Readers, REJOICE! Barnes & Noble has a lot of hard cover books on sale for 50% off

I’ve been on the app shopping, as well as considering renewing my B&N Membership. I had it pre-pandemic but never renewed after.

This time of year they often do. I love to catch their book sales.

I wish I liked Hardcovers. I actually hate them. I’m the minority in that I prefer paperback

I have a personal ranking system. If I deem a book as "important" or special I will get the hard cover. Otherwise I go Trade Paperbacks or paperbacks.

R3 yeah, like certain books I will buy hardcover, but I still prefer paperback overall.

Harry’s book is one that must be bought in hardcover.

The B & N here in CC Philly will be moving their place(not far, maybe a block or two) and are having a big sale. I guess they really don't want to move all their stock to the new site.

I've got so many books I want/need to get rid of that I dare not pop in to see what's available. Anybody need 20 or so books on religion? I've got a hundred plus gardening books, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society will no longer take any.

Will we have brick and mortar bookstores in 20 years? or 50? Or even dare I say it, libraries?

Yes r5. Streaming hasn’t taken over books like it has music and movies and television.

While the majority of music is streamed now and the majority of movies and tv is streamed now, only around 20-25% of books are bought as ebooks. People seem to prefer to have physical books.

I didn’t know B&N still sold the Nook. I remember it was popular for a brief moment when it first came out but the Amazon Kindle quickly became most ebook readers go-to.

I see they only have one type now though and don’t sell the colored screen versions or anything anymore.

[quote]and don’t sell the colored screen versions

Now I’ve got my eye on you!
