They're a pain to train (shave, trim, cut, styling product, shave, rinse, repeat)... and the trade off, often, for soft thick locks is your skin needs an entire regiment too because it's pulling too much oil from your face.. which then spreads up the hairs to dry them out too while the ends end up just feeling greasy rather than just soft. Not enough to use as lube but enough to want a wetnap if your run your hands through it and don't snag on inevitably tangle. . . which you could try detangle, which is the near the equivalent of dealing with unruly hairs on your balls or restart the training process over again.
