I’m a fan but agree that this version is awful. Jim Steinman songs are campy already so they need a big, booming voice and you need to believe what the singer is singing about for them to work. Bonnie was holding out for a hero while Adam is passing time between Queen tours. Meh.

Lambert is a guest judge on the most cringe British tribute act show alongside Shania Twain, Beverley Knight and a comedian.

They had a Sam Smith act a couple of weeks ago who were made to look like young Sam Smith, Oscar Sam Smith and non binary Sam Smith. The styling and make up was so bad that Marc Almond and George Michael were trending on Twitter. Adam did his "Sam is such a good friend and they are inspirational" bullshit.

The songs on his first couple of albums that were written and produced by established hit makers were great. His own songs less good.

Just listened to a few of the covers. Duran Duran's Ordinary World is such a good song it's hard to ruin but Lambert's version just reminds me of the Mad World cover from Donnie Darko that he performed on American Idol.

And Chandelier sounds like a Glee version.

I liked him and thought he had potential when he was a contestant on AI, but I lost interest after that. His first album was a disappointment, I never heard the later ones all the way through, and I didn't even care about Queen when Freddie Mercury was fronting them.

At his peak (during AI and for the first few years afterward), he had an online fan base as annoying as any I've ever seen in action. They were referred to by some as the "Sparklecows." They would show up in numbers wherever he was being discussed, attack anyone who said a non-adoring word about him, and make grandiose claims on his behalf (i.e., that he was a "worldwide icon"). They seemed mostly to be women over 40. They were as overinvested as the Claymates, but without as much comedy value, because at least they had a realistic assessment of their idol's sexuality.

I thought he did a great job singing Believe at the Kennedy Center honors, but otherwise I have no interest in his Freddy Mercury impersonation.

He’s notorious in LA for cruising Grindr at all hours. Almost everyone has a story about Adam Lambert attempting to pick them up.
