesticides used to grow the oranges, and preservatives
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 19, 2023 6:57 PM |
Supposedly, a bottle of Tropicana has at least 16 crushed insects per bottle. (Pepsi)
So what to drink? Lime water, herbal tea. and flitered water. Not in bottles.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 19, 2023 7:25 PM |
If I mix it with vodka will the alcohol kill the PFAS?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 19, 2023 7:32 PM |
Liquids sold in cardboard cartons or Tetra Paks are BPA-free.
Products with a 1, 2, or 5 on the label are BPA-free.
The substance is mostly used in canned foods, ranging from vegetables and soups to canned sodas and energy drinks. If it's in metal, it likely has a BPA coating.

All packaged food you consume has crushed insects in it.

Cyanide is natural arsenic is natural and lead is natural. These “Forever Chemicals” are not natural they are compounds created by humans. They fuck with immune system make you dick limp and mess with the bodies messaging system. Animals bodies too are damaged especially amphibians. The industries that produce them know what they are doing and fight regulation tooth and nail. They are banned in the E U but the states still allows them here. So primitive and reckless, but profits. Congress is lobbied to not crack down on them. It’s the usual suspects.

Yep:
"Something as simple as drinking tap water is exposing millions of Illinoisans to toxic chemicals that build up in human blood, cause cancer and other diseases and take years to leave the body."
