I’m wondering whether there are behind the scenes contract issues with Kaleb and the former talent as the clueless production values begin dipping into unintentional nods to Tod Browning spectacles of olde. The football player delivers the ‘adorable blanket’ line so straight, I begin to wonder if “he’s” a little lesbian!
Shriners for Children butches it up with a new little wannabe football player spokeskid

Shriners and St Jude’s have just become grifts.
I was in Florida for a vacation and every other fucking commercial was from one of them.
They have massive endowments and don’t need the money

I love these threads about the Shriners because the OP assumes that 1) the rest of us watch commercial tv as much as they do 2) follow the travails of commercial personalities so closely that they don't have to post a link to explain what they are yammering on about.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 13, 2023 2:17 AM |
This thread has that old people smell.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 13, 2023 2:25 AM |
Shriners.

I'm not the OP, but I freely and proudly admit that I watch those Vaginal Mesh/Shriner's Kids TV Channels. I love those old shows.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 13, 2023 2:26 AM |
I actually tried to find who OP is talking about, but there are so many Shriners/football commercials it's impossible to know.

I love the DL Shriners threads! I thought something was missing around Christmastime

Donate $10,000 to St. Jude's and you can shit on my glass coffee table while I watch in "amusement"...
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 13, 2023 6:24 PM |
I didn't see any new commercials this season. I mainly saw the old standards they've been rerunning each year.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 13, 2023 6:28 PM |
R8 you’re just shit out of luck.

And you too, r10.

Someone should publicize how much money they spend on this advertising.

What does this mean? We're talking about a commercial, right? Not that anything in OP's actual post describes that.
Why the fuck would you start a thread like this and not post a link?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 13, 2023 6:59 PM |
If you need to ask, r23, you'll never know.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 13, 2023 7:00 PM |
Fuck those Shriner kids. A guy I was dating told me I'm awful for making fun of kids with special needs. We're no longer dating.

Mary!!!!! r25

I'm so tired of Shriner's and St Jude's exploiting these children and their handicaps. It's disgusting. Same thing with the malnourished children who need money for food and medication. Rather than put them on tlevision, maybe the production crew can donate some money to keep them off the tube.

Haven't seen the new kid (yet).
Cayweb (HII PEEPULLL!) and Awek (age 42: Adowabul Bwanket) must be big mad. This was their scheme!

So, do we know who OP is talking about yet?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 16, 2023 5:18 PM |
OP is talking about a television advertisement campaign for Shriners hospitals, and two of their child spokespeople, aka what we used to call "poster children."
OP must watch an enormous quantity of broadcast television and assume we all do the same, in order to post a thread like this. It's another indication that a large contingent of DL's regular posters are quite old and out of touch with the current culture of 2023. I'm reminded with conversations I'd have with my parents in their fading years when all they wanted to talk about was a show called "Bluebloods" and the various anchors and reporters on the local 5pm news. I would just chuckle and nod.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 16, 2023 5:43 PM |
R36, OP referenced a specific new person in the Shriners disability pity shill lineup. But never gave us any details. Especially when discussing something so obscure, we need something to go on other than her inflamed geriatric impressions. Besides, NCIS was a much better show than Blue Bloods.

What's this thread about?

Yes, I know that hon, which is why I said OP must assume we all watch enormous amounts of broadcast television, too.
[quote]Besides, NCIS was a much better show than Blue Bloods.
Thanks for the hot tip but I haven't watched network commercial television since about 2009.
