Biden's Top Secret Docs were in his GARAGE, at home!

Are the democrats trying to get rid of Biden by dredging this up before election year?

by Anonymousreply 1January 12, 2023 5:10 PM

Hmmm R1. Interesting.

I just cant believe someone wasn't dispatched to all his haunts during the TRUMP takedown to make sure Biden's papers were in order. Sloppy.

by Anonymousreply 2January 12, 2023 5:13 PM

1. Not all "classified" docs are the same. "Levels and categories of classification. The United States government classifies sensitive information according to the degree which the unauthorized disclosure would damage national security. The three primary levels of classification (from least to greatest) are Confidential, Secret, and Top Secret."

2. There is a difference between possessing docs and possessing docs with an intent to sell - ask any drug dealer.

3. This narrative is intended to create a false equivalency - the stock and trade of rightwing whataboutism.

by Anonymousreply 3January 12, 2023 5:13 PM

Good arguments. But why let the right have this opportunity? Why wasn't this all swept 6 months ago? Or is this the sweeping in action?

by Anonymousreply 4January 12, 2023 5:15 PM

I agree r3, and I agree with ALL the people saying this is not the same as Trump's bullshit.

But there is a problem. It looks stupid. It looks lazy. It looks half-assed that nobody noticed this before, especially during all that shit going on at Mar a Lago.

It also indicates that there is a lot of bullshit with our whole classification system. Government loves classifying anything and everything, and putting that stupid "top secret" stamp on shit gives it a little thrill up the leg. I imagine there are a lot of "sensitive" oh so "highly classified" documentation out there that is actually the most routine crap that nobody actually really cares about. Leading to people at the top getting kind of careless about the whole thing.

by Anonymousreply 14January 12, 2023 5:59 PM

No, R12, it doesn't. See R3. And it certainly doesn't make Biden look anywhere near Trump's double-digit IQ territory.

by Anonymousreply 15January 12, 2023 6:03 PM

Big difference between the two: Biden is fully cooperating with authorities 100%. Trump did not, and so far - has not.

by Anonymousreply 30January 12, 2023 7:01 PM

"Jill had her clitoris removed at Walter Reed yesterday."

Jill donated her clit to R22's mother, who lost hers when giving birth to R22. He ripped it out, desperately clinging to it as he didn't want to come out and face the cold, cruel world.

by Anonymousreply 31January 12, 2023 7:15 PM

Pointing out reason to the MAGA trolls is an exercise in futility, R30.

by Anonymousreply 32January 12, 2023 7:15 PM

The problem that this presents for Republicans is that the more they scream “it’s the same thing” the more the starkly different way the Trump camp has acted, and will continue to act, will be harder for them to spin. They can no longer argue that it’s an abuse of government power if Biden is investigated in the same manner as Trump.

by Anonymousreply 33January 12, 2023 7:22 PM

I think Garland named a special prosecutor to take the wind out of the sails of the right, which as expected, says this is the same thing as what Trump did.

by Anonymousreply 34January 12, 2023 7:32 PM

Leading to people at the top getting kind of careless about the whole thing.

This is absolutely true. I worked as a Communications Officer in American Embassies for over 20 years. I handled the most sensitive TS/SCI/EYES ONLY documents that only the Ambassador could read. Most of it is over-classified crap. Almost all of the telegram correspondence is classified, simply because they don't want foreign nationals, who work in the Embassies, to read it. However, because it is classified it had to be handled, destroyed or kept in an appropriate vault or safe. We literally shredded tons of paper every year, simply because it was over classified nonsense.

What Trump did was criminal, no doubt about it. However, we still don't know Biden's story. Simply because it was found and turned in does not reveal how it was stored or how available it was to uncleared persons. Many questions need answering, surely. But, hopefully, the correct answers may reveal that that the correct procedure was actually fulfilled. It will be interesting how this plays out.

by Anonymousreply 37January 12, 2023 7:45 PM

This is so obviously a set up. The SS probably planted the documents.

by Anonymousreply 49January 12, 2023 10:09 PM

[quote] This is so obviously a set up. The SS probably planted the documents.

Certainly r38, that is a possibility. Classified documents, especially TS/SCI, can be traced. The question I have are the content of these documents. Why would Biden keep them? Are they even something pertaining to him, or irrelevant documents that could have been placed by espionage? It is certainly plausible, depending on the content of the documents. The question remain of why these documents would have been saved by Biden and did he even know about them?

Shakespeare's line "What fuckery abounds" comes to mind.

by Anonymousreply 50January 12, 2023 10:25 PM

R49 - China, Iran. Now tell us, dear, to which countries Trump sold us out?

by Anonymousreply 51January 12, 2023 10:40 PM

It is *not* tin hat to be paranoid about SS. Read up on it and you’ll see it is true that there are major shenanigans going on in SS, from the Director deleting data files the Jan. 6th Committee demanded, to refusing to testify, to Mike Pence not getting in the car, to the dog bite incident. And there are more stories, just look it up. SS is LEO, and all LEO agencies lean right anyway, so it shouldn’t come as a shock that they are corrupt coming out of Trump.

This is the end for Biden--one way or another. He can either be impeached and convicted, or he can resign now and reset the narrative. Kamala likely also now has less than zero chance of ever being elected president. Nonetheless, Biden should step aside tomorrow. Elevate Kamala to President, have her fire Garland immediately and replace him with an AG who will, on day one, indict and imprison Trump and his entire family plus Lady Lindsey, Matt Gaetz, Margie Q, Gosar, Boebert, McCarthy, Cruz, Hawley (for sedition/treason/obstruction/fraud/etc.). Their complaint was understandable. There were so many many glorious Biden inches on display at the Biden family pool that the gal SS officers suffered stress and disappointment in their own sex lives.

by Anonymousreply 80January 13, 2023 4:38 PM

I see your point, R78 -- if that story is true and not the fabrication of a writer eager to sell books, those agents violated their oaths to serve in a manner worthy of trust and confidence. So it's only natural that Joe would be a little leery going forward.

He may be impeached, House Republicans were talking about this long before this mess came along. But he won't be convicted, for the same reason Trump never was. [quote]The scandal wasn't that Trump had documents, but that he refused to return them. Duh.

We know. But this still isn’t helpful for Biden. This will dominate the news cycle now, instead of focusing on Biden’s wins with the economy, and Republican failures in the House.

by Anonymousreply 126January 14, 2023 5:02 PM

The Bushes had a record of making classified documents mysteriously disappear.

by Anonymousreply 127January 14, 2023 5:04 PM

Oh, Jesus Christ, the Repugs self-billed as "Republicans, the party that believes in personal responsibility", but yet, they've performed handstands, cartwheels, LYING, to rescue, justify, and try to guard and protect, even from himself, the low-down, bigoted, stupid, criminal behavior of the likes of Donald Trump, the worst POTUS ever.

Yes, I'd love to take my foot and give a swift kick to the buttocks of Joseph Biden for his having documents, too, but it's a measure of the contempt Repugs have for their own arguments, and the people who would be stupidly persuaded by them, that they even attempt drawing any comparisons to the very different reactions of Biden and Trump.

by Anonymousreply 128January 14, 2023 5:41 PM

Remember, every Republican accusation is always a confession. So when their initial defense from the Trump situation was that the FBI planted them, it was their admitting that the SS did the same to Biden. We already know they were complicit in Jan 6. The SS needs to be disbanded and a new non-partisan security arrangement made, with the Trump children kicked off the plan.

by Anonymousreply 129January 14, 2023 5:47 PM

When 3 out of the 5 women of “The View”, including Joy, turn on Biden, then it’s over.

by Anonymousreply 130January 14, 2023 5:48 PM

Sure, Jan @ r130.

by Anonymousreply 131January 14, 2023 5:50 PM

Oh please, just ride it out. This panicked bullshit about "HE MUST RESIGN" is so sad and stupid. Sorry, 3 out of 5 View bitches, nobody's going anywhere, except when Trump finally goes to jail.

by Anonymousreply 132January 14, 2023 5:51 PM

Memo to self.

When I'm in the final two months of my term as US President. I'll direct the staff of the Nation Archives assist me in my move-out.

We'll examine and determine what is, and isn't, mine.

That all will be documented contemporaneously.

That way, I maximize the chances that I don't mistakenly, or deliberately, close the door behind me still holding documents that I shouldn't have.

by Anonymousreply 133January 14, 2023 5:51 PM

R131 needs to watch Friday’s show.

by Anonymousreply 134January 14, 2023 5:53 PM

^ Why? What happened?

by Anonymousreply 135January 14, 2023 5:56 PM

No I don't, r134, I believe you. But that hen party turning on Biden has zero effect on this matter. I find it amusing that you think it does.

by Anonymousreply 136January 14, 2023 5:58 PM

Sadly you are right r126, at least for awhile. The lovely and talented media love nothing more than a Democratic Scandal, so they can all preen about how they are totally UNNNBIASSSS and can spend a week ignoring the fact that the Republican Party is a complete shit show every minute of every day. Such a sad and stupid ritual.

But if the media want to actually ask an intelligent question for once, they could ask if we overclassify documents. Why exactly has nobody given a flying fuck about these TOP SECRET eyes only, must have documents for six years? Are they basically useless, routine crap?

by Anonymousreply 137January 14, 2023 6:08 PM

So True R137. Nothing older than 2000 should be classified. Nothing.

by Anonymousreply 138January 14, 2023 6:10 PM

R138, Documents/files from JFK’s assassination in 1963 are still classified.

by Anonymousreply 139January 14, 2023 6:22 PM

The View women did not turn on Biden. They discussed the clear differences between the two situations. Biden's people found the documents and Biden is fully cooperative. Griffen was the one who "turned" on him, commenting that the age of the docs doesn't matter, it's still a security risk.

I hope that we get an idea, eventually, of the subject matter of the documents. Just break it down for us in general terms, please.

by Anonymousreply 140January 14, 2023 6:46 PM

R140, Joy, Sara and Alyssa all spoke with much less support for Biden than previously.

by Anonymousreply 141January 14, 2023 7:39 PM

Be sure to put that in an RNC press release r141 and send it to Giveafuck.com.

by Anonymousreply 142January 14, 2023 7:41 PM

R142 is obviously missing her afternoon nap today.

by Anonymousreply 143January 14, 2023 7:43 PM

[quote]Joy, Sara and Alyssa all spoke with much less support for Biden than previously.

Agreeing that Biden shouldn't have had the documents in his possession is not "turning on" him.

by Anonymousreply 144January 14, 2023 7:46 PM

The media really learned nothing after playing up Hillary’s emails. They’ll end up with another despot who treats the media as garbage and the enemy of the people and act shocked.

by Anonymousreply 145January 14, 2023 7:59 PM

No one gives a shit about The View. Grow up.

More classified documents from the Obama administration were found in President Joe Biden’s Delaware residence this week — in addition to the two batches that had been previously disclosed — the White House said Saturday.

[quote] I wonder if the Biden's have security cameras at their home?

Yes but sadly mysteriously malfunctioning each time the suitcases of Ukrainian oligarch cash are delivered

The security system at Vice President Joe Biden's Delaware private residence "malfunctioned" so badly late last year that Secret Service agents had to shut it off.

What's more, Saturday's shooting outside the New Castle County estate, when a motorist unloaded several rounds before speeding away, wasn't caught on camera because there wasn't one trained on the road, the Washington Post reports.

Despite the gaps in his home's security--and the embattled state of affairs within the Secret Service ranks--Vice President Biden said he's not concerned about his family's safety.

They may not have r145, but so many more of us know they are completely full of shit in all their shock and horror and trauma. I do think Democrats have changed and many of us just aren't willing to perform our assigned role of falling apart every time some Republicunt screams about some stupid shit.

The Secret Service has long been right-wing politically. Hoover had trained all of them personally when they let JFK get shot.

R138 There are no 2000 year old American top secret documents.

by Anonymousreply 151January 15, 2023 11:41 AM

Why the heck would anyone store documents like that at home?

Though I do hope all the Trump fans who defended Trump's documents at Mar-a-Lago aren't attacking Biden over this!

kinda sorta maybe r155. And yes, until we know exactly what the documents were, which because it's "national security" we may never actually know, we can't say for a certainty what was or what was not endangered. Again, I have to ask why nobody gave a shit about these vital documents for six years. And again I wonder how many classified documents are out there that nobody at home or abroad gives a shit about.

by Anonymousreply 156January 15, 2023 6:04 PM

Biden probably got those classified docs mixed up with his home-business invoices to China. He should never have let Hunter handle the books.

Try harder, r157.

by Anonymousreply 158January 16, 2023 1:39 AM

I find it more possible that Biden got excited and took the Classified stamp and went crazy with a bunch of take out menus

by Anonymousreply 159January 16, 2023 3:31 AM

As a senator, Joe Biden helped kill President Jimmy Carter’s CIA director nominee because he allegedly mishandled classified materials.

Biden was a rising star in the U.S. Senate and an inaugural member of the Intelligence Committee, which was established in response to the lawlessness of the Nixon administration. Biden colluded with Republicans on the Intelligence Committee to kill the nomination of a CIA critic to be director of the agency.

Among the reasons was that the nominee, Ted Sorensen, had admitted to taking classified documents for a biography of his longtime friend John F. Kennedy and had spoken out in defense of Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg. In fact, Biden went so far as to suggest Sorensen might be subject to prosecution under the Espionage Act.

Sorensen had given an affidavit in Ellsberg’s case, in which Sorensen acknowledged that many officials in Washington, including himself, would take classified documents home to review and that officials often leaked far more sensitive documents to the press without facing prosecutions.

by Anonymousreply 169January 19, 2023 3:04 PM

The crime is NOT having classified materials. In fact, classified materials are often found where they should not be. They are just returned and life goes on.

Trump's crime is ignoring subpoenas for them and signing a doc saying he didn't have any more when he did.

by Anonymousreply 170January 19, 2023 3:54 PM

[quote] And the left wing nutjobs come crawling out of the woodwork. The moron at [R55] never did explain or show any proof of how Trump "sold" state secrets to the enemy. Just knee-jerk defenses for that doddering old fool in office.

Yes, there is no proof (yet) of Trump selling state secrets, but he had 30 boxes of classified info (including apparently nuclear secrets) for a reason.

Selling Iranian nuclear secrets to Saudi Arabia isn't so far fetched an idea

The White House press corps has, according to a new report, “grown exasperated” with Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

For the Wednesday edition of CNN’s Reliable Sources newsletter, media correspondent Oliver Darcy spoke with more than a half dozen members of the White House press corps. And they have become increasingly frustrated with a press secretary who, in their view, seldom, if ever, strays from talking points 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒔 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏.

“𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒆𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑾𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑯𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒆𝒓𝒂,” said one unnamed reporter who Darcy identified as a White House veteran, though this person did exclude Trump-era press secretaries from that dig.

The correspondents were particularly roiled by Jean-Pierre’s briefings last week. On Thursday afternoon, she repeatedly said that the administration’s search for classified documents had been completed. However, on Thursday night, additional classified documents were found at President Joe Biden’s Wilmington, DE residence. Jean-Pierre did not disclose the discovery of the documents at Friday’s briefing. The information wasn’t revealed until the White House released a statement on Saturday.

At Jean-Pierre’s next briefing on Tuesday, the press secretary was grilled on whether the discovery of the documents had been concealed from her or she knew about them and intentionally misled the reporters in the room. After multiple, lengthy non-answers, Jean-Pierre finally said she did not know the documents had been recovered ahead of Friday’s briefing.

According to the CNN report, the incident did not go over well with the press corps.

“There is the expectation that when you say something, it’s going to be true,” an unnamed White House correspondent told Darcy. “That’s been the biggest credibility hit for her, it’s answering a question in a way that ends up not being true.”

But at least she is a gay black womynX.

How does that translate to "I wonder if the Biden's property have security cameras at their home?", r169?

by Anonymousreply 173January 19, 2023 5:13 PM

I told you guys back when Hillary ran that the Secret Service really disliked Joe Biden. I have no idea if that has carried on. But he admitted as President he never says anything within their earshot. Hell of a thing to admit. And they lied about his dog biting one of them.

by Anonymousreply 174January 19, 2023 5:46 PM

We need to abolish the secret service and start over. They are politically compromised.

by Anonymousreply 175January 20, 2023 3:25 AM

Or just hire new people...

by Anonymousreply 176January 20, 2023 1:19 PM

It takes a lot of training to even start at the lowest level of the Secret Service. Anybody serving at the Presidential level would be agents who have served a pretty long time. But the SS needs to do something! And Biden seems to be tolerating them and not rattling any cages. I don't get it.

Charlamagne and co-host Andrew Schulz discussed why the reaction to Biden’s documents was so different from former President Donald Trump.

“I just like consistency, you know what I’m saying?” Charlamagne told Schulz.

Schulz insisted that there was no way they would be printing out classified documents that contain anything really important.

“Well, here’s the thing, and I’m not coping pleas for Trump. ‘Cause it’s not about Trump, it’s just about consistency. When it happened to Trump, it was all about the documents. It was, ‘We don’t know what’s on them. It could be nuclear codes, it could be personal information that he’s selling to foreign governments,'” Charlamagne said.

“They don’t print out nuclear codes,” Schulz said.

“But my point is, that’s what the media was saying,” Charlamagne replied.

“Now, with Biden, it’s, ‘Oh, well it’s not really about the documents. Classified documents slip up and leak all the time. Now it’s about the obstruction that Trump did.’ Like, ‘No, that’s not what y’all said when it was Trump,'” he added.

“Are you finding out that the media’s not fair?” Schulz asked.

“No, I know the media’s not fair,” Charlamagne said. “I’ve always known that, you know what I mean? But it’s just the principle, like, let’s at least try to have some consistency. Let’s not make the hypocrisy be so, so blatant.”
