OP, you're wrong to make this a Chalamet thing. The biggest reason people are opposed to this is because no-one asked for it. No-one wants another attempt by a Hollywood studio to 'reimagine' a beloved film, in this case with a bullshit prequel.

The book discusses the Oompa-Loompahs and where they came from; Depp’s version touches on it as well.
There’s no need for more Wonka; it’s just laziness at this point but Timothée has a limited shelf life.
