No one gives a shit.

She was never a great beauty but she sounds like she was a wonderful person.

She was a fine actress and a decent person. What's so "poor" about her, OP?

R3- Aww that she was not conventionally attractive. She was more fabulous in The Wizard Of Oz as Miss Gulch than as the Wicked Witch Of The West.

It is only available on Turner Classics.
It looks like a Middle Class version of The Women.
I'd watch it if I could find it elsewhere.

Looks aren't everything, OP/r4. Hamilton certainly came to terms with it. She managed to have a long and successful career. She created an iconic character instantly recognizable around the world.
The link below is an interview with her son. He concludes it with the words:
"She died a very, very happy person."

She was a later in life lesbian

"No one gives a shit"
Oh, dear. Was this filmed before you were born, Braedin?

There was a need for actresses like Margaret Hamilton and Dame Flora Robson to play character parts and everyday people.

What R6 said. She worked steadily as a character actress for over 50 years in film and tv, and other than a divorce had a drama free life.

Yeah, her looks were “severe,” but she also landed the role of a lifetime in a movie that is considered by some to be the most influential film ever made. What other movie — eight decades later — is referenced as often in the media and popular culture? She played the Wicked Witch of the West in a way that no one else could have. And 84 years later, her character is one of the most recognizable in the entire catalog of films. She also seemed to be a lovely person.
That’s a damn decent legacy.

She had a great career doing what she loved, great family relationships and is remembered for an absolute knockout performance in one of the absolute iconic movies.
Poor her indeed. We should all be so lucky.

Dude looks like a lady.

I'd never seen this outtake before, from Gunsmoke. She kinda stumbled over the phrase "released that freckle-faced disaster on society", but soldiered through it.
...until she decided to deliberately blow her exit line, with perfect timing, catching the entire cast off-guard.
